Service: The service is a 1 out of 5. My order was "to go." I came in on October 16, 2025, and the host was looking at her phone and seemed irritated that I didn't know I was to order using the kiosk. She seemed to get more irritated when I asked her about selecting the sides on the kiosk. She was rude and made me feel as thought I was interrupting her as she scrolled on her phone. When my order was ready, the person in the back, rang a bell and put my food in the window. I watched my food order sit in the window as the host talked to 2 customers who were dining in. I asked the host if I was supposed to walk back there and get my own food out of the window. She said no...again, she seemed irritated that I interrupted her conversation. Food: The food is a 4 out of 5. I ordered cornbread and with " Just The Sides (4-sides):" 2 Mac and cheese, yams, and cabbage. I enjoyed everything except the Mac and cheese. I've been meaning to try ITSO Vegan for a while, and today I finally did! I called in a takeout order for the Country Fried Chik'n Dinner, and the Salisbury Steak, both with a side of Kale Greens and Mac N Cheez. OMG everything was so good! The standout for me was the handmade seitan "chicken" cutlet, which was fried up to perfection. The gravy was so flavorful. The kale greens had a sweet flavor to them, and the mac n cheez was flavored and cooked to perfection. A must try when you're in the DFW area. Will be back next time I'm in town. We went here the other day for lunch. The fries are excellent! Definitely get some. We each got a sandwich - I fell for the picture of one on the wall with mac and cheese in it - I mean that has to be good, right? Well, the one I got didn't look quite like that - it was pretty messy to eat and on its own - not super flavorful. Hot sauce helped. I had to scrape out the mac and cheese to successfully eat the rest of the sandwich. I will say those seitan burger meat patties - they are serious. It's a lot. They could be half that thickness and you would still be full. I finished mine and didn't need dinner - it was like eating a brick! BUT with that said you will not leave hungry. I get it's a vegan place and I will say they are doing a good job - but a little tweaking could have made that sandwich excellent instead of ok. The greens were very good! However, the "fish patty's were terrible. The supposedly cheese steak sandwich wasn't impossible burger, barely chopped up with little seasoning. but and also barely filled up the sub bread. The fries were definitely great value seasoned French cut fries. The cornbread is an absolute no I can't even describe it... I'm really into what ITSO Vegan is doing and happy to see a locally owned vegan restaurant between Fort Worth and Dallas. Their motto is "feeding the soul without harming a soul," which clearly is perfect for a vegan soul food restaurant. The menu is classic American comfort food through and through: country fried chicken, Salisbury Steak, a fried fish and shrimp basket, Philly cheesesteak, "monster" mac and cheese, your classic cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, nachos, a fried fish or fried chicken sandwich, mashed potatoes and gravy, candied yams, collard greens, seasoned french fries, cornbread, cheesecake, chocolate cake... and it's all vegan. The prices are also affordable and incredibly reasonable considering the vegan ingredients and quality of food. I actually ordered the most expensive meal on the menu for $16.95, the Salisbury Steak (a gluten free option), and it was fantastic. Really well seasoned and savory and the textures were all just right. Two servings of mashed potatoes with a rich brown gravy and two Beyond Meat (pea protein) patties that I couldn't differentiate from a traditional hamburger patty. All of that still came with two sides, so I got the kale greens and then the French fries to share with my coworker. Meanwhile, my friend had the wonton nachos and I found myself really wishing wontons were gluten free, I just wanted one bite! These nachos are a very generous portion of fried wonton chips topped with taco meat crumbles, cashew queso cheese, fresh tomatoes, shredded lettuce, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. Yes yes and yes. The restaurant venue itself is a bit untraditional and almost fast-casual style. When you venture inside you'll meet a host at the counter who will greet you and let you know to scan the QR code at your table to make your order and to pay. Your food will come out shortly and be brought to you, served in disposable containers. It's all very casual and easy going. Comfortable. While we ate at the restaurant, my coworker and I saw lots of people pop in to pick up an order to go. It's nice to see so many people eating meat free, we're definitely trying to do it more often. I was very pleased to find this all vegan spot on a recent pass through Grand Prairie. Itso vegan is a soul food / comfort food spot with a variety of dishes available. I ordered ahead, opting for the country fried chicken plate. It comes with mashed potatoes and two sides. When I got there on a late Friday afternoon, the space (which is large) was mostly empty but not too surprising for that in-between time. The staff member service was very friendly. Unfortunately, one of the sides I ordered was sold out so I subbed for something else. I was a bit disappointed as I was looking forward to kale greens but so it goes. Not sure if this is a regular occurrence but something to look out for. But how was it??? The country fried chicken very much hit the spot and all the sides were super delicious. I stopped by this new vegan restaurant while visiting Grand Prairie, and I'm so glad I did! I wasn't sure when I'd be back, so I sampled a few things--the nachos, mac n cheese, and the jackfruit "fish" sandwich. Everything was so good, but the sandwich was especially memorable--it's actually the first jackfruit dish I've ever truly enjoyed. The food alone would've made it worth the visit, but the customer service really elevated the whole experience. CJ was super welcoming and gave great recommendations. I felt genuinely taken care of. For starters this was me and my kiddos first time visiting an all vegan restaurant! When i tell you everything was vegan and everything was incredible, man. So walking in me and my people didn't know what to expect but the service from Cj set the tone! There was diversity, plenty of seating, cool vibes and from that moment on i just knew the food would be top tier. When i ordered everything i even double checked about the "bacon" that came on my ITSO burger because i am 90% pescatarian and i absolutely don't eat pork or beef and rest assured as advertised EVERYTHING IS VEGAN ahaha. Although it took some time which is always a good sign they make everything fresh to order plus with it being busy lunch hour everything came out fantastic. i look forward to returning with friends and trying a couple more different options. I wanted to love this place, but sadly I didn't. I stopped in for lunch yesterday. I got the fish and shrimp basket with water. Oddly their meals come with a cornbread muffin. The meal consisted of the aforementioned cornbread muffin, vegan shrimp and fish fillets made from jackfruit, and curly fries. The meal came out hot, so that's a plus. The fries and muffin were really good, but the shrimp and fish were not. They had a heavy seasonless crust on them; it was entirely to thick and heavy. They have other items on the menu, but I doubt if I will return to try them. read more

Edit: I posted this same review on Google and the owner said it was spam. They clearly have incredibly low integrity. I've also added a photo of their menu with a date and time stamp. Well that went downhill very quickly. If I could give them negative stars I would. I noticed that when I tried to order via the yelp app the price of the Villy Cheesesteak was $17.95. When I looked at their website the prices said it was $11.95 so I decided to call my order in to get the lower price. When the woman on the phone said my total it was $29+. I only got the Wontons and the the Villy Cheesesteak which comes to about $24 so I asked her what each item cost. She said that the VC was $14.95 which I then informed her says $11.95 on the website(screenshots provided). I requested a price adjustment (which I would've have made up in the tip bc I always tip them) she said no and I KID YOU NOT... SHE HUNG UP THE PHONE I called back and asked to speak to a manager and the same woman answered and said she was the OWNER then proceeds to say I was speaking to customer service before... LOL and that the PDF menu was outdated... UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE! Back in town for the week, so I'm always looking for new spots that I've never been to before. I saw ITSOVEGAN on Yelp, it was close by, so I checked it out. This place is incredible! I normally don't give 5 stars on one visit, but based on the service, food, and everyone else's ratings, a 5 is well deserved! I ordered the Salisbury Steak with potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, and a side of greens. My order came out relatively quickly. The steaks were great. Beyond patties covered in gravy. The gravy really made this dish...it took the Steak and potatoes to a different level. My favorite part of the meal had to be the greens though....so awesome! The hoagies were huge, they were packed with perfectly seasoned seitan, mushrooms, onions and peppers, and oozing with the most delicious vegan provolone cheese ever... There were options to customize your meal too... such as adding extra mushrooms, leaving off the mayo, etc and my husband added jalapeños to his ... I chose the vegan mac and cheese as my side, and it was pretty good... a bit spicy, but I like spice. I also had the vegan flaxseed cornbread which was a perfect addition. The next time I'm there, I'm grabbing 5 or 10 of them to go!! They're small... The restaurant atmosphere is extremely laid back. Come on grab a menu, seat yourself and order at the kiosk. They bring your food out to you in black to go containers. Must be a Covid thing, but it works because then you won't have to ask for a to go container if needed. Smartttttt I order the "vhilly cheesesteak" and it was pretty tasty. The bun was nice and soft, and the "beyond meat" was very well seasoned. Although I'd rather have the real thing, it was quite impressive. Pleasantly surprised to say the least. One thing I have to add is: The fountain water was amazing here. Definitely something to be mentioned. It Tasted better than bottled water. I definitely Was not a fan of the macaroni, but I guess that's what happens when you are not a true vegan, and you're used to the real thing! We enjoy this place as a family, it's the ONLY place our baby son will eat Vegan mac and cheese. As a Vegan this place for me is my Vegan junk food / fast food option for those cheat days. We eat mainly fresh, raw Vegan and if I cook Vegan it's not processed it's still made from scratch. I think this place is perfect for people looking to switch over to a Vegan lifestyle or someone trying to incorporate non animal based meals into their routine. My husband and I favorite (the only item we order) is the nachos fully loaded. Our sons enjoy the Mac and cheese as well as the nachos. They had the ChiXen & Waffles before and it was okay . The waffle was extremely thick and the ChiXen is Soy based I believe if it's not it is definitely processed so I won't allow them to have it again. Definitely a place to check out, the music is good and usually there is a nice staffing. Just recently it was horrible only one person taking orders for to go also taking orders for dine in and also running the food SOLO. So today I went and tried this vegan restaurant for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the nachos were. They were flavorful and crispy. I would definitely eat those again. I also tried the spicy chicken sandwich and was not a fan. It tasted very fake and was not flavorful at all. The Mac and cheese was also disgusting and had a very weird flavor. Good Lord, was it tasty! The chicken was cooked just right with spectacular flavor which in my experience is hard to do when vegan places make their own chicken. The potatoes were creamy and delicious with a savory gravy. Here's today's experience: So, I'm here again and repeating the chicken sandwich however was very surprised to get a deal with a lunch special price, sweet! I splurged on a creamy rich piece of strawberry cheesecake slice. My order got lost and I never did get the cheesecake. Very disappointing service today. I didn't want to slam them on the review because my first experience was so good. I'm very glad this wasn't my first experience or I probably would t be back. I went here for a couple times. Do not recommend dine in -- the air circulation inside is very poor, can hardly focus on the dining due to smell and smoke from frying. The Salisbury Steak tastes good and comes in good portion, but it did not come with mushroom topping as shown in the picture, which is quite disappointing. Despite the high price, all food comes in disposable plastics and makes them look very fast-food like. Felt a little misled there, as it's supposed to be a healthier dine-in place. Came the second time for a to-go order to try out Just the Sides. The server took my specific order for 4 different sides and promised to be able to get a taste of different sides, but I ended up getting 3 of the same sides, which are all cabbages (and a little bit of kale) only. Very disappointed as I promised my son to try out the curly fries. Their chocolate cake though comes in good portion, but has a texture closer to brownies, which makes me feel a little disappointed. They might as well list it as a brownie instead. As a family with 4 vegetarians we try our best to support local vegan and vegetarian restaurants, as well as restaurants with vegetarian or vegan options as much as we can.
