This place is consistently amazing all around! Fresh, diverse menu. Super friendly and attentive staff. Reasonable prices and cute ambience, very "where everybody knows your name" vibe! A favorite local spot!

Iced Tea, Godzilla Roll

This place has got to be the best sushi place in the area. The nigiri is exceptional, would recommend the Hamachi. The Godzilla rolls were also great and exceeded my expectations. Would recommend Hamachi and Philadelphia rolls with iced tea for an awesome lunch. The servers are also very nice. I love eating in when I can especially during this time of year ( World Cup ). Getting to eat good sushi and watching the game has got to be one of the best dining experiences Ive had. 100% would recommend this place to literally anyone.

Okini sushi is always fresh and delish! Tuna sashimi that melts in your mouth. We warmed up with bowls of miso soup followed by the super star roll (our fav! Spicy tuna and more tuna on top with a vinegar garlic sauce ) and ichiban roll (soft shell crab and spicy tuna). Service was fast! And they make a good martini!

What a gem! Seated within 4 minutes of arrival. Seated and given menues from a friendly staff member. Ordered a few items. Fried Oysters 5 pcs. Breaded & fried. Super fresh and yummy. Breading was crispy with not much seasoning. Which is great, I wanna taste the oyster! Honey Bunny Roll was so delicious! So many flavors! Tender and fresh. Salmon, shrimp tempura, hamachi, spicy crabmeat and some type of crawfish salad topped the roll. Friends had the Bay Bridge Roll and mentioned it tasted fresh and seafood was tender. Philadelphia roll & Godzilla roll. All rolls were a beautiful presentation of artwork! Ambiance was nice. Granted it was a Friday night and it was crowded & loud. No biggie for us. Prices align with other local sushi joints. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We were able to split the bill between 2 cards. I will definitely be bringing my other sushi loving friends here!

Yummy sushi and great service! Came in on a saturday afternoon and honestly wasn't too busy but service was fast and friendly :) I had a hard time picking out what rolls to try out but definitely wasn't disappointed with the picks! The specialty rolls are a good portion size and also very tasty! The inside was nice and clean. I love how it felt like you could drop by and grab a quick bite, then leave satisfied. Very great place to drop by for sushi if you're by pleasant hill/martinez/concord. Parking is great and even though it's in a plaza it doesn't seem like it gets overly crowded or too busy.

California roll for $5 (8 pieces per order I have 2 orders here) during happy hour and a small sashimi rice bowl

We've been visiting this place since they first opened in their original location back in 2016, and we've stayed loyal customers even after they moved to the new spot. There are a lot of Japanese restaurants in the area, but one thing really sets this place apart: the sushi rice. The fish is always fresh, but what makes the biggest difference is the rice. Not too hard, too vinegary, too hot, or too cold if you know what I mean -- perfect texture and balance. The service is consistently good, and they offer a happy hour menu every day that's very affordable for a Japanese restaurant. We'll keep coming back again and again.

Okini Sushi has been my go to happy hour spot for a while now. Literally 4 rolls and an app for 40 bucks where else in the world can you get that kinda deal. The owners and staff are always nice, fun and will remember you. The restaurant is very typical in many ways but also has a fun little thing going on. I like sitting at the bar watching them make my sushi. 10/10

The restaurant is in a small strip mall setting. It's the real deal when it comes to Japanese food especially the quality of the sushi . The service was what should be expected. Prices are very reasonable. The decor is nothing fancy but that's ok because the food delivers! Will be going back many more times.

Previous visits have been above average. Today was well below average. Had sashimi that was tasteless. All four types of fish were not good.

Tucked away in Walnut Creek, this is the perfect intimate, casual sushi spot for a relaxed date night or dinner with friends. The welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and fresh ingredients made for an outstanding dining experience. We started with the shrimp and vegetable tempura, which arrived hot, crispy, and perfectly light without feeling greasy. It was the ideal appetizer to share. For our rolls, we ordered the Volcano Roll, featuring spicy tuna and shrimp tempura, and the Arizona Roll, made with crab and topped with seared albacore. Both were beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The freshness of the fish was the star of the meal. The seared albacore on the Arizona Roll practically melted in your mouth, and every bite had a clean, fresh taste that showcased the quality of the ingredients. The Volcano Roll delivered a delicious combination of textures and flavors, with just the right amount of spice and crunch. Nothing was overpowering--you could truly taste the freshness of the fish and the care that went into each roll. The restaurant was spotless, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout our visit. Service was prompt without feeling rushed, allowing us to enjoy the meal at a comfortable pace. Fresh fish, crispy tempura, creative rolls, and exceptional hospitality make this a standout sushi destination in Walnut Creek. The only downside? Once you finish your last piece, you'll wish you had ordered more. We enjoyed our experience so much that we're already looking forward to coming back to try the omakase, which will definitely be on our next order.

I especially loved their salmon in each of the bowls. It tasted nice and fatty and creamy. I loved the other fish as well though! I also felt that they did their tamago very well. Typically when I get tamago I feel like other restaurants don't get the texture correct and it can come out overcooked/rubbery so I don't end up finishing it. The tamago here was the perfect texture and the flavor/sauce made it really delicious. The texture of the rice in each bowl was great as well. The servers were both really nice and attentive throughout our meal which is always appreciated. I highly recommend sitting outside on the patio if the weather is good! They don't really serve the classic sushi rolls we were expecting. We mainly went because my daughter really wanted sushi, but unfortunately she didn't like the options they had and barely ate anything. I also found the portions on the small side. The prices themselves weren't unreasonable, but they felt a bit high for the amount of food you get. That said, I personally enjoyed what I ordered. It just wasn't the kind of sushi experience I was expecting. I guess this visit taught us that next time we'll check the menu first instead of choosing a sushi place based only on the ratings.

The ambience of this place was very warm and inviting and I can see that this restaurant has a very special place in the pleasant hill community from all the pictures they've shared with their customers. It checks out, because everything is so delicious and everyone who works here is so kind. On top of checking on us multiple times to see if everything was fine, they also gave us multiple free appetizers as I'm assuming business was a bit slow and we went near closing. We even asked for extra ginger to go, forgot about it, and one of the workers tried to give it to us still while we were already getting into our car... Their kindness went a long way and I am hopeful this restaurant prospers in lots of business! They more than deserve it!
