My first Yelp review, and since I just bought my first single-family house (used of course), probably the first of many. So after you buy a house, what is the first thing you do..... call a locksmith to change all the locks. When I bought my townhouse, which I sold to buy this house, I didn't do my research and decided to buy four new door handles/locks. Obviously, I didn't realize you could just rekey the locks for a lot less money. I called Wayne on Thursday, and we were moving in on Friday. Despite this last minute appointment, Wayne was gracious enough to stop by my residence on Friday, at about 4:45 pm. He changed 6 locks and only charged me for 5. Further, he rekeyed the locks such that I only needed 2 keys instead of the original 5 I received at purchase. Additionally, he fixed one deadbolt was obviously not functioning correctly, again at no extra charge. Lastly, he provided 5 sets of keys (10 total) free of charge. He was professional, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. I hope that all of my future service providers (plumber, electrician, bulk pick-up, contractor, and general handyman) are this nice to deal with.... and more importantly produce perfect results. read more

This was my first experience with a locksmith and I will now go with no one else but island lock and safe. Locked myself out of bedroom which has a key doorknob that my roommate installed backwards. Tried everything to get it open to no avail. I just bought a place in Ewa Beach and needed to get my front door locks to match up since the person who was renting it lost the key to the bottom knob. I didn't have anyone recommend me a locksmith so I decided to just browse on yelp. The picture of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel caught my eye since I have 2 of them myself. I decided to read the reviews and got sold. I called Glenn and since it wasn't an emergency, I scheduled an appointment for the next morning. He got there like 15 minutes early and waited for me. He was working on the knob for some time before he recommended that I buy a new one. Apparently whoever installed it got the screw stuck or glued it in place. Glenn was such a sweetheart! He said he can wait while I ran to the store to buy new door knobs because his were kind of pricey. Altogether it took about an hour (including my trip to the store). He made me 2 extra keys on-site. And he even recommended a friend to help with the repairs I would need for my place. Glenn is totally awesome!! read more
