The staff were friendly and accommodating. We appreciate how they continued to check in to see how we were doing. We ordered the breakfast sampler, which had Richie's finest wood-smoked meats, fresh eggs, roasted potatoes and wheat bread. I must say that the highlight of the meal was the smoked meat. I came here with my family for a late lunch on the weekend. There was no wait and the staff was very helpful. They have specials at different times but I ended up ordering the regular meal for the California burger. I also ordered the peanut butter shake and cinnamon roll for dessert. The burger was cooked well but it had a lot of veggies, it was hard to get a bite of everything. The French fries were good and fresh. The peanut shake was the perfect consistency. I had a hard time choosing just one dessert. There are a lot of appealing options and I feel like I made a great choice with the cinnamon roll. This is my go-to diner spot for a classic breakfast. I always order their country friend steak with extra gravy and a biscuit. We visited for breakfast in need of coffee. My mom loves that her senior meal comes with a hot cup of coffee included. I had their "Pride of the Diner #1" which consists of two eggs, strips of perfectly cooked bacon, homestyle potatoes, and a fresh and fluffy cinnamon roll. The included premium Colombian coffee was fresh, smooth, and rich. Everything tasted really good! Service was great. This place is off the charts honestly, wish we had one back east. The food was amazing, steak cooked to perfection, eggs were great, and the hash browns were most likely the best thing about It. Not sure what they put on those but they were really good. The inside reminds you of an 80's style diner which brings good vibes. A little disappointed with Richie's. My sausage gravy wasn't hot at all, and they can be more generous when serving it with biscuits. Saturday, 12-14-2024: Our son was visiting us today so we decided to eat at our favorite diner. Our server, Erica was very exuberant and hospitable. She took our orders right away. Hubby opted for a chicken fried steak, I only wanted chicken noodle soup, and our son wanted the sourdough burger. Everybody enjoyed the meal except for me. This was the worst chicken noodle soup I've ever tasted. The noodles were thick & starchy, the chicken meat looked like it came from a can, and the broth itself did not taste good. It did not taste fresh, which I mentioned to Erica. She told me they changed the recipe. They need to change it back because the soup used to be so tasty & fresh with shredded chicken & vegetables. It was my birthday and our anniversary - so the perfect cinnamon roll was the mission! A friend recommended this place , so we thought we'd give it a shot. George was out on the grill, paused what he was doing to welcome us and open the door. Once he found out it was our first time he briefly have us a rundown of what to expect. His customer service was top-notch the whole time! We were not planning on getting any food, just pick up the dessert to-go. Well we ended up ordering some food to go as well. As we waited, George showed us some steaks he was cooking up as an example of what to expect next time we stay to dine. He THEN proceeded to give us two strawberry milkshakes ON THE HOUSE. Let me tell you it was a great experience, not only going in there and hearing all the '50s, '60s and '70s music but going through all the candy as you walk through that you grew up with as a kid like us of the '80s. Well our waitress was Tessie. She was absolutely fabulous. It was very nice to have some nice conversations with her and what a great waitress she is. Our Waters always full food came out promptly. It is period decorated, and this week, with plenty of graduations decorations. Next week, it will be Father's Day's celebration. It's fun to observe the timeless items on the walls and everywhere. Richie's is Always busy. They have thousands of regular customers. The staff is very attentive and working fast and furious. We always tip the staff generously. Their menu is huge and features all American favorites. The large smoky meat grill is outside in front. Put your name on the waiting list. I'm pretty sure all customers are on a first come basis. We four were celebrating my daughters' graduations. In the end, the kitchen was slow today. No doubt, they were overwhelmed with orders from the packed house of graduations celebrating. None of us were thrilled with our meals today. Everything was a bit lackluster and just not worth the rising menu costs. I understand prices rising, But this restaurant has gotten pretty high since we started going. The final bill was unexpectedly high, and we tipped the staff very nicely. They earned it. I doubt we'll go back again. It's a shame, as we enjoyed going often in years past.Somehow, my heart says to continue to recommend Richie's Diner in Murrieta. read more
