Islanders Café man where do I start Miss Roslyn first off? I wanna tell you thank you for everything you are doing for the community. We love you. Keep being you keep cooking for the community because we love you this place right here holds a special place in my heart because her service And the food makes me feel like my mother is not too far from me. She cooks with love and compassion and let me tell you something. Her prices are very reasonable. See a lot of people charge you a lot of money for food and it don't taste good. I feel like she deserve to be charging us way more But she does. She doesn't see it like that. She cares about making sure we eat in proper food, the correct way at a reasonable price no matter what's going on the world we need more people like her. I've been to Islanders Café about five or six times. I tried almost everything she has and every time I try to food it got better and better and better from the curry chicken to the jerk chicken to the jerk chicken to the fried chicken rice the mac & cheese, the collard greens. It just kept getting better and better and better 100 out of 100 highly recommend you guys take take out time out your day and go try. The spot is 100% worth it the lines and lines and lines that be outside of the door for lunchtime the community love her. We left her Miss Roslyn keep doing your thing. I'm so happy that I tried your food. I'm so happy that I was able to meet you and your son continue a great job within the community as far as ambience there's places you can go and sit or what not but once you open that door, you feel like you're home no matter what your background is no matter your ethnicity you feel like you're at home 10 out of 10 100 out of 100 1 million out of 1 million highly recommend for review on my YouTube page @WHER2nxt

Islander's cafe is a Hollywood GEM ran by lovely chef Roseline. The food is always made fresh and hot with consistent flavors. The food is exceptional value for portions served, and I am a sucker for a good deal! There are so many options to select from for a quick grab and go lunch . You get a protein plus two sides and a drink for under $10bucks! Deal!!! Inflation proof here! The options I've tried are in my past 5 years as a regular. Fried pork chops-big meaty tasty not your baby chops. Fried chicken - seasoned savory batter not overly greasy Fried tilapia - light and crispy also seasoned well Curry chicken- delicious chunks of meat in a yellow curry perfect for rice Jerk chicken - tender moist with just the right amount of jerk. Brown stew chicken- OMG my favorite goto for chicken in sweet brown stew gravy mixed with rice & peas. The sides also include three different types of rice. Yellow rice, rice & peas, and white rice. Always happy that the rice is soft and hot and not dried out and greasy. There's also corn, cabbage, fried plantains, green beans, corn bread , and I'm sure there's a few more I'm missing. Dinner portions are also generous and take care of my hungry family. Thanks for feeding the neighborhood!

I wanted to like this place... like I really wanted to like this place, so much so that two stars is me "wanting to like this place." Anyone who has ever traveled the Caribbean knows the best places are off in the cut, not many aesthetics, the service is less than desirable, but the food is amazing! This place meets that criteria with one exception... The food is TERRIBLE. First of all this place sells more soul food than Island food. I went to this place 90 minutes before closing and the server basically told me "what you see is what you get; we are about to close." I had the "brown stew chicken" rice and peas and macaroni pie. The brown stew chicken tasted like Sweet Baby Rays BBQ chicken, the rice and peas was dry and cold and the macaroni was No Bueno. Most places I'd give another shot, but I'm sorry "Islanders" cafe... rename your place and I may come back...not expecting a taste of the Caribbean but a soul food pot luck.

It appears to be closed down, I've went there several days during their working hours but it was closed up with metal shutters.

Food was delicious, from appetizer to main entree. Recommendations were made and I went with all of them. Pork belly chunks that were seasoned with salt and pepper, and lemon was added afterward for a little more punch in the flavor. Shrimp creole was delicious. The red beans and rice mix makes you want to keep having more and mixing it all together gives you a flavorful punch in your mouth. Mofongo, aka , masked green plantains are only for those looking for something a little dry with flavor. Mines had steak and it was drizzled with mojito sauce and oil. Our server was excellent and recommended flipping it over to have the juice flow into the mofongo which she went ahead and did.. steak was well done and when mixed in had a great combination of flavor.. Ambiance feels like a local P.R spot, flags, art, music, and very fun ambiance. Enjoyed it. Definitely when I'm in the area will come again..

A bit overcooked (kid refused to eat it) but it was decent flavor and tenderness. - beans: 3 stars, too salty - white rice : 1 star, felt dry and grainy like day old rice from the fridge.

It's located inside a nearby mall, which turned out to be high-end and really beautiful. We grabbed an Uber and headed over. The food absolutely hit the spot. We ordered three bowls with jerk chicken and rice and another bowl with curry chicken and spicy rice. Everything was fantastic and the portions were generous--definitely worth the price. When we ordered they had just served their last portion of oxtail, which was a bit of a bummer because that's what I originally wanted. But while we were eating, I noticed the line never stopped and the server was constantly plating food. That's always a great sign that a place is doing something right. They actually did replenish the oxtail shortly after... but by then we were already full. We also grabbed a rum cake and it was a 1000 out of 10. Must try! The only downside is that it's located inside the mall. It would be amazing to experience the full vibe in a standalone restaurant setting with maybe an even larger menu. But clearly they're doing something right because the line never stopped the entire time we were there. Highly recommend!
