We stopped by for a quick bite on our way up to Idaho City. I had been to the Mancinos in Caldwell years before so i hoped this location would be just as good. I ordererd number #6 Italian Combo, my friend ordered number 14# Ham, Roast, and Turkey. Both are the top 2 sellers for the store. The young man who took our order was both professional and friendly. Our food arrived on short order and was just as o remembered, chewy warm bread filled with a generous amount of meat, accompanied by a bag of chips. We ordered the regular size and we could only eat half ( BTW, it still tasted great the next day heated up). Great food, recommended for a quick bite thats better than your average sub.

It's always nice to find a place that I can gladly give a 5 star rating. This local Italian cafe has some amazing food and the sandwiches are so flavorful and the bread is baked perfectly. I am adding this to my list of places to revisit as I want to try more of their food. Well done!

After waiting 40 minutes for our sandwhiches they were dry and my roast beef which was suppose to have m&m, lettuce, tomato, and extra cheese came to me hot with mustard and cheese only Maybe it was a bad day since kids were who made our lunches

The most disgusting pizza in town

Only giving one star cause I have too, nothing like thinking you're getting a freshly made pizza straight out from the oven, instead I got super weird looks when I came in, by the time I got to my destination and open the pizza box you could tell the pizza has been sitting out and not a freshly baked pizza old the sauce was brown/red the crust was as hard as rock absolutely disgusting i will Never return and will be spreading the word regarding this establishment

I can only comment about their combo sandwich with is toasted and very flavorful. Good portions. The bread holds together and is crusty.

Amazing food! #6 is where it's at, but honestly they're all so good because of the homemade bread. Love this place.

Even though the restaurant was absolutely packed when I arrived, they were able to get my order ready much earlier than originally scheduled. Yet I wanted to experience their take on Detroit pizza one last time before they lock the doors for good. Yesterday, I called to order a Detroiter pizza, my go-to pie since they opened, for takeout. The woman who answered the phone asked to put me on hold for a "short wait." Ten minutes later I was still on hold and hung up. Today, I decided to try again. I called at around the same time, 4:30 p.m., which normally has not been a busy time there before the dinner rush starts. This time, I was told to call back. What? So I went online and ordered there for pickup. I got an email back immediately, saying my order had been submitted but that it wasn't confirmed until I got a second email with my pickup time. More than an hour later, I'm still waiting for that second email. What a horrible operation they've become. Their pizza was excellent in the beginning and I didn't mind driving across town to a convenient location near the airport to pick up one of their pizzas. But as their quality slipped, I found myself going there less and less. Today's failure will be the last time I try before they close forever. All I have is the memories from better days.

Be sure to read the signs outside otherwise they won't seat you if you go through the takeout door. I saw it happen to a party of 4 who stood awkwardly in the takeout corner for about 20 minutes during peak rush. Other than that, there's plenty of table and bar seating available. We waited less than 5-10 minutes for a table of 2. The service was excellent! We were originally seated by the door, so we were getting blasted by the summer heat every time it opened. Once a table opened up away from it, our server offered to move us (and we did lol). We ordered two small pizzas, the Comet and the Idahoan. Both were delicious! We ended ordering their current special to-go, which was a BLT-style pizza. One small pizza is enough for two people but if you want to bring home leftovers, I recommend ordering two smalls! Another 10 before they came back with drinks and took our order. The appetizer was a puffed up bread which was fun to eat. They brought olive oil and what tasted like vinegar to eat it with. We ate that and it was another 20 minutes before they came to the table and told us they prioritized the take out orders over ours, "But your pizzas are now in the oven." The table behind us who also ordered an appetizer and 2 pizzas, were served 10 minutes before we were served. Always willing to overlook some hiccups in service if the food is good... unfortunately the food was terrible. We ordered a Don Ho and the sauce was so bland it was gross. The center of the pizza was so soft we thought, at first, it was under cooked. After looking at the bottom of the pie we could see it was cooked but we also noticed that the sauce was so watery it pooled in the center and made everything soft and gross. The margarita pizza was so overcooked the cheese was melted into the pizza and the basil leaves were wilted and yet crispy at the same time. Below is a picture of what it SHOULD have looked like, and a picture of what we got. It was so bad we actually sent it back and they said, "Well that's how we always make it." We had high hopes but after this all around lacking experience, we won't be back.
