I'll start with 3 of 4 entrees were good. The Cajun Trout was not. It was tough and seemed to be either a frozen product OR overcooked. The food came all at the wrong time. Prime Rib arrived first and one appetizer, then my salad arrived, my entree came with the salad and my friends Ahi arrived, then last came my wife's trout. Our appetizer calamari still had not arrived, so we just cancelled that. This is not a cheap restaurant, but when they do a good job, the food is very good with big portions, good value. The appetizers and salads must arrive first. We had drinks and a bottle of wine, all good. The drink was a full pour, Gentleman Jack on the rocks appeared to be a 3 ounce pour, good value! The service was very friendly, but clearly not technically proficient or efficient. Overall VERY friendly and most of the food was very good, with one exception. It was busy and the night before Mothers Day? They were not ready for the busy night and it's hard to return to a place that cannot bring food for 4 in the correct order. You cannot bring entrees, then salads and forget the appetizer and get a good review? Just a suggestion for the management. When the appetizer was still not there after everything else arrived, don't let us cancel it. Bring it and make it on the house! My husband and I love this restaurant. It is our go to for birthdays and anniversaries because we both love it so much. My husband always gets the steak Maui which is a Hawaii marinated rib eye and he savors every bite. I always get the steak brazzo which is steak medallions in a mushroom Madeira sauce...so yummy. The Mac n cheese is the BOMB!!! We LOVE it! The restaurant has intimate seating, but my husband complained that it is a little to dark for him. He prefers to be able to see what he is eating. This place has fallen off drastically. My wife and I had a 35 minute wait on a reservation. The food was bland. The drinks has gotten smaller. People standing around like they were at the park or somewhere. Our waitress was playful and sarcastic. We will never go back to this location. I have no idea how good the food or service was but felt compelled to write this for the benefit of other readers who have dogs. We are traveling cross country and have found it surprisingly tricky to find decent restaurants to eat outside with our dogs. A lot of Yelp listings list outdoor seating but when we got there it turned out there was not outdoor seating. Our criteria became: - filter for outdoor seating - filter for dogs allowed - check photos to confirm the presence of outdoor seating J Alexander's met those criteria and we decided to go there for lunch despite it being somewhat out of our way. When we arrived the hostess wasn't sure if dogs were allowed on the patio. She wasn't sure and called her manager and told us no. I pointed out that the Yelp listing said that Dogs were allowed. I also pointed out given the heatwave we were likely to be the only party outside. She shrugged her shoulders and said there was nothing she could do. After being seated, I noticed the scent of sour water becoming stronger. With Covid, it could be possible that the strong scent is a result of over sanitation. For my main dish I ordered the fresh salmon. Instead of having the fresh salmon grilled, I made a request to have my salmon blackened.
