This place is actually pretty fun. A lot of stores have come and gone on this level of the mall because it's kind of out of the way but we decided to stop in here as we were walking to Target. The layout of the store is actually pretty organized with different themes; a "world" section with candies from Europe and Japan, an entire section dedicated to Oreos and another to Sour Patch Kids, and a bunch of other stuff sprinkled in between. The assortment of candies is great, and while there are plenty of big name candy brands throughout the store, there are plenty of things in here as well that you can't find every day. Part of our haul included Harry Potter Butter Beer and Chocolate Frogs, and freeze dried space ice cream for example. Is this a place I need to go every day? No, and I probably shouldn't if I care about my health. But it's definitely worth checking out and kids will love it. read more

This is definitely not the candy aisle at your local supermarket with only a sampling of chocolates, jelly beans and a pack of gum or two. These folks are artists in assembling THE GREATEST COLLECTION OF CANDY IN HAWAII !!! I would love to work there but would end up being 5000 pounds or more. Every corner has shelves with large boxes of candy and other goodies. They have sections where one can select their own treats. Scattered around the store are mascots from the various candies (Do I hear photo op?) with the candies prominently displayed. The sales persons are great and know pretty much where every decadent candy is located in the store. It's a wonderful addition to Ala Moana and I'll need to stop by regularly. I will say the Sugar HIgh Club is non-existent (darn!) but would be a nice name for a frequent shopper program (hint, hint). Check it out! read more

Get your sweet tooth ready. I came here after eating at bdubs right across from its sugar. I wanted some dessert. The candy store is huge and has all your childhood favorites. The best news is that they put an oreo cafe inside that serves icecream desserts! I love oreo so i had to check it out. I tried the oreo brownie cup. You choose if you want vanilla icecream or oreo or swirl. I got the oreo because there was going to be plenty of oreo and chocolate on there already. There is sprinkle of oreo crumbles, whip cream, an oreo cookie and soft brownie. The icecream had a nice creamy texture which i loved. The brownie was warm and soft and went well with the icecream. I would recommend trying the oreo cafe. The lines get long though. The price is also pretty high for desserts. But if you love oreo then stop by. The store is located at the top floor of the ala moana center near bdubs and target. Plenty of parking available which is a plus. read more

"Wow factor" even before you get inside. From the lollipop light fixtures, to the world of CandyLand wonder through the large class windows from outside. XXL Gummy Bears, Oreo, Hershey, and Cheeto everything, swirl lollipops, etc. Its Sugar has Self-serve candy bins and weight scales tas they do charge according to the weight of your candy. We bought 1lb which came out to just under $20. We even stopped by the Oreo Counter to have a delicious Oreo shake. Best I've tasted to date. read more

This store let alone where it is, is perfect to take your kids to have ALOT. Of fun. There's locals, tourists EVERYBODY comes in here so it's a rainbow of people and candy. Everyone loves it! Now you can buy some limited editions stuff here too for like hello kitty and other cute figures but the prices are Scarey . As far as candy goes what I really loved was the whole Hawaii theme. I also really liked how I could find old style candy here. Stuff that was popular when I was a kid but I've also seen super old style candy as well. It was nostalgic. Overall this place is so fun and you will leave with at least one piece of candy lol. There's a jungle gym nearby so the kids can burn out the sugar haha. The Oreo "bar" was sad though. Having limited editions Oreos would have been a nice touch and maybe an Oreos s'mores spot? Or just let another sweet dominate that area. I brought my 6-year-old daughter to grab a few varieties of candy (9/19/23 at 5:33 pm at the register I saw a dollar sign I asked the clerk which candy was a Dollar and she answered me rudely and she was so unfriendly her name was Tauri. When I asked her which candy was a dollar she answered me rudely and said "Whatever you see in front of you I grabbed one she said I rather you ask me before you grab I don't want you to ruin the display " I was grabbing the SOW sour belts that were in front of me. One of the biggest candy stores I've been to - but they are expensive. Don't get carried away choosing candy in one of those clear plastic bags. It's based on weight, but our 2/3 full bag of selected candies 30+ dollars. I say enjoy the atmosphere of the store and get items you can't find at a supermarket but skip the regular candies. Also, I saw people being scolded for not using plastic gloves before picking up the tongs when choosing candy from the bins. Here's a suggestion - instead of chasing around customers to tell them to wear disposable plastic gloves and use tongs, place a big sign at each entrance (maybe with sample pictures, or hell, even a box of gloves so they can each take one before they walk in) so they know what to do before they go in. Tourists coming in here - they will not all know what to do. Great store, but definitely geared towards tourists. Expensive too. read more

I can say...my daughter LOVED this place. It is extremely cute, has some pretty rare stuff, adorable items, and even tons of the basics, my issue is with the prices. It is EXPENSIVE! Fun to browse for about 15 minutes for the novelty experience. A single peek at the exorbitant prices such as ~$18 a pound for candy that is easily accessible elsewhere makes you beeline it out of there. I give them a year before their store beelines it out of Ala Moana. read more

What A Store! Absolute wall-to-wall sugar & candy everywhere. Kid heaven! The inside displays were artistic & eye-catching because mostly everything was made of candy- especially jellybeans. Theres a wide variety of old-school and popular candy like gummy bears, sour belts, M&Ms etc. You can mix & match or buy the gigantic gummy bear. They sell alot of plush stuffed animal merchandise, clothes, and POP figurines. Prices are more expensive than buying from Longs/Walmart but its great to look around. read more

More sweet than a bunch of Girl Scouts hustling you for boxes of the good stuff or comparable to it, IT'Sugar delivers the overdose of sugar in whatever snack/candy you want. They had a Hawaii Exclusive Sour Patch Kid which I'm sure if I had eaten it and I had taken a blood test, my blood would look like rock candy. Anyway for the main event they had an Oreo Cafe which would've made NBA 2X MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo do a double take! If you love Oreos like myself and the Greek Freak, they've got Oreo everything. The walls were slathered with the infamous Blue and White, and the menu is a mix of inventive, exotic Oreo desserts as well as stuff your face type of sundaes. I had the brownie sundae which had Oreo soft serve like LEGIT Oreo and not "oReO" flavored product from other shops. The brownie was good but not change your undergarments good, I guess that's hard to come by.
