I have leased with vw for over 20 yrs. I leased my first 25 Taos middle of last yr. It was really nice loved the extras and color. Unfortunately, there was a major defect that was a health hazard so I started a buy back. The service dept Manager was really nice but was difficult for him to really go above and beyond. After months and months and phone calls and calls to the dealership and corporate. To be forgotten about. I got my measly buy back. I had all intentions to re-lease with vw in SI because I enjoy the cars and the dealership is on the island. I also thought " maybe the car i had was just a lemon". So when I started dealing with the Male sales manager for my re-lease of my buy back .I was surprised how he was so disgustingly aggressive, condescending, unprofessional and extremely disrespectful! He demanded I use all the money I receive for the new lease and he was counting every cent. Which I have the convo on recording. He was extremely difficult to deal with and I decided it just was not worth it. he didn't deserve my business. The day I was suppose to get my check and give back my loaner I ended up waking up to a flat tire. So I had to call road side. The gentleman came to switch the tire and he was puzzled how the tire deflated because there was nothing wrong with it. No screws, or holes or bend in the rim. I went to the dealership met with the service manager and he seemed angry and tense. He was upset I wasn't re-leasing with the dealership and also I got a flat. he told me I would have to pay For the tire then in the same sentence he told me I shouldn't worry about anything. I found this so grossly unprofessional and wanted out of this uncomfortable situation as quickly as possible. I left and went car shopping elsewhere. I'm so devastated how I was treated here. This is not a family run business. It's a corporation and emotions are not suppose to be involved in a professional business. I called today 5 months later bc I did end up with another vw and needed service. Thought maybe I would be able to stop by. Not only was I hung up twice. The manager in service picked up when my friend called and when we gave a different name. When I said it was me he told me I was at fault for a large gash in the loaner tire and I owe him 250 dollars. I have documentation stating otherwise that there was nothing wrong with the tire. he also told me he basically has a grudge and I wasn't welcome at his vw dealership in Staten Island ! Vehicle had significant damage that was repaired / reconditioned and repainted the damage was never disclosed to me when buying the car. When I noticed the paint was not original, only then did they disclose that it had been damaged and repaired. They were trying to conceal that it had been damaged. Had i not asked, they never would have told me. The Vehicle price was being offered as it had never been damaged. No discount was offered after they admitted it was refurbished. Speaking on behalf of my sister who just leased her first car, and I came along to the dealerships for support-- I was skeptical as two young girls are often, unfortunately, not taken seriously especially in places like car dealerships. Well, this was not the case here! We were treated wonderfully by all who worked with us (especially Renata and Michele), seriously wonderful employees! My sister got an amazing deal on a 2017 Jetta SEL with absolutely no gimmicks or scams. 100% have nothing bad to say about the experience. I gave Mitch the specs and price point I was willing to spend on a vehicle I wanted. Within minutes he told me they had a car in stock and could match the price the Manhattan dealership quoted me. Came in the following day and walked out a happy customer. No haggling, went for a test drive, Mitch was humorous and quick. When we crunched the numbers, Ralph was to the point and the price came in at what we were quoted. They even took care of the lease return on our Ford vehicle. OK absolutely had to write this review because this was the easiest car buying experience I've ever had (and I've purchased 7 cars in my lifetime). Submitted an inquiry online and got a call back from Stewart who was super friendly and an outside-of-the-box thinker. I was looking for a 2017 but I didn't like the price point they were giving me so he offered a new 2016 (I carfax'd it. It was definitely new) and it worked out perfectly. He handed me off to a direct VW only sales person - Danielle. Danielle was fantastic and called me back right away and we agreed on a the price I wanted literally in minutes. Her manager was close by and she basically hollared over to him what I was coming back with and he said "Done". Danielle was just phenomenal. I know this probably sounds too good to be true but here's what she actually did for me. 1) Texted me pictures of the sticker info and photos of the car 2) Took me for a test drive 3) Patiently explained to me and showed me how to use the infotainment system (CarPlay, music and bluetooth settings, etc.) 4) Offered me coffee but when I asked for tea, which they didn't have, she ran to a cafe to get me one just the way I liked it and even called me to ask which flavor I wanted (I wanted raspberry). 5) Took all my info for the trade in and got my the price I wanted for it (minus a couple of hundred but that wasn't a big deal) and did NOT make me do the dreaded back and forth while she "talks to the managers" and try to insult me by giving me a super low value for my trade in. I really appreciated that. 6) Offered to join in on the staffs lunch order lol 7) Helped me take all my possessions out of my old car and put them into my new one 8) Offered to drill holes for the license plate holder in my front bumper. 9) May CarFax report showed a recall on the suction pump. I mentioned this to her and she had them replace it right there. It took a little while but otherwise, I would've been out of there in a very short time. The General Sales Manager, Lamore, was also very helpful and reasonable. He accepted an email of a fedex label and photo of the check as proof enough to let me drive away with the car. Finance lady Michelle was also nice. Not pushy at all and just walked me through signing the necessary documents. No hard sell on anything. I am still in shock that this whole experience went so seamlessly. I would definitely recommend this dealership and especially Danielle to anyone looking for a great price on a new VW. read more

We recently bought a beautiful Passat. The staff was polite and friendly and did a lot to help us get the car. I don't want to take away from their effort and patience. We had a nice experience. Before we signed anything, Lisa, went over all the paper work with us. She convinced us to buy a 3500 dollar extended warranty promising us that anything that can go wrong with the car is covered. She even told us how when her tires went, the warranty saved her. So stupidly and with our faith in the staff, we signed over our lives to her. Fast forward two months later we're having issues with our tires. Our sales person told us to call our insurance company. My partner went back to VW and Lisa, looked her in the face and denied ever telling us anything about tires being included. Implying, we were making this up. Now of course we can't return the warranty, it was already paid for. We got scammed into buying a 3500 dollar warranty that does nothing for us. This is not the correct way to do business. I am disappointed in the way this was handled and upset at the dishonesty of some of the staff members. read more

Just bought a car from them 3 weeks ago. Very professional and amazing service. I worked with Tony and Richie to buy my car and subsequently when my garage punctured my tire. Fast service and wonderfully kind people. They really work with the idea that you will be a lifelong customer and it really shows. I always appreciate the handshake and warm welcome and they love my car just as much as I do. As such, they treat it so nicely that it could almost be mistaken for theirs to the untrained eye. If you want great service, take your business here! They have more cars than it appears as they have another lot with more cars a little further out. If you call in advance to see it, they'll bring it out and have it on the lot or, in my case, they brought it to the hospital so I could test drive it on my break. If I could give this no stars, I WOULD. I have been dealing with Island VW since the end of December. I purchased a used Beetle with Carvana and had a few things wrong with the car including needing some parts, and a check engine light that had come on after my car wouldn't start one night when it had gotten really cold. I have warranty with them through a pretty well-known company called SilverRock. They told me the repairs would get covered and to bring it to a Volkswagen dealership which is what I did. The people at the front desk were courteous. They directed me to someone in parts named Mike Vasquez. I can't even begin to describe Mike. But the first word that comes to mind is incompetent. I normally don't write reviews this terrible, but I truly need to talk about HOW BAD this employee is. He wrote up my estimate after he saw the parts I needed. Let me add, I made him aware several times that the claim NEEDED to go through SilverRock. Not me, since I would not be paying for the services. For about two weeks, Mike pestered me to no end and constantly called my phone SEVERAL TIMES A DAY to ask me questions that anyone with common sense would've known to call SilverRock with since I didn't have the answers. I was constantly stressed out. There were even a few times where he would forget to hang up the phone after leaving me minute long messages. I even had to call SilverRock myself (which is not their policy- THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD BE DEALING DIRECTLY WITH SILVERROCK) and have them personally reach out to Mike several times to make him aware OVER AND OVER again about what exactly the process was. He scheduled my appointment, stating he already had all the parts but his mood rushed and agitated that I was already annoyed at one point because it was exasperating to deal with him. And then decided to call me THE DAY BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT to tell me I would not be allowed to come to the appointment if he couldn't figure out how VW was getting payed since he "would not be in." At this point SilverRock had on file that they had answered all his questions and I had to make them call him back again. I get to the appointment where Jimmy graciously took over. I was in the dealership for 20 minutes when Jimmy tells me that only ONE PART came in and not two. WHY DID MIKE CONFIRM TWO PARTS IN AND SCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT WHEN HE WAS NOT SURE? Again: these are things that someone with basic common sense would check. I told Jimmy I wanted him to continue to handle the service for the car from here on out and not Mike-we were able to schedule the appointment seamlessly and he called a few days later & confirmed having ALL the parts. He also promised me a free oil change for the inconvenience- which was nice of him to do- but I still haven't received it yet. I came in for my appointment, at 9am and waited until about 1pm for my car. The wait time was terrible. During that time, Mike came in and aggressively, accusing me of complaining about him (which I did) & then gave me a half assed apology stating he was new. I don't really think that makes up for having zero common sense, customer service etiquette or anything else for that matter. PLEASE, for the sake of your business: Do yourselves a favor and GET RID OF MIKE VASQUEZ. This whole process has really turned me off with the dealership and I hope that there are other more competent employees that work for the company because he truly is the bottom of the barrel. read more

Went in this weekend for an oil change that I thought I needed, turns out that I wouldn't for 3 more months! They change it anyway for me. Had the pleasure of dealing with the Service Manager Richie. I've never experienced such quality or such a nice person at a car dealership before. They topped off all of my liquids and changed the oil al in under 45 minutes, while I waited in the customer lounge. In the past, before I had a Volkswagen, I would dread going to get an oil change and it would be well over an hour of waiting around doing nothing or worrying about leaving it and coming back for it. I bought my car from this dealer never had a problem until now. I took it in for a repair and paid $135 fee to see what the problem is. Then I get a phone call the next day thinking they found the problem and how much to fix it. NOPE he tells me I need to pay $500 more just to take a look. I ask why and what is the problem. He didn't know he just wanted more money. I said NO that is robbery and took my car somewhere else. They stole $135 from me for a job they didn't even do.
