Sister #2 has Burger and Fries. She had nothing left, said it was quite tasty.

Service was great , I found out about the sour dough bread, it was so hot and delicious. Even the butter was good. My salmon was cooked perfectly, my rice and black beans were the perfect side dish. Ended the evening with "The Powerful Stuff". If you have not had that dessert , it's worth a try. I wouldn't recommend eating it alone, it was a chunky portion. If you like all the ingredients it is a a delicate balance. The Ambience is always at the right balance, the slightly dim lighting helps you to feel cozy but professional.

Had a girls lunch here to discuss some upcoming party planning. I was not very hungry and wanted something light so I decided on the shrimp tacos and let me tell you... Fabuliso, ambrosial, umami... I have not been a huge fan of shrimp tacos in the past however, I feel like I have been born again. And let's talk margarita... The Elite Margarita was perfectly handcrafted. James was our server and he was absolutely precious, professional and attentive. Just the kind of professionalism you would expect from J. Alexander's!

9-2-2024 We all had another late night heading back home and always to our surprise, MOST places are closed by 9! This place stays open til 10! Thank God! It was 5 of us, got there around 9:20pm. Our waitress was Maddie. What a beautiful and pleasant young lady!! Very attentive too! I will request her next time we stop by! We ALL love the atmosphere at this restaurant! The food??? wow! Exceptional!! Everything is just superb! Even though we got there late, close to closing, we are never pressured to eat and leave so they can close! That means a lot! We truly enjoyed it and we will return when we are out of town again! Thank you all from our waitress to the cooks! Excellent job!! Kudos!

J Alexander's was exactly what I needed today! My server, Jamie was heaven sent and the absolute best. I always enjoy the welcoming atmosphere. But tonight it was truly the service and food that made our day. My hubby ordered the prime rib. I didn't even have to chew it and it was so flavorful. This is coming from someone who likes their steak "cooked." I ordered the Steak Maui and the taste was impeccable. It was perfectly prepared. I can't forget the horseradish cream sauce. I could drink it!!!! So glad we decided to come out and dine. We will be back.

My family and I came on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated immediately. Our waiter was super friendly but kept forgetting our drinks. We ordered the Mac and Cheese but the waiter brought fries. When we addressed this, he brought us the Mac and cheese but still charged us for the fries. The prime rib is always good- I've been here a few times. It's very soft and tender and is good on its own. No sauce or salt is needed. The crab dip was very rich, cheesy and had huge chucks on crab meat! There's plenty of parking. The ambience is very classy, though most were dressed casually. This is located next to the mall, so convenient after a day of shopping.

Yes 8oz (prime rib sandwich), 12oz and 16oz. Also can add additional ounces for 2.50 per ounce. So theoretically you can order any size prime rib 8oz and up at any time of the day

We have been twice, both times at the location on Jefferson Hwy…read more I always get the ribeye because I actually like flavor. The first time my ribeye was just as good as any steak I have anywhere, maybe except for one or two other restaurants. The second time while good, not did not touch the first experience. The butter served with the steak browned, maybe too much, and overwhelmed the steak. Both time my Wife ordered the filet on both occasions. The first time the steak was pretty good but this past time it was overcooked and the char on the outside was bordering on burnt. During our most recent visit I started with the wedge and my Wife the sensation salad. My wedge was good but not in the top 3 best I have ever had. My Wife was not pleased with the sensation salad at all. The sensation was very small and not enough dressing. We also ordered the Mac & Cheese and Potatoes Au Gratin. The Mac & Cheese was very good. It taste and looked a lot better than most of the pictures posted on Yelp. The potatoes were okay, not great but not horrible. The complimentary bread was good however, not close to even being top 10. We finished our meal with the New York Cheesecake. It was okay as well, you can find just as good of cheesecake at a lot of places.

The food was first class; fresh made, great flavors and seasonings, and cooked properly. Classy decor with, white table cloth (without white paper caps), tastefully decorated, and elegant. The deserts were very good, but hard to think you can eat any more after the feeling that you want to pick the plate at the end if the dinner. BUT, the deserts vanish from the table like magic. This is a place fore special occasions and any time you want a great meal.

The first food I got was the complimentary bread. It was nicely warm and the butter was super tasty. Then for my main entree I got the 12oz filet mignon. I would say cooked it was about 7oz ish. The crust was delectable and it was super juicy and had a hint of movie theatre popcorn. That's a compliment btw. Filet - 9.1/10 For my side I got the Lobster 3 Cheese Mac. It was soooo good like top 10 mac and cheese ive had. Maybe im exaggerating but I dont eat mac and cheese too often so it was definitely a refresher. The lobster was good too but there wasnt an awful lot, so i would consider paying $8 less for just the mac. Then dessert. I got the creme brulee, it was okay. Not the best creme brulee and if I was coming looking forward to it, I wouldnt be too satisfied. It was good though dont get me wrong, just not top tier creme brulee. Id lean towards getting the other options. I also tried the Banana Foster Pudding, it was warm and sweet with hints of banana but also cold from the ice cream. Definitely better than the creme brulee, so if youre between the two id get the pudding. Last thing, If you say you're celebrating something, theyll give you a complimentary dessert. It was like a chocolate cake with ice cream and raspberries. It was good, just a basic dessert but it was free so cant complain. The service was okay, thats the low point of the review and why its a 4 star and not a 5 star. It seemed like they didnt have too many waiters, but the few they had were working hard. BONUS: Alot of people seem to complain about the wait time. Which if theyre talking about wait time with the waiter, I understand. But the wait time from ordering 4 entrees and 2 sides was 27 minutes, which isnt bad and it goes by quick. The 4 desserts took like 12-15 minutes i think. Overall, im pleased with my visit. It was a good way to fulfill my cravings that I had. Juicy steak, cheesy mac, and good dessert. Nice environment, solid service, yummy food. Overall rating probably like a 84/100. I had been craving a good steak and they were opened on a Sunday at 3 pm. The service was just okay. We easily waited over an hour for our food, I honestly think it was a bit longer than that. This was the worst thing about the visit as well as the very expensive pricing so I will give it a 3/5 stars. When I come to a steakhouse, I expect the service to be amazing but waiting over an hour was ridiculous. There was also only one other table with people, the restaurant was empty for the most part. I loved my steak. I got the Cajun ribeye steak and as sides I got the lobster Mac and cheese and creamed spinach. The prices were very high. Just my steak was $69. Most of the sides were overpriced and the lobster Mac and cheese for $21 only had three small pieces of lobster. The creamed spinach was good. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and relaxed and very fancy. The vibe was very intimate and perfect for a celebration.

We were in Baton Rouge helping our grandson move into his dorm as an incoming freshman at LSU, and Parrain's kept coming up in our searches and reviews. We decided to give it a try, and I'm SO glad we did! We visited on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., and when I tell you EVERYBODY and their family was there... I mean everybody! The parking lot was packed. There is plenty of parking, but there were so many people that we still had to hunt for a spot. Thankfully, we found one under a shade tree because it was HOT! When we walked up, we fully expected a long wait. There is plenty of outdoor seating for people waiting, and I also noticed they have both steps and an accessibility ramp leading to the entrance. My daughter and I sat down while my husband stood in line to put our name on the list. About five minutes later, he was waving for us to come inside! Apparently, many of the people waiting were large groups and families coming from church, but since there were only three of us, they were able to seat us almost immediately. HUGE plus! Once inside, it was BUSY, BUSY, BUSY. It took our server a little while to initially get to us, but considering how packed the restaurant was, it really wasn't bad at all. Our waitress was very nice, and I was actually impressed with how quickly our food came out. Now let's talk about the FOOD!! We first ordered the onion rings for an appetizer... super delicious I ordered the fried shrimp platter, and those shrimp were fried to PERFECTION! Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The meal also came with salad, fries, hush puppies, and a side. The hush puppies were SO GOOD! They are shaped almost like little donut holes... crispy on the outside and soft and savory on the inside. Delicious! For my side, I chose the fresh green beans instead of the dirty rice. Unfortunately, those were the one thing I didn't enjoy. They didn't have much flavor to me and seemed a little undercooked. Next time, I'll definitely choose another side. My husband ordered the fried catfish platter with dirty rice, coleslaw, and fries, and he loved everything. I tasted his coleslaw, and OH MY GOODNESS! Get the coleslaw! It was different from any coleslaw I've had before. It has whole peanuts in it, which sounds unusual, but somehow it WORKS! The peanuts add this wonderful crunch and flavor. It was SO good. And the French fries!! I've never seen fries cut this way before. They're almost shaped like little Scoop Fritos, with a crispy outside and soft potato inside. So unique and really good! My daughter ordered the catfish strips and fries from the kids' menu. These weren't processed little nuggets... they were actual pieces of catfish cut into strips, and she really enjoyed them. She also ordered the crab fingers, and those were another 10/10! They were incredibly well-seasoned with a little spice and tons of flavor. I tasted one and wanted MORE! I'm watching my sodium intake, so I behaved myself, but they were absolutely delicious. Overall, Parrain's was a 10/10 for us. The only thing I wouldn't personally order again would be the green beans. Everything else, from the shrimp and catfish to those amazing hush puppies, unique fries, crab fingers, and especially that coleslaw, was DELICIOUS. Yes, it was crowded and lively, but we still received really good service and didn't have to wait nearly as long as we expected. With our grandson now attending LSU, we'll be making plenty of trips back to Baton Rouge, and Parrain's has officially made our list of places we will be visiting again!

They are WELL known for their chargrilled oysters and have a great happy hour. Their Andouille Crusted Fresh Fish is one of the best bites in Baton Rouge hands down. Their parking lot situation is a mess; WAY too small, and the entrance is close to another business' entrance which can be confusing. Great service, little loud though. It's a small complaint, but restaurants that let used drink glasses pile up on the table is a little annoying.

One of them simply said, "Let's get a steak." We were casually dressed and didn't feel the Ruth's Chris fuss or expense, so we headed to LongHorn Steakhouse on Bluebonnet--one of our comfortable go-to spots we hadn't visited in a while. This time we were especially glad we did. Arriving you could smell the ambrosia of meats cooking on the grill in the parking lot as you exit your vehicle. A nice, constant crowd and steady flow of patrons that were handled with real care by the two young hostesses up front, with a manager quietly floating about keeping everything running smoothly. While we waited, the bartender Kaitlynn G. handled her station with ease and a smile. Once we were seated, our waiter William S. was truly on top of it--attentive, courteous, and efficient in a way that made us feel well taken care of. The food came out hot, correct, and just what we needed. It was a very pleasant experience overall. Sitting there with the boys, enjoying a good steak without any fuss, felt easy and right. I hate to say that, but it's really the truth. I love their Caesar salad, the tonion appetizer and their baked sweet potato. The issue that I have is that I often have to send my steak back! I hate to do it, but I'm not going to eat the steak that's raw when I order it mid well or medium. A couple of times when they told me that they were going to take my steak back and then remake my steak -for sure they just popped it under the broiler for a few minutes and that does not give you the same flavor or the same experience as a steak right off of the grill. I think that they believe customers won't notice, but I happen to be a discerning customer who will! When I order a filet I really want to think that it will come out right. This has happened to me so many times now that I have stopped ordering steak when I go to Longhorn. I just order other things instead. I've also stopped going for dinner and I only go for lunch. Sadly, I know that I'm not the only person that feels this way about this location...
