Their spice levels actually pack quite a punch, and you can tell that they use high quality seafood, beef and tofu for their dishes. Even though I was a solo diner, I also appreciated how the waiters kindly brought me 8 complimentary Banchan dishes, a perfectly fried fish, and scooped out my rice + added barley tea to the pot. Everything that came out I had nothing negative to say even their LA Galbi fell cleanly off the bone. My family and I love kimchi so when we had asked for more, they consistently brought more side dishes when it was running low. The restaurant resembles a small diner, with a small row of wooden booths in the middle and booths lining the walls. The name of the restaurant can be seen in the back in purple lights and printouts of food recommendations are taped on every wall that's in the restaurant. This place was cute and looked homey. We ordered the following: # 12 pork and Kimchi tofu soup (mild)- Hubs liked it a lot. He couldn't finish it and brought it back to the hotel room and finished it. This was pretty good. We loved that they gave a raw egg with it. #27 Spicy Squid stone pot bibimbap- this was delicious. Daughter was picking at this all night. It's one of her favorite things to eat. The rice was nice and crispy. We poured hot tea into the pot to finish off the crispy rice. Hubs thought that this was one of the best stone pots that he's ever had in a very long time. #29 Tobiko Steamed egg, which is steamed egg with flying fish roe. Daughter loved this a lot and attacked this. She said that this was delicious. Hubs found the flying fish roe to be a bit salty. We remembered the olden days when the steamed egg was part of the banchan and there was no charge for it. Included with the banchan was a deep fried baby mackerel. Hubs loved it and ate the whole thing. The servers were walking around with an iPad to take everyone's orders. Service was quick and friendly. I'm already missing this place. *Way* better than BCD. Service was attentive, and after being seated, they immediately brought our banchan out. The spread was delicious, and the croaker was fried to order and perfectly crispy. For mains, we ordered galbi, medium tofu soup with intestine, seafood pancake, flounder, and an octopus bibimbap. Definitely over ordered and underestimated how big the portions would be but we have no regrets because everything was on point. The octopus bibimbap was my favorite dish of the night -- it was laden with octopus and just really hit the spot. The tofu soup had a deep meaty broth and good ratio of tofu to intestine. Flavor was much richer and more savory than BCD. Galbi was tender and well marinated (not too sweet). Flounder was solid, though we could've gone without given that they did bring a croaker as part of the banchan. Seafood pancake was also good with tons of octopus bits. It was green onion heavy, though, so it didn't get as crispy as some other seafood pancakes I've had. Nonetheless, delicious meal overall and will definitely come back! read more

Came here on a Friday night and there was no wait for a part of 3. We got the hot stone bibimbap as well as the seafood soondubu and dumpling (mandu) soondubu. Banchans were included as well as the small fish. I liked the amount of seafood in the tofu soup as well as the silkiness of the tofu, but wish that there was more flavor within the broth. Also, $20 per tofu stew is definitely on the more expensive side. The number of banchan dishes that you get are definitely more than what you'd get at other locations, however, the servers did not come by a single time to refill them or to refill our waters. Overall, the taste of the food is good although on the expensive side, however, I think service can be improved. read more

Found this place after a couple viral videos from social media and after checking out the high rating on Yelp (can never be too sure with viral videos...), we decided to give it a try! There was a 15 minute wait on a Friday night around 6PM (tip, jump on the waitlist via Yelp when you're nearby the restaurant). The restaurant itself is small, but spaced out in a way where you don't feel packed in. Very clean, new, and modern interior. The service was quick and extremely attentive. The "free sides" were all delicious and much higher quality compared to other more well known chains. The tofu soup was delicious and rich in flavor - we got the spicy level and it was just enough spice where you can still enjoy the flavor of the soup without the spice over powering the soup. The beef ribs and raw marinated crab both were delicious. Everything was piping hot and stayed hot throughout our meal. Can't wait to come back, especially when it gets colder out! read more
