Three of us went to dinner here while visiting the Mission Inn area before Christmas. Though in downtown Riverside, it's a couple of blocks from the busy area, perfect for us, crowded but no wait to be seated. The food is excellent, I had the carne asada plate, my husband had the chili relleno and enchilada combo and our friend had the taco and enchilada combo. Overall we all enjoyed our dinners very much and will be looking forward to going back and trying some of the seafood dishes that they appear to specialize in. The service was great, very prompt. The only issue we had was the music....we enjoy the music but this was much too loud and there was no way to have dinner conversation. I enjoyed the mixta fajitas they were well priced for the amount of meat they had. The restaurant was clean and well lit with staff available when needed. Great customer service, we we go on Mother's Day at around 4 p.m. waited about 10 mins to get seated and our food came out quick. The mixed hot botana was amazing we shared it between 3 people. The server would regularly check on all the tables, except us. Never asked us for more refills on our drinks or chips. There was some parking available on the side streets and back lot, but it fills up pretty quick around dinner time. Location is great, perfect for dinner before a show at the Fox theater right down the street. The staff were all nice, attentive and had the drinks/food out in a jiffy. Overpriced and poor food quality. This was my first time ordering from here. I ordered the Filete al Chipotle over the phone and picked it up at the restaurant. I was not impressed with the portions. I paid almost $19 for this, just the plate, no drink, and this was definitely not worth the money. The rice was bland, beans were good even though I told them no cheese on the the beans, fish had a good taste, but the salad was mediocre. Coworker brought me here for lunch. It's a cute place at a corner of the street. The inside is decorated in red and it was pretty slow. They are low on staff so we waited awhile for our drinks and food when it was just us and another person in the restaurant. They serve you chips and salsa and bean dip while you wait which is nice. The bean dip is amazing! I was sad that they didn't have hard shell tacos so I got taquitos instead. I loved the salad that was on the top but the taquitos were a bit soggy from it. The beans were amazing. The rice was okay but not like how I'm use to. Price is a bit steep but they do have a sign stating that it's due to everything is going up in price. First time trying this place and it did not disappoint!! I really liked this mariscos spot because they have so many food options and drinks that other mariscos spots wouldn't. Everything was worth the price. I got the Mojarra Loca and it was really good but a bit spicy. My boyfriend got one of the Molcajetes and he devoured the whole thing! Even though we knew it would be packed, my mom wanted a specific type of fish soup and after calling to ask if they had it and them saying yes, we went straight there. The food was amazing, well portioned and reasonably priced. We enjoyed free mariachi music and although they had to tell us they needed the table, it was understandable why. I personally thought the food was okay. I got the green aguachiles which were not super flavorful in my opinion, they were very limony as the shrimp is cooked in lime however, not the issue. I feel like i had to add hot sauce or salt to add flavor not add on to the existing flavor. Someone in our party wanted a specific dish plater however the server kept pushing for a different plate that was a surprising upcharge. The initial plater was supposed to be around 20ish dollars give or take however, when the bill came one dish alone was 50 dollars. We tried to look for the dish in the menu and it was a custom order that the server decided to add. For a 50 dollar fish it did not come with no sides nor anything just the fish it's self. I personally would not be back as the food can easily be made way better at home and they seem to take advantage of customers without proper communication between servers and guests. read more
