Good old Islas Canarias, this place has been here all my life. I remember I used to visit the one on Eighth Street and 27th Avenue, right in the corner. They had the best arroz con pollo, now a lost art. I came to get some snacks, ham croquettes and a papa rellena. Good as always, and good service.

After being away for a long time, I decided to go back to East Cannada, since I heard that it was doing very well and happy So we started off with Mariquita'sS and right away they were soggy and old we returned them. The new ones came hot and good. The location looks very nice. They really did a great job remodeling it and it was pretty busy.. I saw that the prices were higher now so I said well. The food is probably better now. I was correct the food was amazing. I ordered half a chicken boneless grilled and it was amazing. Just like the old days back in 2005 great onions great rice great beans to go with it. It was amazing.Awesome thick palomilla w rice and beans yummmm amazing so happy things got better actually great! Flan de queso was amazing also they have drinks now a plis w dinner. ! I am fan again love it.

The best Cuban breakfast in Miami. I said what i said. Ambiance is usually decent - place is always busy and there's movement at all times - I think the decor could be updated

Best Rabo There is in Miami hands down. Flavorful and fall off the bone Rabo. Service and ambiance are always great here. You will be seated fast and service is very attentive and great. Love coming here!

This is just a staple around this area and we've recently visited a couple of times (not to mention numerous times throughout several years). Food is usually pretty well seasoned and cooked. Service is good and can be quite fast when not busy. The restaurant is huge, I've never had to wait personally (I'm sure some people may have). Located in a shopping center, free parking available. Ambience gives a homey feel, could definitely be a bit loud though lol.

We were in the mood for good food and decided to try this place. The professionalism and service was on point the whole time we were there. We ordered the milanesa de res, bistec auténtico and pasta (mom's a vegan). The food portion was big and everything was delicious. Finished it with a flan. Loved that their menu had tons of choices. Definitely recommend.

Big restaurant, nice looking. Big menu. Waitstaff very nice and pleasant, but nobody speaks a lot of English. That's ok, the menu is in both Spanish and English so just point at what you want. We got chicken croquettes, chicken with garlic cream sauce, and pulled chicken with onions. All totally delicious. We got white rice and fried plantains. Yummy. All great. Totally reasonable price. Worth the trip. Will be back.

Islas Canarias is a Miami staple. I prefer Islas Canaria's to many other Cuban spots. I especially love to order coffee at Islas Canarias. I've spoken to some people that say that the best croquettas are from Islas Canarias. A casual spot. Great service .

Every time I'm in Miami I must get a guava pastry and Cuban coffee. Islas Canarias was the closest Cuban restaurant to where I was staying so I took a walk and made my way over. The place was pretty busy on a Thursday morning around 9 am. We went straight to the coffee counter to order some bevies and grab some pastries. While we didn't try items from the regular menu everything looked delicious. The women behind the counter were really sweet and brought over our coffee at a table once they were done. And then right before we left another server brought us over lollipops and thanked us for stopping in. Great service and even better Cuban coffee.

I had nice server named Lucelly N. I love the food and ambience of the restaurant. I had to order some Ham Croquettes to go because they are the best in Miami. I am looking forward to my leftovers. I love the authentic Cuban food.

Food was amazing the service wasn't the best and the ambience very family friendly. The shrimps in garlic with white rice and tostones were delicious. Can't wait to come back for more. La comida era increíble, el servicio no era el mejor y el ambiente era muy familiar. Los camarones en ajo con arroz blanco y tostones estaban deliciosos. No puedo esperar a volver por más.

We came yesterday for dinner as my niece came into town and wanted croquetas. We ordered croquetas as an appetizers and as always they were delicious. To eat, I tried the vaca frita with moro and fufu de plátanos con chicharrones. Everything was delicious. My niece ordered the croqueta preparada, which she loved. I loving coming here to eat delicious food for a decent price.

I never thought I would say this but the food (and the croquetas) are not good here anymore. I am especially disappointed in the croquetas... there used to be so much more ham and flavor. They were served not even warm and were very doughy instead of having that healthy pink ham color. The Islas Canarias "best of Miami" days are over. It's the end of an era. Service was terrible, food didn't come out warm or hot. The beans were almost cold. So sad. I grew up on this food and it's gone downhill. I'm so sad to say that I will probably never go back.

The shop is small with only the shared outdoor seating with other nearby restaurants. The Pan Con Bistec was very tasty and I liked the crispy bits inside. The flavor of the sauce could have been more pronounced but otherwise a really good sandwich. The Pan con Lechon was okay overall because it tasted very one note flavor and texture wise. The meat was moist and tender but I preferred the Bistec and the Cubano. They also provided a garlic dipping sauce which was very flavorful. However I felt that it overpowered a lot of the sandwich flavors. I also got the Mamey Batida which was smooth and subtle with its sweetness. My first time having a Batida and I really liked the consistency but will probably be choose a different flavor next time.

During live performances, one waitress would get up on stage and play instruments and at other times bartenders would join in. I was truly smiling from ear to ear all night. I drank delicious mojitos all night and even with a packed venue the drinks came out extremely fast! Although the restaurant was packed, our waitress remained extremely kind and attentive throughout the night. To me, the food was just good. We had the Jamón Serrano Croquetas to start. They were a little cold for my taste and not the best I've ever had but they weren't bad. My husband really loved his skirt steak ropa vieja and didn't leave a single grain of rice. I opted for the rabo encendido pasta. I like that they weren't skimpy on the rabo. The downside of this place is that to maximize space, you're packed in like sardines. The tables are basically on top of each other. A larger sized person would not fit getting in and out of their seat and my husband was constantly backing up into the people seated behind him. Overall, this is a place you definitely visit for the atmosphere above food. I will 100% be coming back for drinks, appetizers and more live music.
