Beef sukiyaki! One of the few remaining places that still has it on the menu..and it's RAD

Huge portions, very fresh tasting, and always delicious! Super nice staff and owner, too Here for a Birthday dinner, but try to make it here as often as possible!

Great portions and excellent quality and service. Salmon was fresh and plentiful as well as the chicken. Fish on the sushi was fresh and delicious.

We came here on a weekday evening...craving some sushi and this seems to be a popular place! We ordered a few sushi rolls and they seemed pretty fresh overall. They have great portions. I liked the sesame dressing on the salad, even though it was probably very similar to what you might get at other places. The miso soup was also nice and comforting. We also ordered one of their specials, the mixed vegetable karaage. It was not necessarily what we expected, which was maybe something like small pieces of vegetables deep fried, but it ended up being shredded veggies like carrot that were deep fried into pancakes (3 pieces). It wasn't my favorite dish. We did flag down the waitress who was presumably the owner, as well, for a bowl/dish that had some old food on it. She apologized and brought a new one out. She then surprised us with a kimbap, which was not expected but very much appreciated. At that point we had eaten so much, we had to take it to go. Parking lot is on the smaller side. The outside of the restaurant made it seemed like the inside was small, but it was pretty spacious inside. Overall, it was a positive experience here, and I'd recommend a try!

I came here for lunch again. Beware, they keep increasing their prices. Ugh! I was a little annoyed when the staff said I couldn't bring my bottled water. There's no signs that states NO Outside drinks. Their water is not filtered and tastes terrible. They need to install a water filter. I ordered their lunch special Bento box. It was very good and big portions. I ordered the salmon with tempura Bento box and it was very good.

Still continues to be a decent option with consistent food, and good service when they aren't slammed. However when they are slammed, service borders on so irritating you want to complain, and understanding that they're understaffed. Prices are ever increasing, but the tempura is still crunchy, and the fish is still fresh. But the beef teriyaki is always tough and the water never has ice. Miso soup and Salad are great. Overall this is still a go-to when I visit.

The sushi here is great! We got the crunchy roll, rainbow, and crazy roll. Big portions and good ratio to rice. Rice here is seasoned well and great texture. Fish tasted fresh and buttery. One of the best rainbow rolls Ive had in the area. It had lots of different fish and was all great quality. The crunchy roll had great crunchy texture and not hard or dry. Service here is great. We were welcomed at the door right away and got seated immediately for lunch on a Saturday. Although there was one server doing it all, she did the best she could to be on her feet and be attentive. We also received complimentary got miso soup and salad. Food came about 10min after we ordered. The ambiance of this place is also great. We walked in and noticed light pop music playing which we enjoyed. Also the decor was also well japanese themed. The place also felt homely and family oriented. The restaurant was in a strip mall and we had no problem finding parking in the lot. Would recommend for a quick family lunch. Definitely coming back!

This place is reasonable, quick during not so busy dinner time. We have been here many times during dinner and it does get busy. Sometimes the service is slower during peak time but otherwise they do get your stuff in less than 10 mins. We usually order volcano toll, caliente and spider rolls. The rolls never disappoint. Sometimes you can see that the presentation gets clunky during rush hours. But atleast they make everything fresh. It's not a fancy place and sometimes I just show up in my pjs. The ambiance is relaxed and no dress code needed.

2nd time here because our first experience was amazing. The location is a bit random and tucked away, but it's worth checking out if you're in the mood for tasty sushi rolls--which are large in size compared to other sushi restaurants. Food options: Bento boxes, tasty appetizers. I recommend trying their sushi rolls. The Brother's Roll and Concord Roll are delicious. Taste: 8.5/10 Service: 10/10 -- they're attentive and respectful. Vibes: 10/10 -- I walk in and get a good feeling every time. Like "I know I'm about to walk out happy"... and it's true. We'll be coming back :)

Great little place in an alley near Costco. The Bento Box offerings and the sushi boats are monstrous. They also are really nice to the kids as well and have great service. My kids like all the options and the place is affordable. I would say the sushi is pretty good quality for what you pay for. The alley and location is not the greatest, so be careful when parking around there. But overall i would recommend and focus on the bento and sushi boats.

Fried roll - like a California roll with shrimp tempura
    Rita W.

5 stars for the size of their rolls, especially their specialty ones. They are nearly twice as big as standard rolls around the area, more stuffed, better bang for your buck. The kids enjoyed their food here as well and asked that we become regulars, which is a great sign! We (party of 4) got here between 12:30pm and 1pm on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, and we were seated at one of the booths. We were given miso soups (yay, love free miso soup!), waters, and menus. There was also a specials menu on the table where the kids decided to get the tonkotsu ramen with California roll combo. We didn't see ramen on the main menu and weren't sure if we can order it separately as the daughter doesn't like rolls, but the son said he'll take her California rolls as well. What we ordered- The ramen with roll- wow, huge portions! Noodles were a bit soggy, but otherwise they really enjoyed it. They were a bit disappointed that they couldn't finish the whole bowl along with their sides. The California roll was really big and stuffed with the crab (imitation?) meat and such. Chicken karaage- the daughter said it was really good. Portion for this was huge too and she ended up taking a few pieces to go. Super rainbow roll- all for me! It's like a rainbow roll, but super. They add a shrimp tempura inside there and top the roll with the standard stuff plus some unagi and more. So good. About twice as wide as other rolls I've seen, with bigger cuts of the fish on top. Futomaki roll- decided I needed some veggies so I got another roll not knowing how big the portions here would be. The futomaki roll is one of their more standard roll, and it was pretty good and stuffed with everything as advertised, but a lil something was lacking, but can't quite tell what that is. Lunch bento with chicken teriyaki and gyoza- I absolutely love how they put practically a whole gyoza appetizer here instead of just 2 or 3 pieces like most other places with lunch bento. Amazing. All was pretty standard, but good. One of the more "normal" portions here, but still filling. Deep fried roll with shrimp tempura- like a California roll with shrimp tempura added in, but deep fried and covered with special sauce. We didn't order, but were given this to try, and it wouldn't be something we'd order and the husband has shellfish allergy, so practically all for me. I left feeling stuffed!!! Good value. Spent over $100, but well worth it. Keep up those portions, and we'll be back maybe more often than we'd like!

How disenchanted was our last outing.Service and quality has slipped...I understand they are understaffed and that's unfortunate for the customers..I have been coming here for 22 years and it's definitely different . The prices are expensive and received small portions... I was just here with my family for a special occasion.I don't think I'll be coming back.

We come here whenever we are in the area. The tonkatsu and sushi is really good and the service is really good. The restaurant is clean and not overly crowded so it's comfortable.

Tonight's experience, Sushi Momoyama made us all quite sad.
    Jasmine S.

We have been coming here for over 20 years. I have always praised Momoyama as my fav sushi place in the East bay. I have watched them grow from a tiny hole in the wall to a bigger brighter restaurant. I love the friendly head sushi chef. Sadly, things have changed in the past year or so. They seem to be chronically understaffed with a max of only two servers, regardless of how busy they are. They often forget to take our order, bring us out the wrong rolls, or forget about us altogether. Tonight, I'm leaving this review after sitting for over 45 minutes for food, only to be brought the bill and no food. My other complaint is that the rolls have gone down in quality. For some reason they all taste the same and lack the freshness they once had. It breaks my heart to leave this negative review, but unfortunately it might be time for us to move on.

Great food and service, It was our first time and had a great experience. The place was really nice, Highly recommend to check out.

Do you still do all you can eat ? If so how much is it

They are not an "All You Can Eat" place. Order from menu.

Hi Do you take reservations for 8-10?

    They do not take reservations.

    Do they have AYCE?

    They do not.

Does anyone know the name of the complimentary roll? & if they have it on the menu?

In my experience they're no longer giving it out any more.

Are they now offering indoor dining?

No. July 1st indoor dining has been postponed.

Is this place an actual sushi buffet. Where you pay once and can order however many you want?

No it's not a buffet but they do provide a free random extra roll (varies in size) on the house to show gratitude. Honestly best place for sushi!

Would they accommodate special requests like can they make sushi without the rice?

Yes, from my experience, when you ask for a custom roll they have accommodated and it tastes delicious.

So yesterday my brother and I finally tried the dinner menu at Fuji Sushi Buffet for the very first…read moretime. We'd always only gone for their lunch menu before, but we were really craving sushi and sashimi last night, so we thought Fuji would be the best place to go since we were starving!! We noticed that the dinner menu wasn't that much different from the lunch. Seems like only a handful of items are added, so we still made sure to try some of those dinner-only items. One was the Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab, and it was absolutely delicious! The whole thing was edible, so there was no need to de-shell the crab, and the tempura batter was nice and crispy. The crab also didn't taste fishy at all. I also liked that they served it with a tempura dipping sauce on the side because it helped refresh the dish and cut back on the greasiness a little bit. Another thing I was really super curious to try was the Smoked Salmon. I did order it, but I think the guy working at the sashimi section misheard me and ended up giving me regular salmon instead - boo! I wanted to go back and order more later, but by that point I was already really full, so I decided not to be greedy. Other than that, everything else was pretty much the same as the lunch offerings. In general, my brother and I really like this place. It's definitely our go-to spot when it comes to all you can eat sushi and sashimi. My brother and I love getting a huge plate of sashimi with a variety of fish like Salmon, Yellowtail, Mackerel, and even Unagi too. I also love how quick the service was, and they impose no limitation on how many times we can order or how many items we can get each round. We just feel really comfortable eating here. We'll definitely come back again in the near future!

Honestly this is best ayce sushi I've been too and find myself coming back often! I love sushi and…read morehave been to a number of other ayce sushi places and tbh, none of them compare to Fuji when it comes to both price, quality, and consistency. For the price, it's very affordable as you pay a flat price and can order everything off the menu. There's no extra charge for sashimi either which I found that all other ayce sushi places do and even with the extra charge for sashimi at other places, their sashimi is often small and the quality is low or just poorly prepared. At Fuji, the sashimi is always consistent and they provide great cuts and variety of sashimi like salmon, eel, tuna, mackerel, and more. I love that it's already included as part of the price and there's no hidden or extra fees. The rolls taste great as well! You can easily grab the rolls from the shelf where they put the freshly made rolls or if you don't see the rolls you want, you can ask the sushi chefs to make them. Personally, I find it more worth it to ask the sushi chefs for sashimi, hand rolls, and the aburi (seared) salmon which is my personal favorite here lol. For the appetizers, you need to order with the waiters but luckily they're very quick and attentive! The fried oyster is really good. The space itself is pretty large and you'll either be seated at a table or at the bar but if you're able to choose, definitely go with the bar! The bar includes the rotating conveyor belt which often has salmon nigiri and other small dishes which makes it more convenient to sit there. This review has been long overdue tbh but I've been here enough times and the quality, consistency, variety, and price is what makes me keep coming back!

Then asked the sushi chef if they had little to go containers for soy sauce and if I could get one of those. He said yes and instructed the host to fill one for me. She did, came out and handed it to me with what I interpreted was an annoyed look. I said thank you and left. Fascinating to say the least. I guess I was asking for too much. Sushi was decent. They were always chatting with our kiddos and other kiddos at other tables. The amount of food they give you is crazy. The rolls were humongous! We were too hungry and I forgot to snap a photo, but they were HUGE. Our 2 item bento boxes were also XL. There was so much food! It was actually a little overwhelming. 1 piece of sashimi is actually 2 or 3 (they slice it really thick---which I'm actually not a fan of). The tempura was delicious. They were big pieces and I felt like they were prepared and fried well. Not overly greasy and the batter was nice. The fish seemed fresh, but I really don't care for thick slices of sashimi. Overall, everything was good, but the fish threw me off. I feel like you lack finesse when you do thick pieces of fish. The rolls also had so much rice. If you value quantity over quality, definitely recommend. If you value quality over quantity, I'd maybe skip.
