Came around lunchtime and it sure was busy! Our food took about 20 minutes to be served, but I'm sure it'd be faster during downtime. -Hot and Sour Soup: 4/5 -Thai Red Curry: 5/5 -Salmon Mango: 5/5 Mango was so good and complemented the savoryness of the salmon well! -Pad See-Ew: 5/5 My go-to Thai entrée. The flavors were amazing and I always love the generous portion of beef and broccoli. Would drop by again during a less busy time!

Lunchtime stopped in for food. Spicy noodle with beef, seafood fried rice, red curry chicken. Noodle and beef: Wide noodle fans rejoice! Nice spicy, maybe 3/5 spicy level. Good mixture of ingredients. Nice taste, little mild. Fried rice: again mild but solid flavor, good quality ingredients, big chunks of onion, rice medium consistency, not too soft or hard. Curry chicken: about 2/5 spicy. Little watery, again solid flavor. Wanted hot tea for the table but seems they are not used to this. Got single serving. Rest of restaurant had ice water, so maybe not many requests for hot tea. Service is fast. Location pretty nice. Would be back again when in area.

Came back again in July 2022. Still excellent food and service. Always a crowd pleaser!

I went to this restaurant for the first time around 4 years ago with a friend that really loved it, and I have been going and ordering take out since then. I had never tried Thai food before, so I can't tell you if this is authentic Thai food or not, but I really like it. It is a very cute restaurant, with nice service and really good prices. If you are on a budget and want to go out for dinner, this is your place to go. I haven't been to the restaurant since the pandemic, but we recently ordered delivery through Grubhub. Our favorite dishes are Pork Thai Fried Rice and Pad Thai Noodles with chicken and shrimp (I write that in the comments, if not, they come with chicken only). This last time I also added an Eggplant dish to have some more veggies in the meal, and it was so much food that we had enough for dinner and lunch the next day (and we eat big portions!). You can take a look at the portion sizes in my pictures, they are huge!

Pretty decent place to grab Thai food in New Haven. My friends got Garlic sauce and choice of meat or seafood with rice. The sauce was very good, very flavorful. My green curry was alright ($12.95) , I had better curry before. Even level 1 spicy was a bit spicy. Plus point that it has a lot of shrimps, bamboos, and eggplants. Also, you can order more rice without charges. Pretty good deal!

The place had a really nice and chill vibe, really nice decor and a great spot for a somewhat nice lunch. They were serving their lunch menu and I ended up getting the mussels pad Thai, and a chicken curry puff appetizer and a Thai tea. The Thai tea was solid, and the chicken curry puffs were very good. But the stand out was the pad Thai. I've never had a creamy pad Thai and this was amazing. So flavorful. I didn't know what to expect with the mussels but I loved the mussels in the shell and it added a great flavor to the dish! I will definitely be coming back again to order this, and try some of their other items!

This is supposedly the best Thai restaurant in Connecticut. Delicious!…read more Crab Fried Rice: The rice grains were separate and refreshing, but lacked wok hei 鑊氣, resembling crab meat and scrambled eggs mixed with rice. The sauce was similar to Thai seafood sauce, but thicker, with a very strong garlic kick. Mixing it into the rice added a clever touch, cutting through the richness without making it soggy. Long Island Duck Pineapple Curry: Recommended by the owner. My first time trying a sweet and sour curry; the refreshing pineapple balanced well with the rich curry. The duck was just okay, mainly because it was too dry. Mango Sticky Rice: A pleasant surprise; my parents also loved it. The coconut milk had a strong sea salt and caramel flavor, likely due to the addition of coconut sugar or palm sugar. Steamed Vegetables: Just steamed vegetables, without any seasoning. A sprinkle of salt would have made it tastier.

Shhh, don't tell anyone!…read more But also tell everyone you know! Let it Be is a chic, cozy little hole in the wall spot on Dixwell which although you can easily miss, you won't want to because it's a legend of a Thai restaurant. AMBIANCE - 8/10 When you walk inside, you're greeted by a familiar friendly smile (? one of the owners) before being seated amongst brightly colorful interior decor. They play relaxing Thai classics and sometimes switch it up with familiar and vibey pop songs. It's a small space, but is never overcrowded, and there's conveniently plenty of parking in the back. FOOD - 9/10 The food here is incredible. I've tried multiple Thai places in and around the New Haven/Hamden area and Let it Be has got them all beat. Not only are the flavors authentic and high quality, but prices are fair and the dishes are well-portioned. Best of all, they're made with so much heart. Every bite has felt like a journey back home to South East Asia. SERVICE - 9/10 The service here has been phenomenal. Our friendly server is welcoming, prompt, and responsive to our needs. When a dish we asked for wasn't available, he took the time to find similar dishes for us. He also takes the time to make friendly conversation and share with us the history of some of the special dishes. Visits here always just feel like a pitstop at a friendly neighbor's. The only thing is that it can take a bit of time for the food to come out, which is natural as the dishes are likely made to order. OVERALL - 9/10 From the Thai staples (pad thai, red and green curries) to the more avant garde (larb kai but in a bánh mì / hoagie style sandwich?! woah!), this place does it all the right way. If you couldn't tell by now, this is my absolute favorite Thai place and I could not recommend it enough. Ally's Recs: Pad Thai (8/10) - cannot go wrong with a classic Pad See Ewe (9/10) - another classic! tastes great with a squeeze of lime Let it Be Thai Curry (9/10) - delicious house curry; they combo the curries well to create a creamy sweet and savory mixture that always leaves you wanting more Thai Tea (8/10) - if you're down for a treat, the condensed milk hits every time! Longan Juice / Tea (7/10) - refreshing and comes with a bunch of juicy longans on top. such a unique offering!

Hopefully they're doing a big takeout business because we were the only ones inside for dinner. Granted it was 8:30pm, but they are open until midnight. They were accommodating by turning the heat up on this chilly night. They also put on current Thai music for us after we asked about the American music being played. They offered my wife a syrupy lychee drink on the house to take care of the extra heat that she wasn't expecting. They put a bit of a different spin on their version of some popular dishes so don't be mad if it's not what you get at other Thai restaurants. Check out our pics. It was all excellent!
