I loved the dishes we ordered. I got the beef rib ravioli. If you like a cream sauce, it's so delicious. My husband got the spicy arrabiata. He loved it, it had a little bit of spicy sausage with a red sauce. We shared a Caesar salad. This is my favorite Italian restaurant in the Treasure Valley.

Excellent service and atmosphere. Kirsten was our server and made us feel right at home! Our food was awesome...Chicken Carbonara and Linguini with the House-recipe Bolognese. Soooo good. We also enjoyed a side salad. Bread was a little dry :( and we wish they had Pepsi products, but all in all it was a great meal!

This is the best Italian food in the entire state of Idaho and I will die on that hill. This rivals Italian restaurants in other big market cities and states easily. The food is fresh, bold, and incredibly satisfying beyond belief. The bruschetta appetizer is outstanding. The salmon was cooked to perfection better than any other restaurant I have visited including restaurants in coastal areas such as Washington, Maryland, Oregon, and California. The pesto pilaf it comes with is so flavorful and provides excellent texture and flavor contrast to the salmon. The Northender veggie with Linguine is a creamy, beautifully made pesto vegetarian dish that needs absolutely no adjustment. Full of flavor and not lacking in any format. No meat; no problem. I highly recommend this restaurant and I highly recommend the dishes that I have provided pictures of. The chef and family recipes are excellent, borderline perfection.

OMG, three entrees, a pizza and a side each? We had so much food. It was all so good and well well worth $20 a head. I also couldn't skip the massive chocolate cake for dessert. Let me tell you - if you're a chocolate lover like me, DO NOT SKIP. $8 for a GIANT slice full of fudge and chocolate chips and homemade frosting. DIVINE. The atmosphere inside is so family comfy and open too, and the service was great! This is definitely going to be a staple in our house.

I ended my dining experience with another server finishing our service and a chat with the manager. The service we received that night was totally unacceptable. My friend wanted pasta for her birthday lunch. As reluctant as I was to suggest this place, I did. It's a middle point for the both of us. And maybe, just maybe this place has gotten better with their customer service. I arrived before my friend. I thought I'd grab us a table and a drink while I was waiting for her. Walked into the entrance. I was looked at and passed by the older server with dark brown hair. She came back out from the bar area and said "to go?". No, I was planning on dining here. She walks off and doesn't say two words to me. She stood there after she walked off like I knew what she was doing. I guess I was supposed to follow her? I feel like if you are so miserable at your job, then you should consider finding another gig. She sat me and I ordered an ice tea with extra lemon when my server greeted me. My ice tea came shortly before my friend arrived. It was humorous the slices of lemon that was served to me. They were on the brink of being rotten. The peel was all dried out. The pulp of the lemon was mushy and discolored. How in your right mind do you serve this to your customers? I would be so embarrassed as a server and a business owner if I pushed food out like this to my customers. If I wouldn't eat it, I would never serve it. Our server finally got to us and we got orders taken. I ordered spinach fettuccine with alfredo sauce. I did ask if some spinach can be mixed into my pasta. I love veggies with my pasta. For my side I got a salad with a balsamic vinegrett and my friend gave me her soup which was clam chowder. Soup and salad was dropped off first. We also go a little basket of garlic bread. The salad was fresh. It had a light helping of the balsamic vinegrett. It would have been tastier if it was dressed a little more. I will have to say the clam chowder was phenomenal! It was hearty and creamy. Beautiful chunks of clams and potatoes. It was savory and rich. It would be perfect on a really cold day. Dipping the garlic bread into the soup was the best! My lunch came at the right time. I was done with both my soup and salad so I can totally focus on my lunch. My dish looked good until i started mixing my pasta around. I noticed that the spinach I added was raw! Like, the chef made my pasta, forgot to add my spinach and just threw it in. I didn't even know what to think. How does a chef not take pride in their dish and just throw raw spinach at the last minute? Unfortunately the raw spinach cooled my dish so it was warm. I asked my server if she can just nuke it. If the chef couldn't even cook my spinach the first time, I wouldn't want him to go the extra mile for me the second time. My second plate of pasta came out. They "made me a new one". Night and day from my photos. My second round of pasta was hot, had more sauce and my spinach was cooked. If I could have gotten my first plate like this in the first place I wouldn't have had any issues. The second plate was good. The pasta was nicely cooked and coated by the alfredo. I had a couple bites but honestly lost my appetite. My pasta looked decent and I had no interest in eating it, horrible customer service can do that to me. I really wanted to have a good lunch here with my friend for her birthday. I left embarrassed that I even suggested this place. From my initial non hello to my raw spinach and sub par service, I remember vividly why I stayed away from this place. We used to celebrate mothers day here every year and even our last mothers day brunch our server was rude. I guess if you want decently priced Italian food with horrible service, Louie's is your joint. You'd think being a local joint, you'd try your hardest to keep local customers happy. I don't see myself recommending or eating at this joint any time soon.

Maia was our server, and she did a great job. Very friendly and attentive. She served our pizza and boxed our leftovers for us. We got the combo deep dish pizza with a house salad. The pizza came out faster than it has in the past, and it was still delicious. Maybe a bit too much tomato sauce, but the meat and veggies were very good, and the crust was yummy! My daughter and I had a hazy IPA to go with our meal, also tasty. Full Disclosure: I come here for special occasions. I love the deep dish pizza, but it does not love my waistline. But, we will most certainly be back!

They said that only one pizza was ready and the second should be out shortly, but five minutes later I was told that they made the wrong pizza so I would need to wait for them to start from the beginning on that one. So my one pizza stayed in a warmer while I waited for an additional 20 minutes before I could go back to my house much later than intended. I live five minutes away, but by the time I got home the first pizza was clearly not as hot as the second, and both were relatively lackluster in flavor. The amount of bread in their deep dish wouldn't be as much of a challenge if they put an adequate amount of sauce on, but both pies were incredibly dry because it was mostly bread and cheese. Overall, I have no reason to give them a second chance. The pies weren't flavorful, were terrible the next morning, and I spent too much time and money to have that much disappointment. Old Chicago will continue to be my go to for deep dish.

We arrived at just the nick of time as a pretty large crowd of people shoved themselves into the lobby almost immediately after we arrived. So much so, that we had to go behind the host station to even move through the lobby (consideration is no longer a forethought by others it seems). We were seated in a middle row booth at the bartender's station, which was a little odd. I would have preferred a booth or at least the corner table on this row, if asked. But with so many people waiting to be seated, I didn't want to be nitpicking...until they seated a large family with kids to the left of us and Ms. I-only-talk-at-level-10 to our right. Needless to say, hubby and I did a lot of nodding and smiling during dinner. Service was actually pretty good considering the volume of people in the bartender's section on top of all the drinks he had to do. I opted for the salad with my meal while my husband had the gnocchi soup. My salad looked spectacular but it had an odd tang to it that I couldn't quite put my finger on, so I only had a small amount. The breadsticks were warm, but not very fresh or the standard level of buttery on the outside. Hubby loved his soup. It took longer than usual for dinner to come out, but not an uncomfortable amount of time (25 minutes or so). My grilled chicken Margherita was exceptionally tender, smothered with the pesto and garlic sauce. The broccoli was perfectly steamed and lightly seasoned. My husband's chicken parmigiana was a different story, unfortunately. One chicken breast was overcooked to the point of being burnt to a crisp. The other was fine, but he literally could not eat 3/4th of one chicken breast. I could tell how sad he was. The total meal with soft drinks was almost $50. I would hope for an almost $21 chicken parm, he'd be able to eat the entire meal.
