Went to It's Different BBQ Company for lunch with my partner at exactly 12:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026, and surprisingly, we had the whole place to ourselves. The dining area looked clean and well-kept, and the hostess/cashier was genuinely friendly--she took the time to walk us through the menu, drinks, sauces, and even the different pickles, which I appreciated. We ordered the brisket, ribs, mac & cheese, green beans, two sauces (both free), house and spicy pickles (also free), and a Banana Cream Soda. 2 Slices of Brisket - $9 (3.5/5): The brisket was solid overall--tender with a nice, juicy interior and a lightly smoky aroma that came through in each bite. It wasn't dry at all, which is always a win, though it could've had a bit more depth in flavor on its own. That said, it really came alive when paired with the spicy sauce, which added a bold, tangy kick that elevated the meat nicely. 2 Pork Spare Ribs - $7 (4/5): These were definitely a highlight. The ribs were beautifully seasoned with a savory, slightly sweet rub that formed a flavorful crust on the outside. The meat was incredibly tender--so much so that it fell clean off the bone with just a fork, no effort needed. Juicy, rich, and super satisfying, especially with the spicy sauce adding an extra layer of heat and tang. Mac & Cheese - $4.50 (4/5): Very impressive side. The spiral noodles were cooked perfectly--tender but still holding their shape, not mushy at all. What stood out most was the texture: there was a subtle crunch on top, possibly from a light breadcrumb or rice-based topping, which added a nice contrast. The cheese sauce was creamy, rich, and coated every curve of the spirals, so each bite had these little pockets of cheesy goodness that almost "popped" with flavor. The sprinkle of green onions on top added a fresh, slightly sharp brightness that cut through the richness and made the dish feel surprisingly refreshing. Green Beans - $4.50 (3.5/5): These had a great bite to them--crisp-tender with a fresh, vibrant texture. The seasoning was flavorful with a savory base, but what surprised me most was the subtle heat that built up as you ate more. It wasn't overpowering, just a nice, unexpected kick that made them more interesting than your typical side. House Pickles (free) - 2/5: These were very crunchy and had a sharp, vinegary tang that leaned heavily on the sour side. While they were fresh and crisp, the flavor felt a bit one-dimensional and overly acidic for my taste. Spicy Pickles (free) - 4/5: Much better balance here. Still nice and crunchy with that same sour backbone, but the added heat gave them a bold, zesty edge that made them way more enjoyable. The spice lingered just enough to keep you reaching for another. Banana Cream Soda - $2 (2.5/5): This was light, fizzy, and refreshing with a smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel. The banana flavor was present but very subtle--more of a faint, artificial sweetness than a rich, ripe banana taste. It leaned more toward a mellow vanilla-cream soda vibe with just a hint of banana in the background. Not bad, just a bit underwhelming if you're expecting a bold, dessert-like banana flavor. Overall, a solid BBQ spot with friendly service and some standout items--especially the ribs and mac & cheese. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for a laid-back, no-frills lunch.

Found out about It's Different BBQ from my wife after she suggested a new bbq in Buford that had a lot of good reviews and high praise. We ordered a variety of items as we wanted to see what all the hype was about. Wow! After eating our BBQ feast I can say with high confidence, this is HIGH quality BBQ! From the Brisket, to the ribs, to all the sides, and even the BBQ sauces this place nails it with excellence. What we ordered: 3 orders of 1/4 brisket, 1/2 rack of ribs, 16 oz of Mac and cheese (2 orders), 8 oz baked beans, 8 oz green beans, 8 oz cole slaw, 8 oz banana pudding. I repeat, we loved every item. When a BBQ restaurant puts in the work and focuses on high quality, it is easy to see why they are different, bc frankly, "It's Different BBQ!" Service is excellent. Note: please check your order if you are taking out. They might forget to give you your entire order which happened to us. No big deal, we live close by and made quick fix of the bag that they accidentally had in the warmer. 5 solid stars for Its Different BBQ in Buford! Thank you!

Walking in, we were immediately greeted and she explained the menu to us, very friendly. We decided to do build your own plate, consist of brisket and pulled pork. The sides were potato salad and coleslaw. The flavors were very delicious. I loved the pulled pork. The brisket was good but was more on the drier side, wasn't as tender as I would like in my briskets. The sodas were delicious! The strawberry and habanero soda was my fav. Just the right kick to the drink. Overall, I would come back. It was very flavorful, and I would like to try their ribs since it wasn't available this time.

Like most pointed out the establishment is in a converted waffle house. Seating is extremely limited. There is almost no privacy between kitchen and dining room. There's no sound system so it stays quiet and can/did get weird. Stopped by for lunch wanting to try the place out. Big bbq fans and heard a lot of good things. First impression walking in, staff is super friendly. Didn't ask the right questions when ordering so we didn't get a choice on sauces nor cuts. We ordered a lb of brisket, 1/2 rack pork ribs, Mac n cheese, buford stew, baked beans, and banana pudding. Pork ribs were def the winner. They were fall off the bone and seasoned very well. Didn't even need sauce. Brisket did not seem fresh honestly. I can tell by the color alone. Also not a fan of how it was sliced. I'd rather a couple good whole slices than random half slices. Wasn't a big fan of the sides. Buford stew (their version of Brunswick) was definitely hearty full of protein. Beans were undercooked. Mac and cheese was rich and creamy but grainy. Banana pudding was refreshing for what it is. I was really wanting some fresh bananas or a cookie but the pudding and fresh cream was yummy. For our first time we weren't too disappointed that we also ordered another 1/2 rack of ribs and lb of brisket to go to share with family.

This place is an absolute must try! We have been missing a BBQ spot in the area until I tried this place and this is definitely the place you want to go!! They are still getting their feet wet with building the business, seating is limited (for now take out would prob be easier but they do have some seating-I'm sure once they build a big customers base this will change. And with the quality of their BBQ they will easily build a good business guaranteed!) I can easily say they are up there with Fox Bros! Everything we tried was delicious and they are such a friendly team. We will happily be back!! We tried the turkey, brisket, green beans, chopped chicken, Mac and cheese, Buford stew, ribs and their banana pudding. Basically a little of everything! They also do specials on Friday and Saturday, I haven't tried any of their specials but I will 100% try it if I'm out to dinner on one of those days. Overall we enjoyed all of our food, their bbq sauce both sweet and spicy was so good as well! Please try them out and support! You will not be disappointed!

I'm not allergic to gluten but my wife is and this place is god sent! We Came across it on Uber eats right before they closed and ordered. The rating were great but my experience with bbq around here has been blah so I didn't get my hopes hope. Food arrived at Our house MIND BLOWN!! I don't even know what to say except I'm driving to the restaurant to shake their hands! Food is phenomenal!!!! God bless and may Your business do great!

New local BBQ spot is a great find! Located in a former Waffle House location, there is no interior seating and just one or two outside benches. Definitely plan on taking your meal to go! I got 2 meats and 2 sides that ran $18.99. Opted for the ribs and pulled pork. Owner said his two most popular sides are the beans and slaw. I'm not a slaw fan, so got the Mac and cheese. Both were good, generous portions. The beans are on the sweet side. Two sauces to choose from: sweet and spicy. I will be back for more!

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. How wonderful to have GREAT bbq in a dedicated GF restaurant. ALL items are gluten free, with no risk of cross contact or getting sick if you have a gluten allergy. I ordered a plate with pulled pork, mac and cheese, and slaw. Everything was fabulous. Truly, truly delicious. But the star for me is the Mac and cheese. It is hands down the best GF mac out there. The pulled pork was delicious, but I might try a leaner meat next time. The slaw was beautiful - crispy and fresh, not soaked and limp like so many other places. And it had little pieces of fruit (peach? I should have asked before I left) which added nice flavor and sweetness. I mentioned to the owners that I drove an hour to go here and they were so incredibly kind and generous to me. They are such nice, welcoming people who are clearly doing a great job with their business. Just a heads up that there are no indoor tables so plan accordingly if needed. I can't wait to go back! I'd get this mac all the time if I lived closer. It's seriously to die for.

My biggest complaint is about the wait encountered. I was quoted about 30 minutes to be seated and was probably a little over that, thankfully with other parties leaving to get progressed through the list faster. Once we were seated though, the first thing our waitress said is that it was going to be another hour before the kitchen would have our food out. In reality, time from seating to getting our food was probably was closer to an hour and a half. I ordered the wiener schnitzel with potato salad and spätzle. Everything tasted very good. I enjoyed my schnitzel. I liked the flavor of their potato salad a lot but didn't care for peas being in it. That was a first for me. The spätzle was good. I did order it with some additional toppings which were missing when it came out. No way I was sending it back. The plain original one was fine and they fixed the check no problem before cashing out. All in all, I would recommend this place on the food if their was not a wait. I would be hesitant to recommend it if you get waitlisted outside because of how long it took the kitchen. I hope they get that figured out. On food alone I wpuld of gave them 4 stars. For me tonight and the overall experience, I have to drop it to 3.

I finally got to try the things that Valley's Bakery is known for! And for the most part--amazing!…read moreIt's really cool to see how puffy and layered these gluten free pastries can actually get. Here's my two cents on what I got: Donut: I got in too late and couldn't snag a jelly donut, but I got a nice classic white choco one! The white choco gave it just the right amount of sweetness without feeling like I OD'd. I wish the donut itself had that pinch of ground nutmeg to further lend itself that classic donut taste, but overall not complaining. The inside looked so much like a regular donut! It was a bit denser than a regular donut, but a definite level up from the usual gluten free cake donut (which is really just cake). AMAZING feat and a huge step forward for GF folks who haven't eaten a "real" donut in years. Croissant: I had the mini croissants and I've experienced an actual good GF croissant about 10 years ago back in NYC, but I know how difficult it is to get these right!! These were definitely flaky and had a lightly buttery, savory taste. You can't compare it to an actual croissant (which I think can "squish" a little more when you hold it), but the flavor and the layers are spot on! Matcha white choco cookie: I can't believe how soft this thin-ish cookie was...and SO incredibly packed with flavor! The matcha hits you in the face without being bitter then the white choco mellows it all out. They have their cookies down like nobody's business! You want something that's guaranteed to be good? Get their cookie. I didn't try their others but based on the texture, sweetness, and topping ratios alone, I already know their other cookies are going to be off the charts! Tres leches parfait: I love me a good tres leches and this was COVERED in tres leches!! The whipped topping was just the right amount of sweet (aka not too sweet, but oh-so-milky!) and the flavor was just extra decadent. The only gripe is that the cake was a bit grainy, and I'm not sure where that graininess came from as I've definitely had non-grainy GF cake, but the flavor was so good it actually didn't bug me too much. Spinach ricotta feta turnover: We really couldn't resist that flaky exterior. The corners were decadent, light, and crispy. The inside was a little soggy from the filling, but there's a good chunk of filling in there so understandable if all that cheese oil gets up in there. My only qualm is that even though the cheese oil got all over the center, it also got all over our hands--like a LOT of oil. I probably could've wrung it out like a towel but we just ate it since overall it was quite tasty. With my last 2 visits, I'm still getting the feeling that cupcakes/cakes are not what they're known for, and to really stick with their pastries, cookies, and donuts if you want a bomb experience. I did see some guy walking out with a delicious looking hot dog though, so I'd encourage y'all to try that too. Service was also good, and the person working there was incredibly friendly and customer-oriented. I can see why this GF bakery is so famous nation-wide--great job, Valley's, at producing so many GF pastries that GF folks would've never dreamt of being able to eat ever again! Huge game changer!
