I can confidently say that their sandwiches and pizzas have the same great ingredients, which creates a fantastic grinder. My go-to order is the #1 - ham and tomato. The crunchy bread and warm mayo are all you need. The other sandwiches, like the Italian, are so large they could easily feed three people. You really get your money's worth here. I had lunch there last Friday, and the Noglista soup in the same cup brought back fond memories. The service met all my needs in this cozy, two-person grinder shop; everything runs like clockwork. The atmosphere is low-key, adorned with many photos of sports teams, from the Broncos to the local little league teams that are sponsored by Manicos. My parents dropped by here the other day on our way to the lake. They grabbed 4 grinders for our little lake picnic. The grinders were good, however none of them had any veggies. JIM DESARO, refused to serve me because I had my service dog with me. I am missing most of my left arm and it's obvious I'm not trying to pass off a pet as a service dog. He said he doesn't allow pets. I told him she is my service dog and he said, " I don't see a vest. She needs a vest." I explained that by law she is not required to wear one and by law he is required to serve me. He told me I didn't know what I was talking about. " They need to rewrite the law then. That's why I've got my little sign out there." The sign says 'NO PETS'. I requested service and he turned around and walked away from me. I told him that I would report this and he said "Go ahead. We stopped by for a quick bite on our way up to Idaho City. I had been to the Mancinos in Caldwell years before so i hoped this location would be just as good. I ordererd number #6 Italian Combo, my friend ordered number 14# Ham, Roast, and Turkey. Both are the top 2 sellers for the store. The young man who took our order was both professional and friendly. Our food arrived on short order and was just as o remembered, chewy warm bread filled with a generous amount of meat, accompanied by a bag of chips. We ordered the regular size and we could only eat half ( BTW, it still tasted great the next day heated up). Great food, recommended for a quick bite thats better than your average sub. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. It's just "meh". I went during an off time, so there were no other customer's being helped except me. I didn't hear the phone ringing, so I have to assume the person helping me wasn't overwhelmed. An older man helped me, and based on other reviews, I'm guessing he was the owner. He was kind of all business at the register, but I'm okay with that. He was polite enough. I ordered a small Italian grinder. I sat down and waited. It took almost 15-20 minutes to get my sandwich. At one point, I thought maybe he got distracted and forget he was making my sandwich. Anyhow, got it and took it home. The sandwich leaked all over the bag, even though it was wrapped in foil. I'm glad I took it home because it was missing something, not horrible, but a little bland. Fortunately, I had some pepperoncinis in my fridge, so I added those and it helped. The biggest disappointment was the 1/2 ounce, I kid you not, 1/2 ounce bag of Lay's chips that comes with your sandwich. There are approximately 5 chips in the bag. LMAO, I thought it was a sample bag! Come on, put some deli chips out on display and let people select and buy their own chips. Overall, it was just okay. read more

Found this little gem on a work trip out to east Boise. Far East Boise. Like Micron East Boise. This place is nestled in next to the Albertsons over at Federal Way and Gowen. Seems to serve the working crowd lunch rush out here. First time in I got the meatball sub. The large size. It was a lot of food but I ate it all because it was a righteous meatball sandwich. I came back a couple weeks later for the same exact thing. It was that good. I think this is a family owned operation. Not sure if it's a chain but I don't think so. I didn't ask, either. Anyway, it's quite obvious the bread, meatballs and sauce are all scratch made. The bread is my favorite part. Soft and chewy with a crispy crunch on the outside. The meat and sauce is slathered with cheese. They come out piping hot so don't burn your mouth out like I did the first time. I'm sorry but I haven't tried anything else on the menu. My buddy got a calzone. It was huge and he said it was excellent. Several other options on the menu but it seemed the calzones were a popular choice among the lunch crowd. Today my friend and I went to happy teriyaki in east Boise for lunch. All of their tables were being used. The only ones available were outside in the glaring sun. I can't be in the sun due to some meds I am taking. My friend suggested that we go to the shaded outside tables in front of Mancini's. Out of 6 tables only two were occupied. Inside the restaurant there was nomerous free tables. We sat down to enjoy our lunch when the owner came out and rudely berated us in front of the other people for sitting at tables that are on a public sidewalk to eat our lunch. My friend apologized. After his tirade, he yelled back at us "Rude, Rude, Rude" and slammed the door. The other people who witnessed this were totally shocked and told us that he was totally out of line. I had the calzone and my wife had the Italian Combo Grinder. I added jalapeños to my calzone which I thought added a good kick. It was very flavorful. The crust wasn't super crunchy, but I prefer it softer. The grinder (sandwich) was very good. They make their own bread and they don't add yoga mats like Subway. They offer wheat sandwiches if you would like, but no wheat options for their pizza or calzone. The dining is casual with padded chairs and is in a small setting. I had lunch here for the first time yesterday. I really didn't know what to expect, but seemed like a normal strip mall kind of place. Just as the name says, they serve pizza and sandwiches. We asked what their most popular sandwhich is, and they said the Italien Combo, so that is what I ordered. Then we waited. And waited. The slow service mentioned by others seems to be true. Mentally, my rating for this place was dropping by the minute. More minutes went by. I might have been down to one star before our sandwhiches finally arrived. But, hey, this is a good sandwhich! The ingredients were ham, ground sausage, mushroom, cheese. Almost like a ham, sausage, and mushroom pizza without the tomato sauce. The bread was also tasted a bit like pizza crust, but a bit different, too. The bread was toasted perfectly, nicely browned, crispy on the outside, chewy inside, and it was served quite hot. So hot, I had to wait a minute to eat it. Dang it, this is a good (and kind of unique) sandwich, at least in my experience. The half size sandwich was plenty big enough. This was a delicious sandwhich. I'm not sure it is the healthiest choice, but it is tasty. I will definitely eat here again. The pizza is meh... very dough-y crust, and very little flavor. The cheese is good, but that's it. No peppercini's, no interesting toppings. But the reason we won't be back is the crazy old man who was demeaning to his employees and down right rude to my husband because we tried to redeem a gift certificate. Very weird and random, but he cursed at the employee and threatened to take the 50 bucks from her check. These sandwiches remind me of NY. Unapologetically no-frills, unapologetically slow, because they know they're worth it. I loved my sandwich from this place. I can see why some people feel the sandwich is a tad bland, to be honest, but I think people confuse simplicity with lack of flavor, sometimes. The ingredients here are tasty and can stand alone without a bunch of sauces, and I love sauce-soaked sandwiches! (Try saying that 5 times fast.) Good steak, good peppers and onions, great bread. The BEST sandwich bread I've ever had in the US. Soft with just a tiny crisp on the outside. I got the steak and cheese grinder but, as I said, I like saucy sandwiches so I got it with a side pepperoncinis and a side of marinara sauce. The sandwich was already delicious (any caveman would love this sandwich!) but adding those peppers and marinara made it amazing.
