    Jokbal salad
    Ness L.

Came here for the first time, and I'm not a big fan of this Korean restaurant. We ordered the special jokbal salad, tofu soup, and the LA short rib combo. The short ribs were good and had great flavor. However, the tofu soup was extremely salty and honestly tasted like salt water. There also wasn't anything particularly special about the salad, and the jokbal was very tough. As for the side dishes, the fish was very cold and tasted old, like it had been sitting out for quite some time. The only side dishes we really enjoyed were the kimchi and cucumber kimchi. Overall, the meal just didn't live up to our expectations, and unfortunately, we probably wouldn't come back.

It's Tofu has become one of my regular dinner spots with family or friends, and it is an easy place to keep coming back to. The food is consistently solid, the banchan is a standout, and the whole experience always feels fun and easy. I tried the raw marinated crab for the first time here, and it was so flavorful and honestly tasted amazing. It is definitely a little messy to eat, but I would absolutely order it again. The short ribs are usually my go-to and were great as usual. I will say BCD Tofu House probably has them beat when it comes to LA galbi specifically, but these still hit the spot. The bulgogi was also a solid addition to the table. One of my favorite parts of coming here is the banchan. The sides always taste super fresh, feel a little more unique than the usual lineup, and seem to change depending on the season or what they are featuring. The mac salad and japchae are always favorites for me, and you really cannot go wrong with the kimchi or cucumber kimchi either. Service is consistently quick, easy, and attentive. Inside, the neon lighting gives it a fun, inviting vibe that feels like a little slice of Korea. Great choice when you want a lively dinner with friends or just want to switch up family night out.

It's tofu is becoming one of my go to spicy tofu stew spots! Always really solid with quick and friendly service. Hena helped us out today and was the best! Will be coming back soon for sure.

Authentic Korean restaurant with good, fast service and a spacious dining area. The tofu soup was definitely one of the highlights--hot, comforting, and flavorful. The beef was good but a little too sweet for my taste, and a few of the dishes were spicier than I expected. Overall, not a bad spot for authentic Korean food, especially if you like tofu soup. Service was quick and attentive, which made the experience even better.

I kept going back to this place for the comfort of the hot soondubu and the juicy kalbi. The quality of the food is consistent and staff is efficient with food service. The restaurant can get very busy on weekends so suggest getting in line on yelp ahead of time

Craving some tofu soup so came here on a Sunday at around 6. I was able to join the waitlist when I was 3 miles away. There was lots of people waiting outside when we got there but we waited about 15 minutes for 2 ppl. We immediately got the menu & someone was there to take our order within the first 5 mins. Lots of options on the menu, including all the classics like seafood pancake, cold noodles & spicy raw crab. We ordered the galbi & tofu soup combo ($37.95) and a side of steamed egg (~$11). This was a perfect amount for 2 people to share. The galbi was delicious, cooked well & wasn't chewy. The flavor was delicious & I felt like it was a good meat/bone portion. We got the mixed tofu soup and it contained beef + variety of seafood. The soup was not as flavorful as I expected; we got the medium spice but it was not very spicy at all. My fiance said he prefers BCD's tofu soup but the galbi here was better. The steamed egg was cooked to perfection, very fluffy & had roe on top with added a nice umami flavor. We also enjoyed all the banchans! Overall a solid place, I would come back if there wasn't a long wait.

You know sometimes with highly rated up and coming Asian restaurants, I get a little skeptical of the authenticity of the dishes. Like for me, there's a prime difference in expectations with Din Tai Fung and Kei Concept restaurants vs your typical mom and pop business. Yet as someone who has had soondobu throughout the years, of all different variations, I can say that this one of my most favorites that I've tasted. And I could already tell from the moment I entered. Although the establishment looks modern, it has a traditional feel, with wooden tables, flat chopsticks, and the friendly but bustling Korean auntie waitresses who eagerly refilled the banchan at our table. The soondobu came out pipping high and I had to wait a little so I didn't burn my mouth. But with the first bites, I experienced a warm, comforting flavor with its deeply rich broth and silken tofu. Pair this meal with the marinated fish cake, fried fish, and japchae noodles and you have absolute perfection. I'll be returning soon for another meal~ (And yes that definitely beats BCD in terms of taste, cost, and wait time.)

My husband and I walked in on a Sunday around 1 PM. There were a few tables that weren't cleaned but they greeted and immediately sat us down. We ordered one combination since he wanted the galbi and I wanted the soup but it was enough for the both of us. Thank god the servers weren't judging. I always feel like the a la carte korean food is always too much for one person. Everything was so delicious from japchae, fish cake, kimchi, zucchini, croaker to the mild pork kimchi tofu soup and the galbi. This was the perfect lunch. The servers only came back once to refill my banchans though, I was too embarassed to ask for more refills.

Must have, enjoyed it with my dinner

Pretty packed on a Saturday night. The dinning area is pretty bright and spacious. The waitress was super nice but never checked on us until we were done. Food was pretty good. But, I was Super disappointed on the Jokbal, had some in Korea and tastes nothing like it. The sauce had horse radish in it, not my kind of sauce. Highly recommend the beef rib soup and seafood pancake!

We have lived in Southern California for about two years now so I'm surprised that it took us so long to try this place out. As you can see in the picture provided food was in abundance... no notes 10 out of 10.

There was no wait and we were seated right away Monday evening. It did take a while for the food to come out though. I got the beef tofu soup and it was very savory. I like that they give you a lot of beef and tofu. I got mild which wasn't too spicy for me at all and still had a kick. The sides were also good. I liked the tteokbokki that came with the fish cakes. The staff was also very attentive and would ask if we needed anything.

Rating: 9/10 Third time trying It's Tofu this is officially my go-to now. Better than BCD. Banchan was all very fresh and well-prepared. The fried fish is great. Hot, crispy skin with flaky meat. LA galbi was solid, good flavor and portion. The pork tofu soup (ordered spicy) had a real kick. I usually go medium, but spicy was still enjoyable. Broth was rich and satisfying. Overall, super consistent across visits. Quality, fresh, and great service.

Can't wait to come here again ! The fish was the super crispy, which is exactly how it should be. The galbi (short ribs) came out steaming hot and perfectly seasoned If you're looking for a solid Korean spot with great portions and quality, this is it!

Hi, we have a group with varied diets. Could you list what you have that's vegetarian and what you have that's vegan? Can't tell from the menu (e.g. the vegetarian soup might still have meat broth).

Our menu for vegetarian includes Vegetable Soft Tofu Stew and Tofu Bibimbap.

What's in the dumplings? The menu doesn't say. Beef? Fish? Veggies?

It has pork tofu egg leek and some veggie. Thanks

We finally gave it a shot today. We ordered the steamed pork belly, cold noodles, and the galbi soup. The food was very good. The part I want to really emphasize was the service. The young man that took care of us was very attentive and most importantly, treated my kids so well. He provided them with all their usual needs like plastic silverware, extra bowls for soup, and even offered extra soup when he saw that they devoured the galbi soup. He went out of his way to give them some BTS Edition Oreos and little bags with stickers in them. I am always very grateful anytime people take care to treat my kids well. If you're going with a few people, the Braised Spicy Premium Beef Ribs with the flat glass noodles is definitely the move. The portion easily feeds two to three. The meat is super tender and just falls off the bone, covered in a rich, spicy sauce that has a nice kick to it. The flat glass noodles soak up all that sauce, and the chunks of kabocha squash add a slight sweetness that balances out the spicy, heavy beef. Service is super fast. While I've noticed some dishes have definitely improved in quality, I can't help but feel that the portions and overall experience don't quite match the rising prices. One major gripe I have is the banchan portion when you order takeout--it's definitely lacking, yet the price remains the same. I get it, this is a premium spot, and part of what you're paying for is the ambiance. But when you're just grabbing food to go and the service feels a bit off, it starts to make me question whether it's worth it. Honestly, I've been feeling like the prices have crept up a bit too much lately, likely due to the landlord hiking the rent. Plus, I've noticed a bit of pressure to finish up quickly, especially when I'm dining solo, which can be a bit off-putting. That said, this is my go-to place when I'm under the weather--I can't get enough of their soups! However, with the rising costs and what you actually get in return, I've found myself stopping by less frequently. It's a bit of a disappointment, as it used to be a staple in our family's dining rotation.
