You know sometimes with highly rated up and coming Asian restaurants, I get a little skeptical of the authenticity of the dishes. Like for me, there's a prime difference in expectations with Din Tai Fung and Kei Concept restaurants vs your typical mom and pop business. Yet as someone who has had soondobu throughout the years, of all different variations, I can say that this one of my most favorites that I've tasted. And I could already tell from the moment I entered. Although the establishment looks modern, it has a traditional feel, with wooden tables, flat chopsticks, and the friendly but bustling Korean auntie waitresses who eagerly refilled the banchan at our table. The soondobu came out pipping high and I had to wait a little so I didn't burn my mouth. But with the first bites, I experienced a warm, comforting flavor with its deeply rich broth and silken tofu. Pair this meal with the marinated fish cake, fried fish, and japchae noodles and you have absolute perfection. I'll be returning soon for another meal~ (And yes that definitely beats BCD in terms of taste, cost, and wait time.)

I came to try new item today (Jokbal salad) as well as get the fried yellow croaker and bibimbab. The Jokbal salad was refreshing and delicious, while I love the crunch and slight burned rice of the stone pot bibimbab. They were all so good! Staff were busy and attentive. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. Come early evening before the long line starts.

There was no wait and we were seated right away Monday evening. It did take a while for the food to come out though. I got the beef tofu soup and it was very savory. I like that they give you a lot of beef and tofu. I got mild which wasn't too spicy for me at all and still had a kick. The sides were also good. I liked the tteokbokki that came with the fish cakes. The staff was also very attentive and would ask if we needed anything.

Rating: 9/10 Third time trying It's Tofu this is officially my go-to now. Better than BCD. Banchan was all very fresh and well-prepared. The fried fish is great. Hot, crispy skin with flaky meat. LA galbi was solid, good flavor and portion. The pork tofu soup (ordered spicy) had a real kick. I usually go medium, but spicy was still enjoyable. Broth was rich and satisfying. Overall, super consistent across visits. Quality, fresh, and great service.

This place is called Its Tofu, but the braised cod fish dish is bussin!!! It must be an insider item because most tables were enjoying it. The sauce is savory, fish is flakey, radish is a nice touch.. this dish is way easy to eat. Great to share among 2-3 people. Bonus points for friendly service and clean establishment! Really enjoyed our experience.

This is the spot for casual comfort Korean food with sundubu as the main dish and a variety of combination options to choose from. Highly recommend the stone pot bibimbap or the cold noodle. Best part is after multiple visits trying different dishes, the food is consistently delicious and staff always gives great service. The restaurant seating is limited and can get busy on weekend during meal times so best to get on Yelp waitlist on your way there

I like It's Tofu better than BCD, haha. In my opinion, the best flavor is the Crab Miso soondubu. The inside is really clean, service is really fast, and the banchan selection is great and they come in generous portions. While it is a bit pricier than other places, it's worth it just for the Crab Miso.

My new favorite korean tofu restaurant!! Portions are good and flavor is AMAZING. I ordered a spicy tofu intestine soup and it was so perfectly spicy. The green onion pancake is so bomb too. The marinated pork belly was so good as well. The service was good, fast and efficient. Very friendly ambiance, great for families!! They have high chairs for little babies too. Came here on a Friday night and there was no wait for a part of 3. We got the hot stone bibimbap as well as the seafood soondubu and dumpling (mandu) soondubu. Banchans were included as well as the small fish. I liked the amount of seafood in the tofu soup as well as the silkiness of the tofu, but wish that there was more flavor within the broth. Also, $20 per tofu stew is definitely on the more expensive side. The number of banchan dishes that you get are definitely more than what you'd get at other locations, however, the servers did not come by a single time to refill them or to refill our waters. Overall, the taste of the food is good although on the expensive side, however, I think service can be improved. read more

The food here has all the classic Korean comfort food. We got the tofu soup and seafood pancake here. The tofu soup was good, we got spicy and its definitely the real definition for spicy. Normally we get extra spicy at BCD and their spicy level here is even more than that. I really like the variety of sides and how they offer different sides than other tofu places. I think it is great that a new tofu spot opened, but I still like the flavor of the BCD soup more and the sides at BCD. Services was okay. It felt that the workers were not accustomed to handle a lot of customers at once. If you are open to trying a new tofu spot I would recommend going during non peak times. read more

Went on a weekday evening for dinner. There was 1 other group in the entire restaurant. That should have been the give away. I've been to many Korean tofu places and by far this was the worst place. I only ate 1/3 of the soup and left. read more

Drove in from Palm Springs to visit family and stopped in for a late lunch and loved it! Was craving soondubu and ordered the medium spicy mixed (beef/seafood) and it was delish! Service was very friendly and best of all, thank you for serving a large variety of banchan! I was starting to feel like establishments have been offering less and less but not here! Delicious new tofu spot next to Zion Mart! We ordered the steamed egg, galbi, and dumpling soonduboo and everything was pretty good! We slightly like BCD's tofu soup more, but everything else was pretty on-par with BCD and there was barely a wait here + parking is super easy. The sides were actually the best part because they give seafood pancakes, marinated quail eggs, potato salad, and deokbokki. The steamed egg was also pretty good, which I don't think Kaju nor BCD has. I do wish they had a smaller, cheaper portion though since it it was humongous. read more

Been here twice now and absolutely love it. The meat is very well prepared and you get a healthy portion. I love their spicy port bulgogi, that's my favorite here by a long shot. They give you plenty of sides that are delicious. I must say their sides are better than other places. My only tiny tip would be for them to check up on you a bit more often. Felt like I was without sides for too long at times, but otherwise service was very good. I can't wait to return. read more

I saw this place on TikTok and wanted to try this place because of all the banchan aka Korean sides they offer. We ordered the combination: LA short ribs & tofu mixed and octopus bibimbap. The tofu was not as flavorful. It might because well ordered it mild. The short ribs were on the fatty side. The octopus bibimbap was okay too many onions. The service was okay. You don't have an assigned or dedicated server. They all help in getting your food and drinks. One server looked slightly upset getting us more banchan. Maybe it was because or was our third request ‍. Overall, this place was good. They did a great job seating a party of 8 pretty quick. The restaurant is new. It replaced another Korean restaurant. Dongho is a terrible server long with the same heavier set female waitress who's been there since opening. There was ONE nice older female waitress among the several that were there. She was the one that initially sat us down, but unfortunately Dongho was the one who took our order. His demeanor was dismissive about our questions and the next time we saw him was when he walked briskly past to drop off the check. We never got a refill of water or side dishes and heads up THEY CLOSE AT 8:30PM. You'll be rushed from the moment it turns 8:30pm to finish up your meal and pay because the restaurant staff want to leave by 9:00pm. They may even ask you to pay before you're done eating like Dongho did a whole 28 minutes before closing. Honestly, I don't know why I came back to give them another try as it still remains the same--disappointing. read more

Excellent Sundubu spot!! I'm not Korean but LOVE K food! It was lunch time and was craving Korean, saw this place, went in and ordered the combo bibimbap and spicy Kimchi soup, it was super tasty and good! The soup was bone brothy and good chunks of beef rib, usually it leans more on the fishy based side, I really enjoyed my lunch - I recommend trying! read more

This is a cute little place next to Zion Market, unassuming but really nice! It's very clean and cozy, and the service was prompt and welcoming. It's a soon tofu place (as per the name), but there are a few menu items I've never seen. There was a wild sesame soon tofu and a crab miso soon tofu option that I'd never seen anywhere else. We ordered: Soy sauce pork belly entrée - I usually get spicy pork belly, and I really liked this change. It was really meaty (not too fatty), and it was a pretty large portion. Crab miso soon tofu - there was actually big pieces of crab in this one. Not sure different from other soon tofus, but I really enjoyed it. Grilled mackerel - this was more for my mom, but I still had some, and it was perfectly cooked! Dumpling soon tofu - this had plentiful dumplings, and they seemed handmade. Everything was delicious, but honestly my favorite part was the banchan! They had SO MANY of them - a little feast of banchans, and it was a lot of fun. They will also refill them at will. I would come back just for the cute little side dishes, but I'm looking forward to trying the wild sesame soon tofu next time! read more

With the rise of K-Culture, Korean food has become a favorite to many people! In Orange County , our family only goes to a few select Korean restaurants, but after I discovered It's Tofu, it has become our favorite location. My personal favorite is the octopus stone pot bibimbap. Add an additional bowl of rice, and it is perfect to my taste. If you haven't been here, try it! read more

We showed up excited... only to find out they're closed on Mondays. You can imagine the disappointment on my family's faces--and yeah, I was pretty embarrassed, thinking I had messed something up. But I didn't. If a restaurant is closed on certain days, their reservation system shouldn't allow bookings or send confirmations for those days. We never even made it inside, so I can't comment on the food--but this was a frustrating first impression and something they really need to fix.

He wears a cowboy hat, was obnoxiously loud and blew a horn at me because I was looking at the drinks menu on one side of the bar and not in front of it!!!??? the place is casual and open, people walk around freely and no need for directions or for barking orders is ever required. Just beware of this man and stay away from this character. The beautiful day made up for the annoyance. Go to heritage barbecue and thoroughly enjoy the food experience.

Then again, maybe I've just been too distracted by the many Taiwanese options that the Bay Area is so criminally short on... Compared to some of the Chinese BBQ joints that I frequent in the Bay Area, this place felt so much newer and a whole lot cleaner/nicer. That said, while the menu appeared to be a whole lot narrower, they still had a decent selection of offerings to choose from. Along with their nearly twenty different sides/snack dishes, which include items like pig ears with chili sauce, cucumber salad, chicken wings, wontons in chili oil, and tofu skin salad, they also had BBQ meats, like Roasted Duck, Soy Sauce Chicken, and Char Siu, a mix of rice and noodle dishes, and combination plates of their BBQ meats over rice or noodles. Sadly, though, no crispy skin roast pork, which was a huge bummer. -- SWEET FRIED CORN Admittedly, this initially didn't catch my eye, but I'm glad we ended up trying it. Every piece was crispy and I liked how sweet and flavorful the corn was. Plus, it was how this wasn't all that oily, though, I wouldn't have minded a bit more batter for some added crunch. -- WONTONS IN CHILI OIL Not too shabby. Although the skins felt a little overcooked, each piece was fairly plump and I thought the filling was pretty tasty. It was also unexpected to see a bit of broth with the chili oil, but it had a nice flavor to it and just the right amount of spice. -- TWO BBQ ITEM RICE PLATE with Char Siu and Roasted Duck I was the most excited for this, but it left me feeling conflicted. On the plus side, the bowl had a fair amount of both meats and the duck was really good - really juicy and the skin was golden brown. On the other hand, the char siu was super fatty and the rice was mushy. -- DICED GROUND PORK ON RICE...$13.99 More solid than spectacular, but still satisfying enough. Like with the BBQ plate, the meat to rice ratio favored the former and I thought the egg and the veggies complemented this well. At the same time, I wish this had more sauce to it, as the pork look a little dry/pale. In addition to how convenient it was to come here (there was a steady crowd, but it never got packed inside), I appreciated how fast our food came out. Also, I'm not sure if we just got lucky, but it wasn't nearly as hard to find a space in the complex's parking lot as it seemed it would be. Between all of that, the food being decent, and the relatively friendly service, Frank's BBQ & Noodles wasn't bad for some Chinese BBQ. However, it definitely could've been better, especially if Roast Pork had been one of their offerings!

*** SCAM ALERT *** I…read moredon't use the word "SCAM" lightly, but that's what this was. My adult son called in a $281.62 order off the menu for Mother's Day. They would not accept the order or payment over the phone because the order was "too big." They asked that someone go there and pay up front for the entire order. Since it was the evening before Mother's Day, I drove to them and paid for the order. Yes, I was also presented with a minumum 20% TIP screen, which I declined. When I got there at pickup time (4:00pm) on Mother's Day, the price changed to $325.51. I was told that, for some reason, they had cut about 50% larger portions than the menu specified (see the line items, which should have been 1 lb. each), so they charged me for the difference ($325.51 - $281.62) which was $43.89 (about 50% more for the 2 items they cut heavier). No, there was no mention when I placed the order that the total cost might change due to extra meat. Neither is it shown on their web site or printed menus. When I protested, there was no option. If I don't pay the $43.89 difference, I don't get the Mother's Day food. After about 20 minutes of bickering at the counter with two different clerks (note the time stamp differences on the credit card slips), I was given my original order, with a net price reduction of ($281.62 - $254.93) $26.69. My persistence had paid off. On a positive note, the cook did, twice, walk up to me and quietly apologize for what was going on. I know many folks would have folded in this situation, but that's not my nature. I don't stand for dishonesty. Yes, it was embarrassing, other clients in line were not happy (I let them skip ahead of me so as not to inconvenience them). None of them had price increases. I don't know if the clerks wanted a tip because the management doesn't pay them much, or it this goes deeper and is standard operating procedure that assumes most clients will simply approve of the overage and pay up. In any case, from this client's point of view, this is a SCAM! When it was all over, I took my 11 and 12 year old grandsons (who had been sitting patiently waiting for grandpa to pay) and my food package to the car, drove home and proudly presented the meat to my family. After all, I am a hunter-gatherer; and the food was great!

It's located near Zion Market (towards the right side)... The LA Beef Short Rib was so good! I love that... The combo is a better value - each dish is too expensive by itself - even though it might be smaller portion than ordering it by itself; I still think it had a decent amount. I ordered the #34 Combo of the Short Rib + Tofu Soup (Seafood) $33.95. If you order the beef by itself, though, it's $33.95! The soup was good too. #32 Spicy Buckwheat Noodle $18.95 I liked how super cold chilled the noodles were. It's refreshing with a little kick. #27 Bulgogi Stone Pot Bibimbop $21.95 I should NOT have ordered this one. The bibimbop was honestly whatever and not worth that price. The service wasn't that great, though. They never checked on our table. The banchan (side dishes) were just okay. Not all side dishes are refillable. You have to order one order per person to refill side dishes (so if you have 4 people, you need to order at least 4 dishes). Personally, we shouldn't have forced ourselves to order another plate to get the refill. I can see why this place gets busy/popular, though. The short ribs and pork belly were much sweeter than what I'm used to at BCD. The side dishes were just okay, but BCD's are definitely better. Despite the menu stating there's one refill per minimum order, they didn't allow any refills. The tofu soup was alright but I like the flavor and quality of BCD's tofu soup more. Prices here are also $1-$3 more expensive than BCD. I came here to avoid the wait at BCD, but now I realize the wait is worth it. Even though BCD is super busy, they always provide excellent service. I'd been hearing about this restaurant on social media for quite a while and I was super excited to try it out. And it was totally worth the hype! I got the seafood soondubu and the broth was so full of flavor. There was plenty of seafood in the stew too. But I feel like the real value is their side dishes. The quality of food here is good and they're generous in their portions. It's nice to go to a soondubu restaurant that doesn't nickel and dime you. Service was friendly and prompt too! The seating in the restaurant is mostly made for smaller parties though, so that's something you might want to consider if you have a larger group. I really enjoyed my meal! The galbi was so tasty and it was perfectly marinated and tender. I also ordered the dumpling tofu soup, which was a pleasant surprise because it had little bits of beef in it, adding extra richness to the broth. The side dishes were fresh and flavorful, and I especially loved the pancake and the glass noodle. Both were standout dishes. The only downside was that the service was a little slow, but to be fair, they seemed understaffed that night. Still, the staff was friendly when they did check in.
