Very delicious drinks! Not too sweet, not too expensive... so it's just right ah!? Lol We've been trying to make our way to Loke Aloha Coffee in Waipahu whenever our brains remind us. Their hours are on the shorter side and they're closed on Sundays, so whenever we actually catch them open, it feels like a special treat. Their little hut sits right in the center of Jack's parking lot, with a cute tented seating area if you want to relax while you wait or enjoy other grindz nearby. The crew at Loke Aloha Coffee is always friendly and helpful - one more reason to support this small local business! First the good, the açaí bowl was pretty good. We went with the cookie açaí bowl, it was perfect. Love the consistency and flavor of the açaí and how the cookie butter and cookie dough match perfectly. Unfortunately there is a bad! We waited at the window for a good 5 mins till we got any acknowledgment. The girl at the window saw us several times but never acknowledged us (she was making an order). At least say, "Hi, I'll be with you guys shortly". We also ordered the banana pudding matcha. It was bland, like watered down. Been meaning to try this place out for a while, I know people were raving about their Banana Pudding Matcha but i unfortunately don't like Banana so I got their Strawberry Matcha w/ Oat Milk & Ham and Cheese Croissant. The croissant hit the spot since I didn't eat breakfast & the matcha was decent . Would probably bring my sisters here to try out what they're best known for so they can give a fair review. (This part of the reviews doesn't directly reflect the business as I know it is out of the control of this establishment) but just an FYI to people wanting to come to the sistering food trucks near. just know eating there is quite impossible with the smoke from the Huli Huli Chicken business. The smoke gets trapped under all the tents for seating & it can be trouble some for customers. The wait time for my food & drink was 15 minutes so staying nearby was a little difficult, a lot of us had watery eyes from the smoke. Love to try new coffee and matcha places but unfortunately had a not so good experience. We came at about 11 am to try some of their matcha's. We decided to try their strawberry Dubai since it was a limited time flavor due to Valentine's Day and the banana pudding matcha. Both sounded really good so we had to try. While paying, I guess their system was down and paid through an employees phone but after the orders were going through their iPad. After seeing other customers get their orders who were behind us, we inquired on our order. This was after 30 minutes of waiting. After they checked on our order, it came out super quick which was great but also disappointing after waiting so long. As far as the drinks, my other half enjoyed the pudding from the banana pudding matcha. The strawberry dubai wasn't that bad and if you enjoy the dubai type of chocolates, you'll definitely like this drink. Came here for one thing only: banana pudding matcha. The matcha is potent and not bland or watery. It was the perfect color so I knew it was going to be good. I asked for half-sweet (I cannot stand sickly sweet drinks) and it still hit the spot! The banana pudding was nice and added creaminess and thickness to the drink. Other places with cream tops tend to melt faster. The banana flavor tasted natural and not so artificial tasting like some banana flavored drinks tend to be. Price was a little steep with the added $1 tip, but once in a while I would come back again for a treat. I tried their Iced Loke Latte; beverages come in one size. The Loke has raw honey and coconut cream added to whole milk and espresso. It was a balanced coffee beverage...it avoided being too sweet. They have a manageable menu with decent food options. I am curious about their Croffles. This place is super cute. It's a little trailer in a parking lot with a bunch of food trucks next to it. They have coffee and matcha, food and açaí bowls. I tried their Haupia matcha (fave) & their Loke coffee, so so good. The workers are super friendly and quick with making drinks. They have one size cups now and their food is so delicious. I really loved this place when they were fairly new a year ago when their banana pudding matcha lattes were getting popular. I feel like the matcha tasted better and the banana pudding was sweeter and creamier. When i got mines today, it just didn't hit the same. Matcha was def watery and tasteless. I had seen sooo much good things about this special drink and wanting to try it with one of my go-to's: iced matcha latte! But unfortunately, I didn't care for it. I ordered the iced haupia matcha latte. It was so good and refreshing. You can definitely taste the haupia. A little on the thicker side of consistency but overall a very well-made beverage. For their Haupia Iced Matcha Latte actually as it's the current special and you know how I'm all about trying the specials and I'm so happy that I did as it was probably the best collab with matcha and it was done with island flair. Loke Aloha Coffee is cute little wagon in Waipahu in an area right besides Arby's along with other food trucks where they also have a shaded dining tables that's nice to have whether you're waiting or to just relax and enjoy without looking for a make shift picnic spot. I was taking my drink to go but did take the opportunity to steal a photo op cause it was certainly a beautiful cup with the haupia sitting on the bottom I had to give it a stir and what a luxurious sip of heaven. It seems like the place as there were so many that come here knowing what to order and now I can see why as the yummy drinks are not just delicious but creative with the flavors that really works. This little shack truck is located in a parking lot. I got there early but I noticed lots of people coming here just for this little truck so it must be really good O.O I got their viral Pistachio Banana Matcha Pudding Latte. It was very unique! I wish the straw was bigger to drink the pudding more efficiently but I made it work. I really liked it and I would come back just to try their drinks again. I ordered the Cookie Bowl, which comes with fresh strawberries, bananas, granola, and a big scoop of their house-made cookie dough on top of a super smooth and flavorful açaí base. The combo of fruit and cookie dough sounds weird but trust me, it's Ono. It's like dessert with your healthy açaí bowl hah There was a bit of a line when I arrived, but it moved fairly quickly. However, since I came close to closing and there were a bunch of last-minute orders, it took a little longer than expected to actually get my bowl. Cute little truck, not the expected location, but it works with ample parking. Unfortunately, the only seating area is outside in the parking lot under a tent. The concept is great, but the execution being in the middle of Waipahu is not ideal. I did not get the coffee or any drinks. I only got the açai bowl. For the price in the size it wasn't a deal. The one that I ordered didn't have very much fruits with it. What was nice is that the side was actually not bitter at all. I will say that in the time that we were there waiting for our side boat to be made there were a handful of people that came up and ordered drinks so that might be the more popular reason for visits to this location. This little coffee cart is located in Waipahu next to a few other popular food trucks. I was getting my tires serviced nearby when I found this spot on Yelp. They specialize in coffee but also do acai bowls and other food items. I got their most popular Loke latte with honey and coconut cream. They also have favorites like thai coffee, black sesame, and a chocolate haupia frappe. I will say that the parking lot plus all of the other trucks nearby makes the whole area very hot. I came around 9-10am and it was so hot, and there was a line, and then a wait for the coffee. So much so, that my iced drink wasn't very iced and I added more ice when I got home. They have great coffee that is perfect for an afternoon pick me up, but their hours aren't the most convenient for me so I don't often come. I love a good afternoon beverage. At my old job, I would often get boba or Starbucks during my breaks, but now that I work in Waipahu, it's hard for me to find a place that's convenient and works with my schedule. One afternoon, my coworkers and I decided we should get coffee from Loke Aloha because it was highly recommended. I decided on the Vietnamese iced coffee. It was sweet, but not too sweet and it was perfect for getting me through the rest of the work day. They also have a banana pudding matcha that my coworker got that I was eyeing, but it looked very heavy with the "pudding" whipped cream topping. Maybe next time. Love to support local businesses so stopped here on my way to work. Came at 9am and there was no line, but once I ordered a lot of people (walk-up and phone orders) started coming in. There's only two people working so expect a small wait. I got an Iced Loke Latte and Japanese Spam & Cheese Bun. Loke Latte tasted like any other iced coffee so it was up to standard. I was surprised at how massive the Japanese bun was! Looked so beautiful! Pastry was way bigger than most places so definitely worth it. Good ratio of cheese and spam and bun. Would order again. During my first visit a few months ago, I ordered the Loke Aloha Latte, tasty, but a little sweet for me. Today, hubby and I wanted to visit again. The coffee cart area felt casual and welcoming. We also came before the other food trucks/tents were open, so there was no smoke nor meaty smells wafting over us. This time, I ordered a regular iced vanilla oat latte and hubby ordered a regular iced black sesame latte. Both were so tasty, the espresso was strong, and the drinks weren't too sweet! We also ordered a Biscoff cookie butter croffle. Yes, ice cream for breakfast lol. All croffles come with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, with an up charge to have the ice cream on the side. The croffle with the toppings kept its nice croissant texture. The buttery baked flavors of the croffle strips with the syrup reminded me of a waffle. Along with simple coffees and lattes for serious coffee drinkers, Loke Aloha also serves frappes for coffee lovers with a sweet tooth, matcha, and smoothie for non-coffee drinkers. Besides croffles, açaí bowls, scones, and savory baked goods are on the menu. Covered bench seating is available in front of the coffee cart to enjoy your food. People talk a lot about this place being super busy. It's really the only place on the west side of the island that sells banana matcha lattes, of course it will be busy. But trust me when I say it's worth it. If you're not feeling up to driving to town, this is a great option! It is located in a shopping plaza across the street from Taniokas. Parking can be a little hectic at times during the lunch rush so keep that in mind! Since it's a food truck, the seating is outside and in a communal area for the other food trucks. Waipahu can be unbearably hot on certain days, so even the covered seating might not be able to save you from melting. Something to keep in mind is that if you choose to sit there and talk story while the huli huli chicken people are cooking, you may end up coming home smelling like it. Which may or may not be a good thing, depending on how hungry you are . Now onto the star of the show: the banana pudding pistachio matcha latte. I highly recommend mixing the pudding in with your straw before consuming so you can really get those hints of matcha and banana. The pudding tastes fresh and the matcha is strong. Not too grassy. Mixing the pudding in will mute the matcha a little, so if you like your matcha not as strong you will be okay. Finally got to try the viral pistachio banana pudding latte & it did not disappoint! Made my way out to Waipahu around 10:15am on a Tuesday. There were maybe 3 people in line & 3 groups waiting for their drinks. There were a few workers who were super friendly & were quick to take everyone's orders. My drink came out in about 5 minutes & there's a nice tented outdoor area for people to enjoy their food/drinks. My large pistachio banana pudding latte with soy milk came out to a little under $10. I would say it was worth it since I did change the milk type & it was the large size. The pistachio banana pudding latte was pretty comparable to Okayama Kobo's banana pudding latte, which I also love, but slightly different with the pistachio added.
