I hate leaving negative reviews, but I feel like this experience deserves to be shared. The biggest issue was the customer service at the front counter. The lady working the front desk came across as very rude from the moment I walked in. There was no greeting, no smile, and it felt like I was inconveniencing her just by placing an order. When I had a simple question about the menu, her response was short and dismissive, making the interaction uncomfortable. Good customer service goes a long way, and unfortunately that was completely missing during my visit. That being said, I also want to give credit where it's due. The food was outstanding. The burger was cooked perfectly, the toppings were fresh, the fries were hot and crispy, and everything tasted like it was made to order. Whoever is working in the kitchen is doing an excellent job because the quality of the food was far better than the service I received at the counter. It's disappointing because this place has the potential to be one of my favorites based on the food alone. I would gladly come back for another burger, but I really hope management addresses the customer service at the front. Great food can bring people in, but rude interactions can easily drive customers away. I hope this was just an off day, because the kitchen deserves a lot of praise while the front-of-house experience definitely needs improvement. read more

I order chili cheese dogs and specifically asked what type of cheese was used (I wanted shredded cheddar). After waiting about 15 mins for my order, I got all the way home and it was the wrong cheese (nacho cheese). Because I didn't want to drive back to the restaurant after fighting Friday evening traffic to get home, I have to eat the cost of this order vs eating what I ordered. I haven't been here is a few years, but I wanted to update my review of this place because it has one of the most delicious Philly cheesesteak sandwiches that I have ever had the pleasure to experience. I didn't have a lot of Philly cheesesteaks in Texas, but as I stated in a previous review, I've been to Philly since the first review and was treated to The Original Philly's. I can honestly say, in my humble opinion, the flavor of the JBB Philly cheesesteak tastes better. The chicken cheesesteak does not taste as good as the beef as far as I'm concerned. The atmosphere here is non-existent. There are a couple of TVs to watch if you are dining alone, and some old Dairy Queen-sryle booths for seating. The counter you order from is more plexiglass and masking tape than is reasonable, yet, despite that, they still manage to scrape out some of the most delicious food you'll ever taste on a budget. I like the booths, if that was unclear. They are a worn, smooth wood that conforms to your body, and nothing beats a napkin dispenser at the table, except maybe some better napkins. They provide the ones from your school cafeteria here. If you need to go to the restroom while your here, get ready for a wild ride. It's in a weird spot and there's usually a slew of boxes in the way. Anytime I am near this place, I will be stopping in for another one of those incredible Philly cheesesteaks. I've driven by this place several times and today I decided to try it.I walked in and looked around and it's pretty much a hole in the wall.I looked at the board and they have quite a bit on things on their menu.I already had a burger on my mind so I decided to get the double cheeseburger combo.After i ordered I sat down in one of their booths and waited.They were kind of busy so it took a minute for my burger to come out.So it finally came out and as I looked at it,it looked pretty good with a nice solid bun.So as I took a bite of it I was a little disappointed.They cooked the meat a little too long for me.The burger was a little dry.It wasn't bad but it wasn't nice and juicy like I like it.Now the fries were pretty tasty and seasoned very well.Had no problem with them.Overall the meal and price wasn't bad but i wouldn't say great.Ive definitely had better.But if you're in neighborhood give it a shot. read more

A very plain and bland burger. I'm tired of thin hamburger patties and wanted a more substantial burger. I wanted something beefy and juicy, the thin patties are simply dry and tasteless. This burger has a taste. And it tastes like anyone's grilled burger at home. I was really hoping for something more exciting. And then I hit the bone chips. When I was younger, I used to joke that I then at least knew it was real meat. But at 69, my teeth aren't as forgiving as they once were. The first bone fragment was about 1/8". It wasn't huge, but my molars weren't pleased hitting it. And then a couple bites later, I landed solidly on a bone piece a full 1/4" square. That's a sizable chunk of bone by any estimation. It will be safe to say I will never give this place a second chance. The fries tasted no better than the burger. They're a match made in, well, somewhere lacking clouds and harps. read more

This spot has a menu with almost everything on it. I came here with my family. I got the bacon cheeseburger with curly fries. My kids got the hot wings, cheeseburger, and corndog bites. The negatives were the the fountain drinks was dirty. Meaning there's was stuff floating that was able to be seen in the clearer sodas they do give you an option of the bottle or fountain drink so opt for the bottled drink. The corn dog bites wasn't a hit with my kid. The positives: Customer Service was really good. They let me swap out my fountain for bottled drinks with no issues. The burgers was also pretty good, but nothing to drive across town for but very enjoyable. The hot wings was very delicious and was eaten to the bone. Some reviews says this place is in a sketchy part of down I can see why, but for me it wasn't s problem being my family here. I came on a Saturday around lunch time. Prices are good and the food is good. Cleanliness and the facts I can get better quality food will be the only thing keeping me from returning. No, no, no! Jimmy's Big Burger, never again! My first and last time to eat here. Ordered the Musroom burger and added grilled Jalapeño. Nothing big about the burger. I don't even think it was a 1/4 lb. single patty. I was expecting a thick burger patty, not a smash burger. I read they had great onion rings. On a Yelp review. My mushroom burger tasted just like my rings. Over cooked and flavorless and dry. I was able to choke down some onion rings, but only ate 1/3 rd of the burger. I could not endure another bite. What a waste of $14. So bad I'm am going to have to stop someplace else and get something to clear my pallet. I have a nasty taste in my mouth tha Altoids can't cut thru. Plus, I got the bonus of the A/C barley working. Sweating while trying to choke down food unfit for human consumption. I wish you could choose "0" stars. Our burgers were huge, obviously hand shaped, well seasoned and tasty. The fried pickles were wonderfully thick sliced and perfectly cooked. The drink choices are not the best. They offer no diet sodas or unsweetened tea, so if you can't have sugar plan on drinking water. The sweet potato fries were also pretty under seasoned. Almost didn't go inside because this seems to be in a sketchy location with a few loitering people and just a weird vibe. Upon entering we were met with a board of items on the wall and the person taking our order suggested that we split a double which we did and we split an order of fries as well. We finished it off with two Mexican cokes. The food was excellent and the price $15 to feed two people was great. It appears the other half of the restaurant might be a donut shop. Location is a tad sketchy but the burger is good. I'm not sure if it's top 5, but it's close. The patty melt, I wasn't a fan of. I wouldn't order it again. But the burger named after this place is pretty decent (minus mushrooms). I like the fact it comes with two cheeses (American and Provolone). we asked for no mayo, but they put it on anyway. So watch your order. I don't get regular fries because they aren't that good to me. I get curly fries instead. Fries are like $3.25, for an "ok sized" non shareable portion, so go ahead and get the combo. Staff: seemed nice. I tipped the lady $2 because she was informative. She spoke English, but that wasn't her first language. Her family ( I think they were her family) was sitting in a booth to the immediate left of the cash register. Cleanliness : not really clean. Three booths needed to be wiped down.... the bathroom was terrible. Ambience - ehh it's a burger place but I definitely don't go for the ambience. I would rather get a to go order and take it home. The burgers were huge and delicious. I ordered the Texas burger with fried egg and my hubby ordered bacon cheese burger. We upgraded to combo which includes fries and bottle drink. I decided to try their sweet potato fries and he ordered the seasoned fries.... NOT impressed with them at all. The fries were really dark yet soft which means they cooked them in really old grease. I really hate I waisted extra money to get them. I'm willing to try them again just for the burgers and philly cheesesteaks because the burgers were seasoned to perfection. Great food but don't ever order here from DoorDash or other delivery services. They'll accept the order but never make it! We ordered delivery from here and the store confirmed and began preparing it immediately with a 45 minute ETA. About 20 minutes into it, the driver arrived to wait for the order. 30 MINUTES LATER, the driver messaged me telling me he had to cancel the order due to how long it was taking. He then said that the staff was very rude and refused to help him or even start preparing my food. Instead, they would immediately service any customer that walked in and would prepare and give them their food very quickly. I eventually had to end up having DoorDash support cancel my order because if I cancelled it myself I wouldn't get a refund since it was already being "prepared". What a scam! The hubby is working across the street at the GM plant and I like to have lunch with him on Sundays. He had suggested this place because he can just walk to it. The place is a small hole in the wall place with about 5-6 tables and is attached to a donut store. I got there before him and went inside to order. I was not greeted upon entry or even when I stepped up to the counter, instead the girl just looked at me. They have a large menu with several different burgers, appetizers, and sides. I ordered the corn dogs and fries for the kiddo, patty melt with fries for the hubs, and the Jimmy's bigger burger with tots for myself. The price of the burger does not include fries or a drink, but the regular combos come with 2 12oz cans of your choice of soda. I'm not a big soda fan, so I wish there would have been an option for some tea or something. The food was cooked fresh and did take some time to get to the table. My burger was large and the patty looked hand formed with some char around the edges. It was thick and juicy! The bun had been toasted and may have remained on the grill a little too long, as it was a little hard, but I didn't mind. It had a decent flavor but seemed to lack a little in the seasoning department so I added some salt which made it perfect. The burger was serves with a heap of tots, way more than I could ever finish. I ended up taking most of the tots and half my burger homes with me. The patty melt was HUGE as it came with 2 patties. They did leave off the grilled onions, but my hub didn't seem to care. The fries were hand cut and very good. The kiddo enjoyed his corn dogs but wasn't a fan of the fries and he said my burger was delicious. Over all, we had a good experience and I would definitely come back to try different burgers. Next time, I will probably split something with the kiddo since they give you so much food. For that reason I was able to justify the $30 price tag. read more

Jimmy's Big Burger is guaranteed to satisfy your home style burger cravings! These burgers remind me of the ones I used to get from the Fina Gas Stations. Good, not too greasy, and full of flavor! They're not far from the GM plant next to a mechanic shop. Make sure to look for the big red letters as we did pass it initially! Everyone seems like family here and makes you feel like family. It's clean, quaint, and quiet. There are several styles of burger to choose from but it's something about Bacon and Bleu Cheese that makes my mouth water. Low and behold, they have a Bacon & Bleu burger and it does not disappoint! The fries are also on point which is a plus because at most places, the fries are just for decoration. These fries are for devouring! You get a cold pop with your meal which is clutch in this weather! The owner was nice enough to give a couple more as he saw we had long throats.
