We have lived in Southern California for about two years now so I'm surprised that it took us so long to try this place out. As you can see in the picture provided food was in abundance... no notes 10 out of 10.

You know sometimes with highly rated up and coming Asian restaurants, I get a little skeptical of the authenticity of the dishes. Like for me, there's a prime difference in expectations with Din Tai Fung and Kei Concept restaurants vs your typical mom and pop business. Yet as someone who has had soondobu throughout the years, of all different variations, I can say that this one of my most favorites that I've tasted. And I could already tell from the moment I entered. Although the establishment looks modern, it has a traditional feel, with wooden tables, flat chopsticks, and the friendly but bustling Korean auntie waitresses who eagerly refilled the banchan at our table. The soondobu came out pipping high and I had to wait a little so I didn't burn my mouth. But with the first bites, I experienced a warm, comforting flavor with its deeply rich broth and silken tofu. Pair this meal with the marinated fish cake, fried fish, and japchae noodles and you have absolute perfection. I'll be returning soon for another meal~ (And yes that definitely beats BCD in terms of taste, cost, and wait time.)

I came to try new item today (Jokbal salad) as well as get the fried yellow croaker and bibimbab. The Jokbal salad was refreshing and delicious, while I love the crunch and slight burned rice of the stone pot bibimbab. They were all so good! Staff were busy and attentive. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. Come early evening before the long line starts.

There was no wait and we were seated right away Monday evening. It did take a while for the food to come out though. I got the beef tofu soup and it was very savory. I like that they give you a lot of beef and tofu. I got mild which wasn't too spicy for me at all and still had a kick. The sides were also good. I liked the tteokbokki that came with the fish cakes. The staff was also very attentive and would ask if we needed anything.

Rating: 9/10 Third time trying It's Tofu this is officially my go-to now. Better than BCD. Banchan was all very fresh and well-prepared. The fried fish is great. Hot, crispy skin with flaky meat. LA galbi was solid, good flavor and portion. The pork tofu soup (ordered spicy) had a real kick. I usually go medium, but spicy was still enjoyable. Broth was rich and satisfying. Overall, super consistent across visits. Quality, fresh, and great service.

Can't wait to come here again ! The fish was the super crispy, which is exactly how it should be. The galbi (short ribs) came out steaming hot and perfectly seasoned If you're looking for a solid Korean spot with great portions and quality, this is it!

This place is called Its Tofu, but the braised cod fish dish is bussin!!! It must be an insider item because most tables were enjoying it. The sauce is savory, fish is flakey, radish is a nice touch.. this dish is way easy to eat. Great to share among 2-3 people. Bonus points for friendly service and clean establishment! This is the spot for casual comfort Korean food with sundubu as the main dish and a variety of combination options to choose from. Highly recommend the stone pot bibimbap or the cold noodle. Best part is after multiple visits trying different dishes, the food is consistently delicious and staff always gives great service. The restaurant seating is limited and can get busy on weekend during meal times so best to get on Yelp waitlist on your way there

I like It's Tofu better than BCD, haha. In my opinion, the best flavor is the Crab Miso soondubu. The inside is really clean, service is really fast, and the banchan selection is great and they come in generous portions. While it is a bit pricier than other places, it's worth it just for the Crab Miso.

Came here the other week and the food was great. The service was good as well. Today we came back and there was barely anyone there. When we sat down we asked for hot tea, and the waitress gave a disgusted face and sighed like we ruined her day. Won't be coming back here. No point to be treated like we owe the restaurant our time or energy. This girls service is the worst we've ever experienced, I hope the manager read this review and realize how a bad server could ruin the entire customer experience of how good the food is or other servers are. read more

Every time I called, I was told that we couldn't make reservations, even for more than six people. So we had to wait for a seat. One time, my husband invited eight people to a dinner party at noon. In order to get a seat, my husband went to wait at 11:00. However, the waitress refused to let us in because not all people had arrived. We were not allowed to enter the restaurant until 11:50. Today at noon, we had a lunch gathering of six people at 11:30 am. Because we couldn't make reservations, a friend arrived at 11 o'clock and told the waitress that there were six of us and asked her to queue up first. But she refused, saying that we couldn't get in because not all of us had arrived. However, when 11:30 came, we had already arrived, but the empty tables were full of side dishes and no guests. I asked her if she couldn't make reservations? How could the tables be reserved? The waitress replied that reservations could be made 10 minutes ago. So the seats had already been booked. What kind of logic is this? Guests who arrived at 11:00 could not get seats, but guests who arrived at 11:20 could make reservations. But at 11:30 when all six of us arrived, those empty tables were full of side dishes and no one was there? This kind of waitress does not treat customers equally and has a bad attitude. "It's Tofu " is not a restaurant worth visiting again! Arrogance is only thing in this terrible place! read more

Great service from start to finish! All the side dishes are as authentic and delicious as ever. The bulgogi is so tender and perfect. The kimchi beef tofu base is probably one of the best and I'm Korean. Came here for the buckwheat noodle in cold broth and it didn't disappoint. read more

Husband and i came here a few weeks ago, and we had the spicy raw crab combo and the galbi, and the food was delicious. There was a little bit of a wait when we got there, but they moved pretty quick. Ambiance is loud with everyone packed in there since it was a small spot, but I'm used to that in most asian restaurants so that did not detract from how good the food tasted. And I was stuffed after so the portion was definitely enough. read more

The food is great. Side dishes even better! You can just order one combo set for like $20 and get full for 2 people with leftovers. My only problem is that they had Yelp reservations but didn't honor it at the time. Had to wait like 45 mins which caused my hangry girlfriend to get very mad at me. Other than that I highly recommend this over BCD tofu. Their side dishes really set them apart from other tofu houses. read more

She said no, you can only get seated on tables for 1. Then she proceeded to say it's a 30-40 min wait again as if I didn't already know that for the second time. I told her i'd wait, but now i'm feeling bad and don't know if she even cares to earn my business. It's my 5th time coming here, and unfortunately this place was one of my favorite Korean restaurants and since I'm from out of town I make sure to visit each time I am in the OC. I'm not sure if I want to continue coming back here if service remains this way. It's embarrassing enough to come alone, it's even worse when you're called out in front of people inside of the restaurant while there are only 3 people waiting outside. When I got seated she didn't even give me a menu and asked me what I wanted. Lucky for her i'm Korean and was already a repeat customer from the early days so I was able to order right away-otherwise how could I order? It's located near Zion Market (towards the right side)... The LA Beef Short Rib was so good! I love that... The combo is a better value - each dish is too expensive by itself - even though it might be smaller portion than ordering it by itself; I still think it had a decent amount. I ordered the #34 Combo of the Short Rib + Tofu Soup (Seafood) $33.95. If you order the beef by itself, though, it's $33.95! The soup was good too. #32 Spicy Buckwheat Noodle $18.95 I liked how super cold chilled the noodles were. It's refreshing with a little kick. #27 Bulgogi Stone Pot Bibimbop $21.95 I should NOT have ordered this one. The bibimbop was honestly whatever and not worth that price. The service wasn't that great, though. They never checked on our table. The banchan (side dishes) were just okay. Not all side dishes are refillable. You have to order one order per person to refill side dishes (so if you have 4 people, you need to order at least 4 dishes). Personally, we shouldn't have forced ourselves to order another plate to get the refill. I can see why this place gets busy/popular, though. I wish the prices were more reasonable for each dish though, so the combo makes it more in the regular price range/per dish. read more

Despite the menu stating there's one refill per minimum order, they didn't allow any refills. The tofu soup was alright but I like the flavor and quality of BCD's tofu soup more. Prices here are also $1-$3 more expensive than BCD. I came here to avoid the wait at BCD, but now I realize the wait is worth it. Even though BCD is super busy, they always provide excellent service.
