The food was amazingly delicious! I had the jerk chicken and hibiscus drink and my daughter eats no spice and the made her an ala carte shrimp side. The shrimp seasoning was too spicy for her and the staff went out of their way to remake them without any spice. It is good eats at a decent price, will definitely be returning! read more

Island Vibes Cuisine? YES! I love that this authentically ran & owned my Jamaicans. Everything is made in house & from scratch. I got the oxtail entree that came with rice & peas & a salad. Found this place while shopping across the street at Talin Marker. Saw a few people walking out so I decided to check out what was inside. Stepping in it smelled delicious! The owner recommended the oxtail which was so flavorful and tender, I was between the oxtail and the goat curry. Im definitely coming back to give the curry a try. The plate is more than enough for 2. I tried eating it all but only got halfway through. It was nice and quiet, had some to chat with the owner and get to know her. Ate there today. Very friendly staff. Ordered the Curried Goat and a Sour Sop to drink. The first bite of curried goat was amazing. I was transported back too Port Antonio in the Jamaica I Love. The goat, seasoned perfectly, seasoned rice, salad ant roasted plantains. Sour Sop was like a vanilla milk shake on steroids. This place is amazing and reasonably price for heavenly food. My personal meal wasn't that great, but my dining companions who had the oxtail and goat curry said theirs was good, so perhaps the jerk chicken just isn't the way to go here. Jerk Chicken - 2/5 Two major problems here. First, I couldn't taste any spice (scotch bonnet was awol) and the meat was very dry. Can't recommend it. As soon as I heard that Albuquerque had a new Jamaican restaurant, I knew I had to try it asap! I ordered the jerk chicken entree and it was delicious! The reason why I gave it 4 stars was because the way they chop up the chicken shattered the bones. This made it a little hard to eat because I had to pick out bones. But the chicken was so flavorful! The plantains were some of the best I ever had! I also ordered a spicy beef patty. It wasn't spicy but the way the meat was seasoned was delicious! Really disappointing We drove from LA in our RV. I discovered I'd left my Jamaican seasoning at home. I went on Yelp and discovered this restaurant. The food was okay. I am sure it was delicious yesterday. I say this because the curry goat was watered down, probably reheated from yesterday. I can give the cook a few lessons on how to properly reheat food. I really hate to do this as I am a strong supporter of local small businesses but I have to. I tried this place once and it was good, not great but I always like to try again. I ordered again last week and it was horrible. The beef patties were the only edible thing. The jerk chicken entree was very questionable. I sampled everything on the plate and threw it out. The coco bread was rock hard as I pull it out of the bag and I got two. That was $50 wasted and I won't go back for a 3rd try. So disappointed bc there are not many Jamaican places around here. read more

The chicken was cooked well, which was the one positive. However, it wasn't seasoned traditionally. The pork was really disappointing... dry, unseasoned, and had large chunks of fat. The rice and peas lacked seasoning, my wife who never adds salt and pepper to anything found herself sprinkling it on everything but the chicken. They are very crispy and extremely well seasoned. That down and dirty rub is mmmm mmmm mmm! The boil I got had head on shrimp, snow crab, cleaned shrimp and jumbo shrimp. We added corn potatoes and sausage. For a landlocked state this place is very good! My wife craves this spot! I always leave full and to be honest I didn't think the bill was too pricey for a seafood experience, like I said, in a land locked state. Service has always been very professional and prompt. This one is in the rotation. Also make no mistake bring your wallet game to this splurge but worth it type spot.
