My husband and I went in and I had ordered my soft tacos without tomatoes. When the food arrived it had tomatoes. The server quickly realized and offered to get it fixed. I was really hungry so I said it was ok. Then the food runner (who had delivered the food) came back to is and apologized for the mistake. I thanked her and said it was ok. Later the manager came over and apologized and asked if he could remake them. I assured him that the bartender/server had already offered and that all was ok. When our bill arrived the server said that the manager had removed the Mai Tai from our bill as an apology for the mistake with my order. Wow!!! How great is that! This is a great Islands! Wow! Not only was the food awesome as usual, but also the service was Temecula Islands friendly and totes on point. Aaron was the visiting manager and he totally embodied the Islands Aloha spirit. We had the chicken tortilla soup that was piping hot and fantastically fresh as always and some fresh cut fries. So yummy! One of our favorite things about choosing to eat at Islands is their commitment to guest experience that includes keeping an eye out and never letting a bottomless dish or glass get totally empty. I've been wanting to take my mom out to lunch and I know she loves this place and it had been a while since we came here before today. I brought my mom and my girlfriend to lunch here today and what a lovely experience did we all have. Normally this place gets super busy but we got there at around 3 pm and there was a decent amount of people but it wasn't busy. This young gentleman was our server and he was really kind and attentive and it didn't seem like he was putting up a front because he wanted a good tip. His gestures and helpfulness seemed quite sincere which I really pay attention to and that really matters to me and it should matter to everyone I believe. I ordered the Hawaiian burger which was cooked just right and it was absolutely delicious. My mom got the soup and salad and my girlfriend got a rice bowl which I also tasted and it was just fantastic. I was able to use the restroom and they were clean, smelled fresh and fully stocked. My family and I came here for an early dinner. This was our first time at this location and we are glad we came in to eat. The service was outstanding from the hostess till we left. The hostess let us know about the islands App so we could get free chips and salsa! Our waitress was also very attentive and made sure we were never without refills or anything else. Hubby tried the new French onion burger, he said it was the best burger he's had in a while! He got it without tomatoes and lettuce, he said it would be too much with those two ingredients added. Food is on point the only issue is the service been three times and every time waitress' are rude bothered by you and talk over you. Asked for nachos and was if I wanted everything on them I said yes. Then the waitress proceeded to name every ingredient if I wanted it and had to say yes to everything again. Had to remind waitress of items ordered. When we came in we asked for two tables because wife has leg injury and we had our three kids and wanted to be able to allow my wife to put her leg in both. Waitress said who sat us down like that I said the guy at the front because we asked for it and she said why dirty two tables? When we go to a bigger table I said because we asked too. This is one of my wife's favorite go to spots. She loves coming here purely for the Bleunami burget with extra blue cheese crumbles and dressing (. Com! You gotta try it! Tonight we also tried the Moa Mauna Loa Crisp and is all I can say. Definitely gave me extra reason to look forward to coming. Compared to the Riverside location which we frequent because of family in the area, this one is ON POINT . Food was great tasting. Don't get the well, it's terrible, and after ordering a well and coke, I asked for a double, Makers Mark, I get a literal glass full of Makers Mark, charged $18.00, and no coke. My GF got their Pina Colada - no booze, Pretty sure it's pre-made slurpee mix, took her 30 minutes for her stomach not to hurt after drinking it. I ordered the Island sandwich - soggy bread, nasty lettuce, barely any meat, and don't get the coleslaw - it's gross. GF ordered fish Taco's - she was unable to finish them due to how bad they were. So I came here with my hubby and ordered the chicken wrap which comes with avocado and I stated that I didn't want avocado because I am allergic to it. When the meal came out there was avocado on my wrap. I advised the waitress when she came back and she assured me she would make a new one. The manager came over and apologized for the error and expressed his major concerns seeing as I do have an allergy. A new fresh wrap arrived (my husband has now finished eating) and was avocado free and I could tell was actually just freshly made. Then bill came, I put my card in the holder and handed it to the waitress. When she came back the bill was much cheaper- she said the manager wanted to pay for my lunch because of the error. It was handled nicely from the start and I was just happy to get a freshly made new wrap without avocado. I didn't expect it to be paid for/comped. Tonight the service was amazing! We never had to ask or want for anything. Water always magically appeared out of nowhere. Our server, Christine, always asked if we wanted more fries before our serving was even finished. And the fries came out hot, fresh, and crispy just how we like it. We visited Islands today, Awesome! The first time in over two months we actually got to dine in! Food was wonderful, staff was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was very relaxing. Social distancing was provided by limiting tables and booths to allow for one empty between customers. Employees were wearing masks and gloves. My wife and I have been going to Islands for years. We were glad when they reopened due to COVID-19. We have been twice in the last month. It's great to know there is restaurants that still care about quality of food and service. They have done a remarkable job with the outside patio. We usually go later in the evening. We asked for heaters. They were quick to bring not one but two heaters to our table. They were extremely busy but service was still on point and our food came out quick. My husband and I have already been long-time patrons of Islands Restaurants and love their food and friendly service. Tonight the Restaurant and particularly this evening's manager Alyssa reaffirmed our high regard for this establishment. As the old saying goes, "nobody's perfect" all the time, and there ended up being a single-entree discrepancy between what came home with my husband and the order I thought I placed by phone. Islands must train their employees very well throughout their various levels of responsibility because although the first individual I spoke with did not have managerial authority, he wasted no time empathizing with my disappointment and seeking a desirable solution to satisfy me as the customer right away. He also used wisdom and did not personally promise anything he did not have the authority to provide. Rather, he quickly offered to let me speak with his manager Alyssa who listened attentively to my explanation of what I was dissatisfied over and quickly took FULL responsibility for the missing item and apologized sincerely for any inconvenience as well as offered a reasonable solution to remedy the dilemma. In this day and age it is so rare to find companies or individuals representing institutions of any kind who are willing to take responsibility when some customer expectation has not been met on their watch. Thankfully Islands is a leader in being an exception to that rule as demonstrated by both Alyssa and the young man who preceded her on my call. We continue to love Islands and are happy to recommend it all the more after seeing how that restaurant truly puts their customers first. Thank you to Alyssa and to rest of her team! We normally enjoy our meals here, but had something really underhanded happen last week. I ordered the quesadilla and asked for chicken added. The waitress asked if I wanted the spicy or grilled chicken... replied grilled. The menu listed an addl charge of about 2.50 for spicy chicken. Ok. When we got the bill, the grilled chicken had a 5.50 extra charge. We asked the waitress and she replied that grilled chicken is more. 5.50???? Are you kidding me??!! I can buy a pound of chicken for that and neither the menu or the waitress indicated that grilled chicken was more. I never would have added the chicken to the quesadilla for an extra $5.50. I can't help but feel they are being sneaky about that charge. read more

Our recent visit to Islands on Saturday around lunch time was a real treat! We had a fairly good size group (12 of us) and our server just went above and beyond. As perhaps many of us have worked in the restaurant industry we know that handling larger groups can be a real chore. Our server, Juliet, was just amazing even when we were often too busy visiting with each other she kept checking on us, refilling teas and waters and just doing an all around excellent job! I would normally rate the restaurant 4 stars (the burgers and fries were very good) but Juliet alone easily brings this review up to 5 stars. This was my first time ever experiencing Island's. I think if I had a family with a couple of little ones, I'd appreciate this place more. Lots of tvs to catch a game and a fun menu for kids. I didn't really care where we went, just as long as we could sit and talk. I did try the tortilla soup and it was very good. Not too salty and they gave a side of tortillas to place in the soup when needed. This is important because preloading the tortillas makes them soggy. I'm all about crunch, so adding them at your leisure is the the only way to go. I would say that the soup alone is worthy of the 2-star rating. I ordered some chicken tender app. I wasn't hungry at all. But I thought it was appropriate for me to order something. I would compare them to something you'd find at KFC or the frozen food aisle of Vons. I realized Island's was a family place as soon as I parked. So if you have a family and are looking to a have a decent dinner out, then Island's is for you. Wow did this place go down hill. We have eaten here before and I remember the food being pretty good, but I took the kids last night for dinner and my son wanted some buffalo wings...which I like and thought OK...until I saw that they wanted $12 for wings!!! I asked how many you get thinking maybe it a big order, but you get 10. Maybe we'll skip the $12 wings this time. I ordered a chicken sandwich that came on stale bread and the chicken was a little dry. All of our bread was a little stale - cracked on top. I ordered onion rings instead of fries and they gave me 4!!!! 4 Onion Rings!!! 4!!! what the heck? How much does an onion cost? A few cents???? I could have gone to Red Robbin and got AYCE fries with my sandwich. We only came here because Red Robin had a waiting line for a table, but we'll either wait or come earlier to get in there next time. Service was great.....unlike the food. We are willing to spend a minimum of three hours eating and drinking with our friends an they do not offer a single "football happy hour special"?!? Are you kidding me? We used to go here and Red Robin, when they both first opened. Red Robin is now inedible, I mean, gross! They switched their tea several years ago, from great to horrid, and everything else went down from there. So, now we come here to Islands on occasion. Islands is too expensive, and no mashed or baked potato option is a downer. Their food is really good, and always comes out HOT. This is about the only sit down place I can grab a bite to eat on my lunch hour. Excellent service and delicious burgers. They also have some healthier options like passing in the fries (hard to do) and get broccoli or getting a turkey burger with a wheat but that still taste great.
