I've been here a few times, but that was when they were in the Village of Orange, or Orange Mall, where they've been for several years. The new location has a sense of familiarity to it when you walk in, which is comforting to know you'll still get the same, friendly, service. This guy knows his stuff and knows how to fix things. I've mainly come in for battery replacements and recently had a hard to remove cover he had to get creative to remove it without damaging it, but he did. Is he the cheapest, no, but it's worth paying more for quality work and parts that will last. read more

Owner lied to my boyfriend about replacing a diamond in my ring that fell of. It happened to be glass man made FAKE DIAMOND. He charged $380 to put a little little diamond and fix the middle to re-prom. I took it to another jewelry store because my ring came back smaller and two different jewelers told me it was a fake diamond. When coming back to confronting the owner he said he didn't have a diamond at the time, but he can replace it for me now. So he charged as if he was putting a real diamond. He lied. I took it to another jewelry store and they told me they would have done it for $55 since the diamond was so so little however, the owner told my boyfriend it was $350 however he charged him at $380 when he looked at the receipt all for a fake diamond to re-prom. My ring came back smaller and now it doesn't fit my finger. He should have told my boyfriend that he didn't have a diamond instead of lying and putting a fake one, but charging him like if it was real, very disappointed. read more

Joseph is an amazing jeweler and watch repair guy. I have had the pleasure of taking my watches to him a couple different times for everything from batteries to factory defects. He has always been able to find the rare parts and fix them up. Recently, I had a self wind watch that I wanted to change the colors of the hands on the dial to white. BEWARE!!!! POOR QUALITY!! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I was in earlier this month when an emerald stone fell out of my ring and I needed it popped back in. The ring is very sentimental to me, and this should have been a VERY EASY repair. When I came back to pick up my ring, the owner had dissapeared, and his associate handed me back the ring which I immediately could see was damaged. While putting the stone back in the setting the face of the stone was chipped several times. When alerting the owner to this issue, HE DENIED DAMAGING MY RING AND EVEN TOLD ME I WAS LYING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!! I wear this ring everyday and I know very well which stone was missing when I brought it in. To top it off, the setting is still SO loose, that the stone will easily fall out again. I had a hard time even them to give me a refund for the (dis)service. And now I'm stuck having to take it to another jeweler to have them repair this store's mistake. I have tried to contact the store several times to talk to the owner. HE WON'T RETURN MY CALLS AND THE EMAIL ADDRESS LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE IS NOT CORRECT. I'm writing this because I just read some of the reviews for these guys, and was disgusted. I went to their shop to get a new watch battery. I had to return the next day to pick it up, which was fine by me. What was not acceptable was the $25 fee for a simple battery. There is another watch repair kiosk at the mall that I was not aware of. After I picked up the watch, I walked over to Watchland (kiosk) and kindly asked their price. The gentleman stated $8. I was furious that someone could have ripped me off that much. I went back to the J&C, and immediately the individual got defensive. All he had to do was kindly explain his pricing. When someone gets like that, it's quite obvious that they are either lying, or don't have a proper response. The next time I needed a battery, I went back to the mall and stopped by these thieves again and decided to test them. Well, once a thief......always a thief. Sure enough, as soon as I questioned the price, the individual went super defensive and became rude. Needless to say this is how I became a dedicated customer with Watchland. I have a Harley Davidson ring I have worn until most of the plating wore off. I took it to J&C Creative Designs and ask them to remove the remaining old plating and to replate with silver. He had informed me that I overpaid for my fiance's engagement ring at the jewelry store, but he was able to apprise the ring close to what I paid so I could insure it. I LOVE this shop. Joseph went above and beyond on several different items. My repaired and cleaned rings look brand new. He gave me great value for my old broken pieces and even created an originally designed two-tone tahitian pearl and diamond ring a week after I initially purchased it as a plainer ring, just to make sure I would be happy with the piece for years to come. I've been going to J&C for a few years now. My needs are mostly jewelry modifications/repairs, and so far, there seems to be nothing that Joe can't do. Everything I've requested has been done while I waited, and any request that he hasn't done has been because he advised against it, and that was usually because the request came with some risk or side effect. Joe is confident and personable. He let's you watch him work (right near the entrance to the shop!), and makes it look easy, which makes it easy to forget that it's all due to a lifetime of experience. read more

I usually don't take the time to post for service I expect. I'll post if I have a great experience or a crappy experience. I took my watches here for batteries for several years. Originally, it was an older gentleman who provided fantastic service. I was very disappointed when he sold the business; however, I continued as a patron. Recently I took in a watch for a new crystal. Other than the broken crystal it was functioning perfectly. $135 later I go to pick it up and the owner tells me the second hand doesn't work. He says he noticed it when he started working on it. I tell him it worked fine when I brought it in. He suggests that maybe the mechanism needs cleaning and he'll be happy to do it for another $100+ (can't remember exact quote but it was north of $100 by a quite a bit). The second hand works independently of the time keeping mechanism but the stop watch and perpetual calendar don't work and the date changes but keeps getting a day ahead. Bottom line, if you just need a battery it's a fine place to go but I don't recommend J&C for anything else. read more

A few weeks ago I had the good fortune of walking into J & C Creative Designs. My husband passed away a couple of years ago and I did not want to give up wearing my entire wedding band that represented so many years of love and togetherness. I decided I would only remove the 1 carat diamond and place it into another ring I owned while combining it with my ten year anniversary diamond band. Joseph was very patient as he listened to my design wishes (and watched me get a bit teary eyed) and assured me that I would love the end result. He asked if I wished to watch him work personally as to not have the diamond leave my sight, but I felt very comfortable in letting him work on it. In less that 1 day...yes, one day....my beautiful ring was ready! And you know what??? My wedding band was also sculpted into a ring I could wear if I so desire! I did not expect that added bonus of such a treasure!! I can't thank Joseph enough for his compassion at expediting the creation of my rings. This small gesture corroborated my initial impression that Joseph was an honest businessman and I couldn't be more impressed. I absolutely recommend J & C Creative Designs for any of your jewelry design or repairs. Since then, I've been back to size and repair my husband's Breitling watch and repair another ring.
