We have been twice, both times at the location on Jefferson Hwy. I always get the ribeye because I actually like flavor. The first time my ribeye was just as good as any steak I have anywhere, maybe except for one or two other restaurants. The second time while good, not did not touch the first experience. The butter served with the steak browned, maybe too much, and overwhelmed the steak. Both time my Wife ordered the filet on both occasions. The first time the steak was pretty good but this past time it was overcooked and the char on the outside was bordering on burnt. During our most recent visit I started with the wedge and my Wife the sensation salad. My wedge was good but not in the top 3 best I have ever had. My Wife was not pleased with the sensation salad at all. The sensation was very small and not enough dressing. We also ordered the Mac & Cheese and Potatoes Au Gratin. The Mac & Cheese was very good. It taste and looked a lot better than most of the pictures posted on Yelp. The potatoes were okay, not great but not horrible. The complimentary bread was good however, not close to even being top 10. We finished our meal with the New York Cheesecake. First class service all around. The entire staff pulls together, and no one is above picking up dirty plates or bringing a replacement fork. The food was first class; fresh made, great flavors and seasonings, and cooked properly. Classy decor with, white table cloth (without white paper caps), tastefully decorated, and elegant. The deserts were very good, but hard to think you can eat any more after the feeling that you want to pick the plate at the end if the dinner. BUT, the deserts vanish from the table like magic. Scallop Masion We returned to Baton Rouge after moving away two years ago. We had to stop at Stabs for the Scallops. Been craving them since we moved. When the scallops arrived we were so disappointed. The scallops used were little nugget (Bay Scallops) and not the soft, sweet Sea Scallops. Changing to this type of scallop has ruined the dish for us. Hopefully they will change back, but until they do, I wouldn't waste my money on them again. Just not the same. There's something to be said when the manager sends a text being very apologetic about the experience. Leo did reach out, trying to make this right... I absolutely give props to that! This used to be my place to go. Went to celebrate my birthday dinner on 11.15.2025. Took 45 minutes for them to bring us bread. Once we ordered, took an hour to bring us our food. Once they brought, it was cold! These are actual times! Waiters and waitresses barely came to service our table of 8. Never again. Really loved this place. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary last night. It was our first time at Stab's. It was a rough start with our reservation being at 8 but not being sat until 8:30 due to the restaurant being overbooked. Ooh and the parking, lawd! Anyways our server Brandon turned the night around for us. We were greeted promptly and his persona was so great. He gave a good recommendation on a red blend for me and the presentation for the smoked old fashioned was impressive. He checked on us often but not intrusive at all. Our food was so good!! We had the broiled oysters as our appetizer and a Ceasar salad (I'll pass on the salad next time). For our main courses we did the filet and the lamb. Tried the lunch menu: Chicken Paillard, perfectly pounded till it resembled paneed veal without breading, with aromatic greens topped with their signature Green Goddess sauce, and finished with Stab's le Chocolat Martini created by one of their qualified bartender mixologists. I took my wife here for our 4th anniversary for both of our second times visiting Stab's. The ambiance was good, I really enjoyed the choice of music on Friday night. The server, Olivia, was fantastic and the steak was absolutely incredible. I got the filet mignon (cooked perfect and to die for with the garlic butter topping) and brussels sprouts and they were a little bit firm for my liking but the glaze on them made them amazing. My wife got the filet mignon and Mac and cheese and she loved it. I've been wanting to visit this restaurant for some time. I must say it was well worth the wait! We went to celebrate our anniversary. The service was good, the food was exceptional and the atmosphere was quite pleasant. We ordered the scallops maison, a ribeye, filet and bread pudding. Our sides were asparagus and mac and cheese. We received a complimentary dessert and two flutes of champagne. We also had a watermelon lemon drop, the knock off and a smoky old fashion, which could've been a little sweeter, but still good. This place's impressed us so much that we visited again three days later and ordered the scallops, salmon and cookie skillet. All delicious! I met a friend on a Friday for lunch. We sat at the bar. Our bartender was a nice young lady. I decided to go with the business lunch $46 for 6oz filet cooked medium well, salad, and my choice of side Spinach. They don't have mocktails on the menu but the bartender said she could make what I wanted. I decided on blueberry and it was very good. My steak was slightly overcooked, but still pretty good. It didn't come on a hot sizzling plate like I'm used to at other steakhouses and it wasn't as seasoned as I would've liked. The spinach looked amazing. It seemed to be baked, however the taste just wasn't there. The spinach wasn't that creamy and it was slightly bitter. Now the salad was AMAZING! I got the fresh fish in a citrus beurre blanc with scalloped potatoes. It came with a circular slice of lemon-how do you squeeze that and not squirt it everywhere? The whole fish was under salted. I rarely add salt to a dish and I had to add it to BOTH the fish and the potatoes. You get sent home for doing that on Top Chef. The service was sub-par. Our server never asked if the food was ok. The restaurant was lovely as I would expect of a fine dining establishment. The waitstaff were very friendly and the service very good. The drinks menu was expansive. However, our waitress was not familiar with the wine list and I have never been to a restaurant that did not carry a Riesling or a Moscato wine. Perhaps I dined on an off day so consider this in your decision. The entire menu is A la carte as per usual. I am always interested in the chef's creative special entrees, but there were none. I hoped for Ruth's Chris food quality and variety, but I was a bit disappointed. While the menu lists several salads, the dressings were all vinegar based, so salad was not among my meal options. I found it unusual to see a wedge salad with a Basalmic vinegar dressing rather than blue cheese. Others really enjoyed the Caesar salad. Our party ordered three different entrees and sides. The sea bass was amazing, but ask for the sauce on the side if you are a purist. My pork chop was a 16 ounce bone in cut. I asked for it to be cooked medium, but I guess I should have asked for medium rare because it was dry. I was not a fan of the topping because it looked like burnt food which made it visually unappealing. The fresh steamed vegetables were bland, but to be fair I should have added condiments. Everyone loved the asparagus and Brussels sprouts. Maybe the restaurant could add steamed, buttered broccoli the menu. The filet was good, but I would hazard a guess that it was not prime beef because it was not fork tender. There is a Wagyu beef option that may be a better choice. I guess that inflation has really hit this industry when bread service is not a standard part of the meal, a 6 oz. Filet is $72, and butter cost $6. Decided to go checkout brunch for my birthday since I hadn't been in years. Walked in and my date I had already ordered my bottomless mimosas. We started with the beef tartare with caviar. As we were giving our order our server paused us to respond the another server that wasn't talking to her but she just thought she was ? The drinks were great. The place was very clean. Not trendy. But classic. We got the egg rolls which were good. We also got broiled shrimp. They were good as well. Honestly the bread and butter wowed me. No joke that butter is smooth. Went here for a family members birthday I truly enjoyed the service. It was pleasant and consistent. I met my friend from University here and he recommended some great eats! The Ambiance personally has excellent potential for daytime and nighttime eats. The musical artist who played the piano was exquisite and very diverse in his selection of songs. It's easy to reheat the rawoe undercooked meat but they had to remakes some of the overcooked food. It didn't come out consistent but they did take very good care of us. We had reservations for 6:30 p.m. 5 members of the party arrived early and we commingled at the bar. It was evident we were in the way of the staff and there was not a convenient location to stand together and catch up. We were seated shortly and we were waiting on 5 additional in our party. The waitress was attentive and took numerous drink orders. The smoked old fashion was a fabulous consensus within the group. The beer and wine choices were also very satisfying for our party. Once the majority of our party arrived we ordered appetizers: Cajun boudin spring rolls with ponzu sauce, a bowl of turtle soup, a cup of French onion soup. Entrees ordered: Half-rack (2) Colorado lamb chops with mint jelly and 14 oz dry aged NY strip with side of cauliflower au gratin; 6 oz filet 3 cheese mac, 14 oz blackened NY strip with vegetables of the day, which were grilled tomatoes, parsnips, and carrots (vegetables were al dente). Desserts ordered red velvet cake and white chocolate bread pudding for our retiree. Most in our party were very satisfied with the overall experience, however our retiree commented he ordered his 16 oz prime ribeye steak medium, to his dismay it was cooked uneven. The outer portion was well done and the center was medium. I must also express my disappointment in my prime 14 oz blackened NY strip, which lacked flavor. I liked the al dente veggies better the the lack luster prime steak. I have dined at numerous steak houses prime and not prime. I have had better much steaks than Stab's. Umm yes! I have passed this place many times but never actually tried it until today. I'm not big on fancy places. I'll go for special occasions but that's about it. Tonight we did a just because it's been a long work week and I'm kicking myself for not coming earlier. Service was great. The food was excellent. Stab's Price Steak House was top notch. This was my second time to visit Stab's. I wish I could have taken pictures of the restaurant and food, but I was at a business dinner with a large group, and that probably wouldn't have been appropriate. They had a good choice of beers, wines and mixed drinks. We had several appetizers (traditional wood-fired oysters, Cajun boudin spring rolls, Louisiana jumbo lump crab cakes), and they were very good. For dinner, I had the ribeye steak. It was tender, tasted great and was cooked exactly as I requested. For dessert I had the Carnegie Deli New York Cheesecake, which was also really good. First time visitors at Stab's Steakhouse and we were not disappointed! My boyfriend and I came in for our 2 and a half year anniversary. Our server, Cody, was awesome and attentive. I got a mimosa and boyfriend got a miller. For appetizers, we got the A5 wagyu 4 oz steak and crab and corn bisque (YUM). For my meal, I got the crab cake. The crab cakes are filled with straight crab meat, no filler stuffing! So yum. Boyfriend got the 14oz prime rib steak which was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The meats are so tender. Sides chosen; the baby carrots with brown sugar and pecans and Brussels sprouts. Brussels sprouts were absolutely divine. The carrots were different, yet very good. The atmosphere was very intimate and we enjoyed our time together. During lunch time, they also had a live piano player/singer. Don't go here if you are looking for a fine dining experience because this place comes up short in many respects. We had an 8pm reservation and arrived at 7:50. Instead of being seated at one of the many open tables available in the dining room, we were told we had to wait until 8pm to be seated. Why? So you can send us to the bar to run up a tab? Ok, no problem buying a drink, but there was still no reason we needed to wait when tables were clearly open and available. We get to the bar, and I ask the bartender if they have a still (i.e., not sparkling) rose' wine. They tell me yes, they have one, and I asked for a small pour to taste it since I was not familiar with the brand. Bartender comes back with a pour of what was clearly a sparkling rose'. I reiterated my request that I wanted a still (i.e., not sparkling) rose' and I get a "deer in the headlights" stare, as if she has absolutely no idea what I'm talking about. Um, why are you working this bar? I tell her forget the rose' and just give me a cocktail. The drink arrives and now its time for us to be seated (which could have and should have happened upon our arrival). I get up from the bar to proceed to the table, and I ask the hostess about carrying my drink to the table. Another "deer in the headlights" stare. To be clear, in a fine dining establishment, a patron is never to walk from the bar through the restaurant with a drink in her hand. The appropriate protocol is for the hostess to bring a small tray to the bar where she can pick up the drink and carry it to the table. Instead of her following the proper protocol, my father was forced to carry our drinks to the table--a job that the hostess was supposed to perform--not the guests. We get to the table, and although there are at least a dozen (non-diverse, which is another concern) waitresses sashaying around the dining room in black fishnet hose, it takes at least 10 minutes before one of them bothers to pour us water and discuss the menu. Another 10 minutes pass before we get bread service. We place our orders, and I ask whether the vegetable of the day (broccolini with peppers and tomatoes) can be served without the peppers and tomatoes, as I did not care for them. I get my third "deer in the headlights" stare of the evening and a bumbling non-answer. So, I just make it plain: "I only want broccolini." I think she gets it this time. The wine list has a still rose' on there so I ask if it's actually available since I couldn't get it at the bar. She says yes and brings me a glass. Except, the wine is lukewarm and not properly chilled. I bring this to her attention. She has the audacity to ask me if I want her to bring me some ice for the wine. Excuse me? Only an uncouth individual would drink wine over ice, and I was shocked that she'd even suggest it as an option. The plan B she offered was just as bad: she asked if I wanted her to put my still rose' in a champagne flute. Say what? I explain to her that the right answer is to properly chill the wine before serving it next time. Not sure she gets it. Next, the slovenly dressed general manager sees I'm not happy at this point and comes by the table. I explain all the missteps of the evening , and he proceeds to "man-splain" to me why the mistakes were made, instead of taking responsibility for his poorly trained, ill-informed staff. He then projects a negative "angry Black woman" stereotype onto me, claiming that there's "a lot of animosity" coming at him simply because I am pointing out to him, calmly but directly, why my service experience was subpar, and certainly not what I would expect from an establishment of this caliber. Typical. Reject valid feedback that points out your inadequacies as a manager and attempt to flip the script so that it's now supposedly MY problem that YOUR restaurant is falling short. He continues to be rude and condescending and has sense enough to walk away after I start ignoring his insults. Thankfully, a younger, assistant manager comes along to save the day. He arrives with chilled wine in the proper glass and proceeds to take excellent care of us for the remainder of the evening. I suppose the head manager was in a bad mood after his presidential candidate was nearly assassinated earlier that evening. Well, maybe he should've taken the night off and let the young gun handle things, because he's the only reason our night was salvaged. I won't be back at this place and don't recommend any self-respecting diner go back either until they promote Mr. Young Gun to general manger, get rid of Mr. Nasty Slouch, and properly train the staff. Oh, and they really need to hire some Black staff because the only person of color I saw working the entire evening was the piano player. Figures. read more

You can't have one without the other and boy do they do BRUNCH WELL! For me its always getting the best of both world drinks and great food. When one is better than the other it makes you rethink how often you will come. Our waitress Holly was amazing she took care of and make sure our mimosa were indeed bottomless. As a group we were all over the place not really paying attention to the menu or ready to order. When we first decided what we wanted to try got traditional charbroiled oysters and au gratin charbroiled and that is truly a meal by itself. For me it wouldn't be brunch without something that reminds me of breakfast so I got the chicken and waffles.
