    Al pastor tacos
    Sally V.

This is inside Timeout market so it was pretty pricey. I'm from Texas so I've had a lot of good tacos, and I'd say these were a 6/10. The tortillas were really greasy and it didn't come with any salsa. The pork was decent. I ordered via QR code and picked up at the counter so can't speak to service.

    Guacamole, Chips and Salsa Trio

if every walk across the Brooklyn Bridge ended with chips and guacamole then the world would probably be a friendlier place. Ivy Stark Mexology is one of the many food stands in the Time Out Market food hall in DUMBO. there's just something about simple high-quality guac that can make even the most calorie-starved person go from "hangry" to sated in the mere moments it takes to inhale some chips dipped into some flavorful chunky green gold. the folks i was with also had a variety of tacos which they devoured quickly. my calories were the simple delight of the crispy fried corn chips covered in avocados smashed in lime with layers of pomegranate and pepitas plus a trio of salsa. whether you make your mileage by foot through a sweltering day to find air-conditioned respite in DUMBO or just UBER it to a casual place to sit down and eat...then the guac and chips is a necessary starter to a meal at the Time Out Market. let the chips fall where they may...into your mouth. there's a good amount of seating in the food hall, itself. pretty clean considering how many people roll through here. ordering was easy. you get a wireless buzzer that goes off when your food is ready and you just go pick it up. service was friendly.

the girl who refushed to give us the food we paid for

If I could give 0 stars just for that girl in the pink shirt. First of all SHE took our order and literally saw us pay. After 40 minute wait for our food, we would follow up, be patient then she proceeded to gaslight us and tell us we didnt pay, when I had the history on my apple pay and physically showed it to her. Then she reprinted us the receipt for our first order and then saw she hid the other receipt in her hand which showed our order number that we paid for second one. At that point she knew she was wrong and she was laughing talking under her breath mocking about us to her coworker. The coworker knew she was wrong too and didnt listen to her and just told us give me a second ill make the order for you. We asked the pink shirt girl for an explanation or at least just an apology at this point and she just said no. Looking at the reviews this isnt the first time its happened and I think its all the same girl I dont know why or how she hasnt lost her job yet. Gurl stop holding our tacos hostage and just learn to say sorry when you're wrong its that easy.

Ok. The meat was a bit tough and the taco was a bit dry. The taco truck on Jay street is 100x better ‍

The chicken mole enchiladas are excellent. Food is consistently good and service is quick. I'm surprised by the negative reviews.

The taco was decent. I also tried the chicken and shrimp burrito bowl. The sauce was good but a little expensive

BUT, imho Adel's doesn't really taste as good as the original Halal Guys in terms of flavor and fragrance. The chicken from Adel's is in bigger chunks and some argue is more tender, but the flavor is definitely not close. Also, it's important that it comes with lettuce, tomatoes and a little onion to balance everything out. Finally, You must get both the spicy red and white sauce together to make it all come together! The Ugly: The smell is addictive, so if you walk by, it's hard to resist, even if you've just eaten a nice meal somewhere else. We couldn't resist. Gotta hit the gym hard for the next few days!

And that line is no joke. You will wait. Plan accordingly. Here's my dilemma: every single time I eat here, my stomach lets me know about it later. Without fail. I've tried adjusting the hot sauce, going easy on portions... doesn't matter. Something about this food and my digestive system just don't agree. At this point I have to accept that it's probably not for me. So why do I keep coming back? Because at 2 AM after a late night, when everything else is closed and you're starving in Times Square, that platter of chicken and rice over white sauce smells like salvation. They're the only game in town at that hour, and honestly, in the moment, it hits. It's the next morning I regret it. If your stomach handles it better than mine, you'll probably love it. The food is tasty and the portions are huge for the price. I just wish I could enjoy it without paying for it twice.

From…read morethe moment I arrived, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and worked efficiently even during a busy rush. The service was quick without sacrificing quality, which is something I really appreciated. The food was absolutely outstanding. Everything was cooked fresh, well-seasoned, and packed with flavor. The portions were generous and offered great value for the price. The meat was tender and juicy, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the sauces tied everything together perfectly. Every bite tasted fresh and satisfying, and it's clear that a lot of care goes into preparing each meal. What stood out most was the consistency and quality of the food. It's not always easy to find a place that delivers both great taste and generous portions, but Adel's does exactly that. The ingredients tasted fresh, the presentation was appealing, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was also enjoyable. Despite being busy, the operation was organized and efficient, creating a positive experience from start to finish. Whether you're a local or just visiting the area, this is definitely a place worth trying. I highly recommend Adel's Famous Halal Food to anyone looking for delicious, flavorful halal cuisine. Excellent food, great service, generous portions, and a memorable dining experience. I will definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family. Five stars all the way!

It wasn't the best quality frankfurter, but somehow it worked with my indiscriminate palette. Flash forward a century or so, and this is the only Gray's Papaya left in the city. Since I'm a survivor, I thought it only appropriate to take Jamie to the original flagship location and order what else but the Recession Special. Sure enough, they still offer it for $7.50. It was $1.95 when I was a child, but it's still a good deal consisting of 2 Hot Dogs (Photo 10) and a Medium Papaya Drink (Photo 9). The franks were the same as I recall, nothing special but if you add onions and pay an extra 75 cents for the chili, it just works. The papaya drink is not a fruit juice but a puree mixed with sugar and milk. It actually complements the dog in a guilty pleasure kind of way. There was a line but it moved fast. Plenty of room at the red mini-counter, so I was able to relive my youthful dining dalliance with little effort.
