One of the best Italian options in the area. I love their mozzarella and tomato caprese, fettuccine alfredo, cannoli, and sangaria. The owners and most of the staff are friendly and laid back, in a good way. The restaurant and bathrooms are clean and organized. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, not necessarily causal, but not at all formal. The restaurant is a little small and tight, so don't expect to have a private experience, unless they are not busy. Great Italian food! We've done both dine in and take out. My personal favorite is the Mama Mia's spaghetti & meatballs. Have them add in the italian sausage. It's great. We've make it a point to have dinner there monthly. Service is great, food outstanding, great italian bread and sangria is sweet and delicious. This is Riverview's hidden gem. Spent $50 on three canolies two plates of Alfredo that tasted like water it didn't even have chicken. We didn't even want to take the food home to reheat salt didn't help either.and The waitress ignored us till we left. I won't be back any time soon if ever. I was so disappointed given the fact that friends of my be used to own the place and it was excellent. It was completely understaffed. The owner sat in front drinking wine and talking in the phone in shorts and a tee shirt while the 1 waiter ran around like a chicken with its head cut off! Little gem hidden in a strip mall. Absolutely beautiful decor inside. It was empty on (cold) Saturday night and frankly don't understand why. I just gotta say "you all are missing out!" Nothing makes a cold night cozier than a nice bowl of pasta. Excellent staff and great food to match. From soup and salad all the way to the pastas. I had the baked tortellini...if it was socially acceptable I would lick the plate because their special sauce was to die for. My husband had their special "Romeo and Juliet". Of course, I had a bite (or two or five) of his and once again can someone bring me a gallon of the sauce please?! With all honesty, yes, I had some better tasting pasta (taking about just plain pasta) but the sauces were outstanding. I don't eat meat but husband said the chicken in his dish was juicy and tasty and believe me - for him to say the chicken was good it must had been good! The portions were definitely worth the money and I'm already excited for the leftovers. Next time I'm trying their tiramisu and hoping it won't disappoint. read more

If i could give this place a zero stars I would. What a waste of my time. We waited for a seat. Our server... female with dark hair... never told us her name...never brought us bread.... I asked her 3 times for plates when the other server finally brought us bread. She screwed up my kid's calamari with no parsley on it and never put in my order or my husband's order...we literally sat there for over an hour with no food. I finally asked for the manager and he told us then that he was making our order the priority for the chef...I got up and walked out. Im a chef. I would never have sent calamari with something someone specifically asked for there to not be on it. The server put the calamari in as an appetizer even after i told her it was my daughter's diner. What a terrible experience...i will NEVER eat at this restaurant again..and i will tell Everyone I know what a horrible place this is! read more

Great food, decent prices and attentive staff! I ordered the Romeo and Juliet and it was delicious! My hubby had the spaghetti and meatballs and was very happy with his meal as well! Enjoyed our meals here. The service was great and the Sangria's are the best in town! My husband had the all time favorite spaghetti and meatballs and I filled up on their amazing Chicken Alfredo Your Way and I added shrimp which were succulent and huge. I would highly recommend this restaurant to those who like a smaller environment with personal service. They were very busy for Mother's Day but the service was great and it did not take long for our food to arrive. They were certainly prepared for the day and they even gave all Mothers a fresh cut red rose. Excellent food, great service and wonderful environment. read more

The Italian Kitchen is a great little spot. Not what you would expect in a strip mall. Sometimes the service is a little spotty, but the food is usually great. Everything I have ever had there is really good, with lots of flavor and everything tastes fresh; from the salads to the desserts. Not the greatest wine list, but not the worst. We went on a Sunday at 2 and we should of known that being the only ones in the whole restaurant was a sign. The staff were less than welcoming. The menu sounded delicious, but quite pricey though. We ordered the baked tortellini, baked ziti, chicken parmesan, and the lasagna. With such a variety, we would expect one to taste as delicious as the menu sounds. Unfortunately, ever pasta dish was so runny that it might as well have been soup. I repeat, do NOT get any pasta dish. The chicken parm tasted chewy and disappointing. Everything was just bland (even the diet coke- how is diet coke bland?) We stayed for awhile and were still the only ones in the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. We received a thank you yell on the way out and that was as personable as the staff was with us. We don't plan to go back. read more

Noisy, bad music, impersonal waiter rushed, and sub standard food for the price they charge. The Bolognese sauce (for which they charge extra if you ask for it instead of their standard sauce) is is so thin and watery that pool of the thin liquid will collect on you plate. So we went here for the first time since the place opened; mostly cuz I have lived in South Fla for the last few years but it has good reviews so we went back...Prices are really good; I had spaghetti and meatballs and thought it was great! Our bad experience has to do with our waiter who suggested my daughter order shrimp scampi when all she wanted was to substitute chicken for shrimp with alfredo sauce! She does not like scampi; so they made scampi w/alfredo and it was horrible; tried to add a couple more bowls of alfredo; did not work; would have been satisfied had they offered to split cost....crickets! My girlfriend and I love to support local businesses and restaurants and we thought we would give this place a try. As we walked into the restaurant we saw we were the only people in the place on a Sunday afternoon which should have been a sign and we learned really quick exactly why. The staff was very short and not personal at all almost like we were bothering them when we were the only people in the place. We ordered lasagna and chicken Parmesan. The lasagna was very runny and tasted almost like it hadn't been cooked all the way through. The chicken Parmesan was very tough and bland with no flavor at all. Lasagna is a big deal in our house and mostly I don't order it out because it's so hard to beat homemade lasagna. Italian Kitchen did it. Hands down some of the best lasagna I've ever had. Excellent Italian cuisine, my wife and I go often and Edson is the heart of this restaurant. The food is amazing, the calamari and bruschetta are unmatched. One night my wife decided to go off menu and ask for the Chicken Florentine but with Shrimp instead... Edson was happy to comply and the dish was unbelievable.
