This sushi was some of the best I've had, the freshness of the fish was outstanding. The different types of rolls were all so enticing it was so hard to pick just a few. The service was fantastic in this quaint little spot in Walnut Creek. I do wish they had a full bar but the drinks they did offer were fantastic. I will definitely be back here again to try more of their signature rolls.

The food was fresh and delicious and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. The omakase was tasty and featured premium fish imported straight from Japan. Service wasn't super fast because every seat was filled, but that's to be expected. My one little nit is that I wish they weren't playing AI generated videos on the tv. It's just an off-putting thing to have to watch while eating. Other than that, would recommend!

I went here on a Sunday afternoon and wasn't sure if it was too late since they were closing in less than an hour for dinner service. They welcomed us in and service was quick and staff were very friendly. We ordered the omakase, sake honey roll, lobster California roll and tempura. The food was quality was great! Fresh fish and the tempura was fried perfectly. I will say that a couple of the nigiri pieces were a bit stringly but other than that the fish was fresh. I would return when I am ever in the area.

Still our favorite sushi spot in the Bay. Excellent fresh seafood and the service is always so good (Rainbow is the best server). Their miso soup is very tasty with fresh mushrooms. And their mochi ice cream is a great way to finish the meal.

Cute small sushi place in the heard of Walnut Creek. Came in early on a Saturday afternoon, great service and great dishes that were fresh and had a lot of flavor. Our servers were very attentive to us, will definitely be back!!

Came in for dinner and was seated right away. The place is small and intimate and has about 10-12 tables. I can easily see this place filling up during meal hours. This place is a solid sushi spot. The omakase I got tasted fresh and I was able to fully appreciate each fish. And this is coming from someone who doesn't order raw sushi a lot. Presentation of each dish was also very nice. You can tell they're not rushing anything and they are giving each customer high quality foods. Service was fast, nice, helpful. 5 stars all around for me

Very interesting menu here! There's a lot of small bites that contain uni - something you don't see often in more suburban areas. And overall, the prices seemed quite reasonable for what you're getting as well! I ordered a Uni Tempura ($26) and Hokkaido Don ($35). The Uni Tempura included 4 pieces. Unfortunately, I found that once it was fried, the uni didn't taste like uni anymore :( The outside tasted like salt and vinegar chips. I guess uni just isn't meant to be fried, so this will just be a one time thing for me. The Hokkaido Don had a beautiful presentation, and I was pleasantly surprised to see uni and ikura and a good amount of fish for only $35! Definitely a great value meal. The uni wasn't the best quality though and had some bitter tastes to it, but I honestly wasn't expecting top tier uni at this price point, so I'm not complaining too much. Overall, I think this is a pretty solid sushi spot for this area!

really fresh fish and the taste is delicious. the store itself is right in downtown so a good place for sushi. service was also really nice and attentive. the only thing is it is a bit on the higher end but still nonetheless really tasty

Came here on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate my best friend's birthday. We got one omakase nigiri and one premium omakase nigiri to share so we could try a large variety of the raw fish. My favorites were the smoked pieces, as well as anything that was a belly since it's fattier and more melt in your mouth. We also got the daily special - mixed salmon poke bit with crispy rice and avocado. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced! Service was at a good pace and the waitress was really nice. I would recommend coming here if you're craving yummy sushi.

Went here for a late lunch on a Saturday. We got the Sake Honey and Ozu rolls as well as a bowl, and 1 miso soup. Good service. Super good and fresh sushi. Went a few weeks ago and I'm still thinking about this meal. This was high quality. Place felt clean enough. Bathroom was ok, kind of icky for me. But not a big deal. Located downtown, Lesher Center for the Arts Parking garage just across the street. Street parking also available. Would recommend. I'm definitely coming back.

I came here to celebrate a friends birthday as she recommended it. The restaurant is very small and they do not take reservations, but we walked in on a Friday evening and got seated immediately for a party of 5. We started with the agedashi tofu, which was solid, and I ordered the Sunshine Roll and O-Toro Nigiri for my main. While the quality of the fish was good, the portions were very small for the price--$19 for a six-piece roll and $17 for two tiny pieces of toro--leaving me both hungry and disappointed as I've been to other local sushi spots with the same quality fish, better portions. I might return to try the omakase, but I wouldn't recommend this place for rolls given the poor value.

Fresh fish, great service , and lowkey ambiance. Very clean as well. Food comes out fast

We have wanted to try Toyosu for awhile, but with only two (usually full) outside tables it took a rainy day for us to stop by. Food wise, I ordered the Farmers Market and an Avocado roll and both were amazing! The Farmers Market in particular tasted so bright while still being lightly savory. Their hot tea and Choya soda drink (lemon) were also fantastic, though our appetizer, the mixed tempura, wasn't a good fit. The vegetable choices were mostly nightshades, such as eggplant, pepper, and sweet potato, and didn't work for me as I'm nightshade free. The service was prompt and friendly and we enjoyed our meal. All in all, we'll definitely be returning!

It worked as of last Saturday 01/21 with a real person answering.

No, it is first come first serve

Is the original chef back yet? Or is it still the new one?

I saw that you have outdoor seating. Is any portion of it heated?

They do have a few heat lamps outside. Last time I went was a little over a month ago though

Do they allow dogs at outside tables?

We absolutely allow dogs at our tables outside. We love to see all our friends! If you schedule reservation, please request an outside table. We hope to see you soon!

Haven't seen this, their prices are reasonable, their lunch hours the portions are still plentiful while being ~$5 or so off of the dinner prices for the entrees. Getting lunch from them is definitely a good deal!

I know that a lot of people reading this review are looking for a comparison between the restaurants. Usually, others are split on this opinion when I mention it. So here's my why. The seafood menu selection is the same as most crab boil spots. I ordered the deveined/headless shrimp on my last visit. The spicy sauce was def spicy! Shrimp was cooked perfectly, not overcooked like I've had at other places. They give a generous portion of sauce, which is necessary to pour over some white rice! The appetizer selection at Cajun Crack'n is elite! The fried oysters are my favorite! I've also had the wings, fried mozzarella and Crawfish fried rice. All delicious choices! The combo had a nice variety with shrimp, crab legs, sausage, corn, potatoes, and egg, and everything was cooked well. The house special sauce was buttery, garlicky, flavorful, and the medium spice level had just the right amount of heat without being too much. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the sauce was a little on the salty side. It was still delicious, but after a while the saltiness started to stand out. If they dialed that back just a bit, it'd be even better. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Good portions, great flavor, and a solid spot when you're craving a seafood boil.

We opted to not sit outside, rather inside right by the exterior seating to still get the vibes but also some AC. I love places like Lafayette where all the businesses support each other and help each other grow. Their brews on tap are mostly all local, and we grabbed some Pilsners sourced from Lafayette's new brewery, Western Flyer. So fresh and crisp. Can't wait to also check that spot out. Food-wise, we came in mid-afternoon and grabbed a Kale Pancetta salad (they pre-split the salad for us on two plates which was so nice), and for the mains, we both grabbed the Tuna Melt with fries. The salad was delicious. I'm def a tuna melt girly, and I loved the addition of the ciabatta (?) as the bread option, so fresh as well. This tuna melt comes with grapes fyi, and a few other elements mixed in. I absolutely loved it, just sharing though as I know how some tuna stans like their tuna :) This spot is clean, spacious, and perfectly situated in walking distance downtown. Would love to come back for brunch with a group of friends, or even again during the upcoming Lafayette Art & Wine Fest. Food is good, service is quick and friendly, and vibes are right. Metered parking located across the street.

For food, we ordered the Ceviche Limon, which had a combination of bright and citrusy (a lil spicy) sauce with fresh raw red snapper, squid, and shrimp with fried, crispy calamari tentacles. The combination of textures and flavors was delicious. We did opt in for the taro chips, which was the perfect vessel for the ceviche. We also ordered the Piqueo sampler, which had their chicharron de pollo, beef empanadas, platano frito, and yuca fries. Everything was delicious, though I was not super wowed by the empanadas and the yuca fries were a bit stale. The star of the show was the Fiesta de Carnes, which was their all meat platter with ribeye steak, grilled chicken, and pork belly with roasted potatoes chimichurri and aji amarillo. Ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the grilled chicken was quite literally the juiciest chicken I've had in a while. However, the pork belly was not crisp enough for both me and the amount of fat that the pork belly had. Had it been crispier this dish would have been 10/10. The aji amarillo was so good, not as spicy as other versions I've had before. I think it is worth the $2 they charge for extra. It was simplistic in decor but still fitting for the Peruvian cuisine the place executes well. Will be coming back to try pollo a la brasa or the arroz con mariscos.
