Asked for acrylic almond shaped nails with ombré tips and showed the tech a reference image and got this as a result. The technician made a rude comment about my color choice and when I asked for her opinion on better suggestions she walked over to the next technician. I have had pedicures and acrylic fills there. My fills weren't very good and usually needed repair. I now get the best fill that lasts forever at Innervisions in the Gilman Village which is the best!!! It's worth going down the hill! Their pedicures are a hit or miss. Sometimes they're good because they massage and work hard on your callouses, cuticles, and nails. But sometimes bad because they're going through the motions. At those times, it's not a "real" pedicure and I feel a 5-year-old could have done better. Also, it is a cash-only business and charges a fee if you pay with cash. read more

I'd definitely take the Yelp score with a grain of salt; a lot of the more negative reviews are from years ago and many docked stars from the technicians for customer service because they aren't good at English so certain phrases come out a bit terse/rude-sounding to the native speaker, but these ladies are all very nice, professional, and they do a great job. Got shellac red nails for the holidays since it was my first time here and wanted to go simple first before doing anything too crazy. Love my nails, they're super shiny and the application was very smooth. My technician Oanh was super gentle when it came to cuticle trimming, and checked with me the entire time when she laid the color on to make sure I liked it before continuing. I grew up in Klahanie, and I've always wanted to come here. Twelve years later, I'm visiting my family over the weekend and stopped on by because I had ruined my old manicure. I was seated almost immediately and the tech did her best to try to replicate the admittedly difficult design I found on Instagram. It was a nice, if basic manicure. She filed my awful nails into something decent, and did the usual cuticle care and arm and hand massage. The nails didn't quite turn out the way I wanted them to but they still look pretty good! The issue is the price. Yes, I realize this is Klahanie and Sammamish and everything here is required to be way more expensive than your usual but $15 for a manicure is pretty high, and $35 for a shellac + $7 for past removal is kind of ridiculous. No dings on the service, everyone was kind, professional, and did their job well. Oh I almost forgot...they post up the legal copies of checks that had been returned due to NSF or stop payments as a sort of wall of shame. When I was washing my hands there I could've easily memorized the account numbers and find a way to commit fraud. Come on guys, as someone who works in banking, please don't jeopardize your customers' accounts that way. read more

I have been here a number of times but decided to write a review today. I decided to get acrylics done for Super Bowl (Go Hawks!!) and they got me in without an appointment. I had found a couple of pics on Pinterest that I liked, and we were able to come up with some great Seahawks nails. The ladies are always super nice even when you know they are slammed busy. I think the lack of chatting to the customer is partially a language barrier, but doesn't bother me. I came in as a walk-in recently after an appointment nearby. It was just on a whim so of course there was a little bit of a wait, but they managed to squeeze me in. I made myself a little bit of coffee at their little coffee station while I waited. Just came in for a simple manicure, so no super complicated procedures and it was my first one ever! The nail technician, Cathy I believe, servicing me was very kind and just matched my level of chattiness. The price seems to be normal. I liked having all the lotion and massage, and my nails were all even and very pretty when they were done! I was really happy and couldn't stop looking at them for weeks (yup they lasted a few weeks!). She did nip me once when cutting my cuticles so I had a little bit of bleeding, but she apologized and i didn't mind. I had a nasty burn on my hand from a mistake I made cooking, and she was very careful not to hurt me. Everything was sanitary. No other frills, when she was done she had me sit and let them dry and had to go work others but it never felt like she was rushing with me. Thank you! :) I wish that I had been aware of tipping culture at the time. I think Cathy, really deserved it and I didn't think of tipping at all. I'm very sorry about that. I was in here on 8/30/2014 with my 4 year old daughter for a special daughter/mother afternoon and to relieve her dad for an afternoon. I had a manicure and a pedicure, and they painted my daughter's nails. They were so patient with my daughter. I normally wouldn't take a 4 year old in but it was a special day. I came in for a full set, I called in a bit earlier and they said that they could accommodate us. I had been there a couple of years back, but I didn't remember what the experience was like so I figured I'd give it a try. Tina did my pedicure and manicure. She convinced me that my nails are nice enough to just do a gel manicure. She did a lovely french manicure and a pedicure with a pretty flower. I keep looking at my nails because they look so wonderful and I love them so much. She did a quick neck massage which my nails cured. She was friendly and we chatted a bit. So please bring cash if possible. -Opened till 7 most nights. Walk in's accepted, but you can make an appt. -Opened like 10-4 on Sundays. -Prices are high for the quality/location. I really want to mislead the Yelpers away from here because it is my small corner of heaven. Best nail salon I've ever been to (even beats Frenchy's!!). Super friendly staff (most know me by name), incredibly clean with good decor -- they even decorate for holidays year round! Current magazines, satellite radio and the quiet hum of chit chat. The staff is really the game changer though. All are very friendly and adept at what they do. I prefer getting fills with Amy or Lynzy. Pedicures are long, relaxing and well worth it. Great polish selection (mostly OPI). They recently began offering Shellac and while I haven't made the switch, many women rave about it when they're in the salon with me. If you are getting your nails done on a weekday, you probably can get by without an appointment. Saturdays, be sure to come before 3pm or expect a long wait. Best to play it safe with an appointment. My daughter and I decided to get pedicures as a fun outing together. We decided to give this place a try on a recommendation from a friend. We were seated quickly and the ladies did a clean job painting. Good basic pedicure. I have to say I was disappointed in the overall experience though. The ladies were cordial, but not very friendly to us which is sad because I wanted this to be a special experience for my daughter since it was her first pedicure. They didn't really talk to us, just to each other. When I showed them the picture of the design I wanted (it was really simple), they told me to go pick out polish, which I did. Apparently it was the wrong polish because they kept saying no and go back again. This happened 3 times. No one showed me what I was supposed to be choosing from. It was pretty frustrating. Then the lady who painted my nails kept asking me which design I wanted and proceeded to try to change it to something they had on their design chart. I had showed her the picture several times, so I don't understand what the confusion was. How hard is it to paint a blue toenail with stars on it and red stripes on the rest? The lady kept trying to make it fancier and more difficult than it was. I don't know if I will be back. It's convenient, clean and quick but it wasn't the experience I had hoped for. I came here with my little sister the day of a school dance to get our nails done. Generally I tend not to go here but it is convenient so we gave it a shot. Ultimately it was a bad experience. My sister's manicure came off the day after she got it done while my shellacks began peeling 5 days after I got them done. Really the manicures were both sloppy and rushed and while both ladies seemed somewhat cordial it was intimidating to tell them to fix something after having already asked them to fix three mistakes. Dede is the one who helped me and she was so extremely rude to me after she forced me to tip her. She would not run my card without adding a tip and then when she didn't like my amount I gave her (after questioning it) she gave me a horrible attitude. I visited the Sammamish location of this salon for the first time today. I normally drive into Redmond to get my nails done but decided to try something local. I walked in around 3pm and although really busy, a girl was able to seat me right away. I was just planning to get a spa pedicure but the girl told my my fingernails looked "bad" and asked me if I wanted a manicure as well. So of course I went along with it. The results were good. The attention to detail and quality of services was good.The decor was up-to-date and clean. The salon was a bit cramped though, people walking by bumped into my chair a few times. There was a bit of bickering with an unhappy client when I was there. I think the language barrier between staff and clientele was causing some problems. Overall a good experience and CHEAP! $43 dollars for a spa pedicure and french manicure I will be back. read more

I've been to this place three times now because it's so close to me and each time I've had a bad experience. There is no customer service and such a small selection of colors. The quality of the job is lacking too. Even though it is so close to where I live, I can't justify coming here any more. First time I saw Tom, I asked for shellac and picked my color and he was very unfriendly with me, he cut my fingers twice and just kept going although it was still bleeding, the shellac lasted about 5 days before peeling off. Second time I saw who I think is the owner in the first chair. I again asked for shellac thinking maybe I just need to find a good technician, I picked my color and she started painting and could see the polish was old or bubbly, something was wrong with it. She added something to it and it hadn't fixed the issue. She called another person over and after discussing she just asked me to pick a different color. Instead of re doing it, she just put THREE coats, in addition to my first two over my nails. It still looked bubbly and was hideous. She offered no discount, no apology, nothing. This time, I am coming for a pedicure only as I have found a new salon for my manicures. The technician hasn't said one word to me. She is rushing because they seem to be busy, as if I'm not already paying higher than normal price for pedicures. Avoid the FAT one at all cost. She does a terrible job and messed up the nail polish so many times. When you tell her to fix things, she pretends she doesn't understand you and plays dumb. I get a mani/pedi maybe once a year, only when I'm going on vacation or have a super special event. I'm not a picky person, my expectations are fairly low and my knowledge of proper procedure is very limited. They did a good job but the attitude made me SUPER uncomfortable. The girl doing my pedicure was nice but she stopped 3 or 4 times during to make a phone call on her cell or play on her phone which I felt was strange. The girl doing my manicure was really rude. I asked her not to cut my nails since they're not very long to begin with and she scoffed at me and said "well what am I supposed to do then, huh?" cue awkward pause and then the pedicure lady suggested just to file them down a bit which was fine. They seemed to be arguing back and forth and the manicure girl tossed the soaking bowl of water into the pedicure tub splashing soapy water all over my work pants. I tried to start some small talk a few times with the gal doing my nails, saying the color looked nice and such but she just rolled her eyes and said "mmmhm". If it had been $15 or $20 for the shellac manicure I wouldn't have really cared, you get what you pay for but it was $35 freaking dollars! It was $65 for a shellac manicure and a pedicure and for that amount I was expecting more. The end product was fine but I felt so awkward and uncomfortable for most of the experience that I couldn't relax at all. Which is kind of the point of getting your nails done. read more

I did not tell her to do this. WHAT A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I was leaving I asked the owner about the price. She confirmed it was $20. I told her that I was charged $26 . She started speaking loudly in her language to the nail tech about this and she said that the tech thought I wanted to leave her a $6 tip and sorry she does not speak good English. That is BS. There was no offer to make this right or give me my $6 back. More eye rolling and dirty looks from the nail techs. Who do these people think that they are. What a joke. My husband and I chose this spot because of the proximity to our house. We both had a pedicure. His was fine though he did wish they had worked a little more thoroughly on the cuticles. Mine looks nice. Massage wasn't great - she used her nails on the bottom of my feet which just hurt. I'm not sure this place is entirely sanitary which is why we won't go back. They do a quick spray and wipe of the pedicure tubs between clients and I have a feeling they might reuse the toe separators as I saw a basket collecting used ones instead of a trash can.
