Another late night sub shop stop. We swing by here after attempting to order from a Fells Hill spot that closed right before we arrived. I love that the parking enforcement officer recommended this spot and my friend confirmed it was the go to spot for late night and was good. Ample parking and I'd seen this restaurant many times driving by. It's actually hard to miss their huge signage. The area was well lit and I was happy about that. Some shoer spots in the front though. Went in and ordered. The staff taking our order was very helpful and accommodating. We even joked with them about the Ravens just losing the game and everyone within ear shot chimed in, patrons and all (sucks for them) I ordered the traditional steak sub with peppers, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and pickles. The bread was the prefect combo of soft inside with crunchy outside. The steak wasn't seasoned so much but I appreciated tasting the fixings I added. My friend ordered their popular shrimp and cheesesteak sub and is his go to do no complaints there. Look at the picture. They also have a spread of desserts including bananas fosters cake to pies. I grabbed the bananas foster cake after looking at the inside cuts and was promised it wouldn't disappoint. I only ate half the sub with it being so late and saved the cake for later. So I was craving a lunch meat salad real bad. I was telling my mom and so she was like oh you want a chef salad. Apparently that's what it's called. Anyway we went to Italiano's because my mom said they would have a good one. She didn't lie. My salad was 18 dollars which wasn't bad for the size. It was nice and fresh. I can't speak to the ambiance of the place because my food was delivered to me. I ordered the chipotle ranch turkey burger. The turkey burger had Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and chipotle ranch on it. The burger was well seasoned and the chipotle ranch really elevated the flavor profile. Putting the burger on a brioche bun or ciabatta would have taken the burger to an even higher level. They also added a side of fries, two onion rings, Cole slaw and a pickle spear. Everything was amazing. Fries crispy, coleslaw crunchy and flavorful and onion rings nicely battered. The pickle spear was so good I wish I had more. Tastes like they make it in the premises. Recently enjoyed a catered lunch from here that included pasta, salad, and breadsticks. Everything was delicious! The vegetarian pasta sauce was so flavorful, and the breadsticks were divine as well. My only criticism would be about the salad which while pretty, had way too many red onions and the large pieces of bell pepper were awkward to eat and cut with plastic ware. Every time I order from here I get the crab cakes. They are lump and not filled with too much extras. The sides however are very lack luster and nothing to write about. Was out shooting all day throughout Baltimore, Maryland and this location was heavily recommended. We attempted to call in tour order but due to the total cost of the order we had to drive there and order it and pay for it at once (Baltimore type issue I guess). If you frequent South Bmore, you know there are few places to eat past 10pm that you would dare try. I have found that going into the city any farther than Washington Blvd is a waste of time..for food. On the edge on that border lies a little restaurant called "Italiano's". This spot is open until around 4am, and has quite an extensive menu. Now, I am not a believer in the term, "beggars can't be choosers". It doesn't make any sense. You can 'always' be choosy. You can be choosy enough to just not eat. Especially when you're paying for the food. Right?! In this particular instance, I was on my way home from a trip to the 24 hour Kaiser pharmacy in Halethorpe (100 yards outside the city limits). I go around 11pm to avoid everybody and everything. I yelped "open pizza spots", and Italiano's didn't even come up. I found/remembered it because it was right before the exit to 95 South. I searched it by name and found it...on yelp. I scrolled the extensive menu and found their pizza section. Oooh! The pizza was listed as "pan pizza". Which to me means Sicilian or Detroit style pizza. If you're not familiar with these terms, Sicilian/Detroit Za is a thick crust of airy yet dense dough. That has a crispy bubbly consistency like bruschetta. Generally an inch thick or more. And topped with the typical options. It's great reheated on a pizza stone or better yet, an air fryer. You get this snap out of the crust that will make your toes curl. And it's really filling. Italiano's touted "pan pizza" on their menu and I was gonna NOSH. I ordered a half pepperoni half Greek pizza. Lido's had a Greek pizza on their seasonal menu that we probably ate once a week, and when it was gone, we almost had to check into Shepherd Pratt's suicide ward. I figured it was the same Ingredients, but now on a thick, crispy, buttery, delicious, crust! How wrong I was (well, to be fair, I should take no blame in this). What I got for my twenty plus dollars was truly one of the worst pizzas of my life. The crust was thin. Thin, like the integrity of the Italiano's menu. Not delicious thin, like a NY Crust. But disgusting thin. About the thickness of a soft back copy of Steinbeck's Shane...abridged. And about as tasty too. The Greek side was inedible. Under the cheese and minuscule toppings was a sheen of uncooked dough. Sadly, the feta cheese and gyro meat were pretty much nonexistent...as was any "Greek" flavor. The tomatoes were about the same consistency as the uncooked diced green pepper bits. And the black olives were...black olives. There's truly a reason no one sells a black olive pizza. The onion they used is the type of onion that smells and tastes like armpit BO. And I think they compensated for the lack of feta and gyro meat by simply giving us ALL the horrible tasting onion. The Greek side of the pizza looked just like the like toy/fake vomit they used to sell back in the day. Seriously. The other side of this, I dare say, pizza, was only edible when I air fried each piece until it was ultra done. The so called "fresh dough" had little to no flavor. And the crust was just inedible. The pepperoni was the only thing that tasted right. And that is Sad. Italiano's should do themselves a favor and put the pizza portion of their menu in the dumpster. And they should have no worries about doing so and attracting the starving homeless in the area into dumpster diving for food. No one will want to eat your pizza. It could serve as an actual deterrent. Tiramisu was good. So I gave an extra star. The "pan pizza" was the worst I've ever had. The worst. Avoid at all cost...even if your family is starving to death...7-11 Pizza is better. There, I said it. read more

Instead of fixing the order he advised I can purchase a side of rice. I told him I needed to speak with a manager and she told him to make the customer happy. A total of 4 employees approached the drive-thru window during the time they were supposed to be fixing the order to advise that next time I need to tell them specify rice. I've ordered here before and I know the option is either rice or linguine. I went home to find my food exactly the same way they gave it to me the first time and 1/4 cup of rice in a container. Literally right there. It is a nondescript establishment and by the looks of the outside you may keep driving but JUST WALK IN ! To the right is an area to place take out orders with a large dessert case and register and small dining room to the left. Everything was clean and table was set ( until we got there at least ). The waitress was friendly and very efficient and quick. Sorry I didn't get her name .She took care of us. Appetizers came out quickly and food not long after but not so quick that we didn't have time to enjoy appetizer. The food: HUGE PORTIONS. so huge that I could only eat about 1/4 of the entree and half of the appetizer. Everything was spot on. The only minor gripe I have is that the alfredo sauce was not thick enough in some areas of the plate. But I still slurped as much as I could and it was very good. The seafood shines at this place with crab cakes being the superstar which is just as it should be. My 9 mo old nephew was comfy in his high chair but the seating area is admittedly so tight that it was uncomfortable seating with a high chair. Maybe it was just the spot we were in. There was not a lot of traffic at around 6pm on a Friday but I hear this place kills late night. They also had a drive through which is bonkers considering what they sell but I'm here for it. Italianos used to be my go-to spot for lunch because of the close proximity to my job. I would always get the shrimp and crab Alfredo but I have to say ove the past few years the quality has declined and it's no longer worth it because it's pretty pricey. I was getting my hair done late 1 evening in the Cherry Hill area and wanted a specialty sub I used to get at a sub shop in Baltimore, but really didn't want to make the drive because of the distance from my home. The stylist recommended Italiano's. There was a long line for the drive thru on a Friday nite which had me thinking, "The food must be good". I hopped in the line and pulled up the menu online. They have EVERYTHING. The menu ranges from high end items like shrimp pastas and crab cakes to burgers and fries. They even have a whole breakfast menu! I also read on their website that the drive thru is open from 9am-4am... WOW. I called and placed my ordered. I told the phone rep I was in the drive thru line and she said my food might not be ready by the time I reach the front. I opted to stay in line. Order was placed at 925pm, I approached the window at 940pm and they took my payment, (less than $20), and handed me my food. 15 mins, not bad! While at the window I checked out the place and everyone was wearing masks properly and had on gloves. Patrons were also picking up food inside. The window attendant was friendly and even provided additional ketchup and utensils at my request. The food smelled so delicious I decided to check it out before heading home, so I drove over to 1 of the parking spots on the back. Half & half, yummy. Sandwich and fries, huge portion, hot and delicious! I ate half before leaving the parking lot LOL. The only flaw in my meal was that I asked for both provolone and American cheese and they forgot the American cheese (The order was correct on the receipt & I paid extra for both cheeses.
