The food is excellent, I will give you that. The açaí bowl is delicious and well worth the price. The only thing that stops me from eating there every day is the staff. I walked in and one of the girls just kept giving me a bad look. She literally would not stop staring at me. I almost asked her if she had a problem with me. I called in my order, and the girl who answered the phone never asked me my name. Once I arrived, she told me I called the wrong store. The guy that was there spoke very loudly to me saying I had called the wrong store, and if I still wanted to order my food or not. The whole time the girl in the back kept looking at me with such disgust. I noticed the guy and the girl looked at each other and rolled their eyes. They didn't even try to hide their rudeness towards me. The only reason why I didn't leave, is because they really do make good food. I've come here multiple times, it seems each time it gets worse. The food is excellent, especially the wraps, and I always enjoy it. Quality of the food has never gone down, or fluctuated. Same with the fresh teas and juices...but, the service is terrible. You can sit there for a half an hour easily before a server comes to greet you. Tables are often left unbussed and dirty, leaving very few places to sit. If you are greeted, drinks and food will come out slow, as well, making the overall experience less than mediocre. Very unfortunate, since the food is amazing, but takeout is always an option, although I have never attempted it. Would not recommend dining in here, though. read more

Awful awful AWFUL! Service was slow and, quite frankly, just plain stupid. The girls working there probably won't make it to college and I'm pretty sure the manager is stoned. Called an order in for pickup. Got it home and half the order was missing. Called back to let them know and was put on hold for so long that I ended up getting in my car, driving halfway back to the restaurant, and hung up to call back and actually talk to someone. They told me they'd "try" to have the rest of my order ready by the time I returned. Um... No. I had called my order in almost an hour prior and was just needing a cheese pita pizza and a kids cheesy pasta; there's no reason that shouldn't be ready ASAP. Finally got all my food and went home to eat. $50 later and the food sucked just as much as the service. Grilled chicken platter with pesto: no. The pesto sauce was more like a very light, watery salad dressing and the chicken was dry. Pita pizza: not a pizza. Literally a piece of pita with a slice of cheese melted on top. Kids cheesy pasta: ditto. Literally a piece of melted cheese with a pile of spaghetti sitting on top. The cheese didn't melt evenly throughout the spaghetti and wasn't mixed together. It's like they just threw them both into the container. Salmon crepe with tomatoes and scallions: Sure... If you don't mind fatty pieces of salmon rolled in what's more like a pancake (not a crepe) and a few chunks of tomatoes and scallions in the corner of the platter. Totally bland and tasteless. FYI if you ask if they have juice or juice boxes for the kids... They didn't tell me over the phone that they DO have juice boxes. So, instead, I paid $4/each for small juices for my kids. Our total bill for lunch for 4 (2 adults & 2 kids under 5) was $50. Bad food, bad service, overpriced. Will never return nor recommend. read more

The juices and smoothies are really good. I'm a fan of the papaya mango banana. I've also had the prepared tuna and chicken salad they sell in the little cooler by the register and it's very good and much better value than eating there. I give the service 0 stars however. I usually walk here to get a smoothie or juice since I live right down the street, and I have never, I repeat NEVER, been welcomed with a smile or even been thanked for coming. The owners are an older couple, the man is usually eating at the register and doesn't look at you or ask if you're ready you kind of have to assert yourself and just start ordering. I've placed complete orders paid and left without one person talking to me or telling me I could wait at the juice bar. It doesn't prevent me from coming because Im usually there all of 10 minutes but still, it's annoying to pay that much for a smoothie and have to feel like I'm a bother to the staff. read more

I've had breaded spinach nuggets that my 20 month old niece eats & that was at least 10 times better than this meal. I'm a carnivore. I eat anything that had parents. At the same time, I enjoy a healthy, hearty meal from time to time & when I do, I try to go to a vegetarian place to fulfill that need. I settled on Juice & Java because a number of people in the office order from there. However, as I write this review, it has dawned on me that they only ever order drinks. I had a chicken salad crepe & a watermelon/cantaloupe/pineapple smoothie. The chicken salad was basically mush shoved inside a crepe. Someone chopped up a grape tomato, put it in top, stuck it in a clear plastic container which caused the crepe to sweat & was a soppy, soggy mess by the time it got to me. The smoothie, on the other hand, was really good. No added sugars or mixes or powders. Just fresh fruit puréed the way I like it. I will never return here even if the smoothies are good. I'd rather spend my money else where as it was way too expensive for less than mediocre food. I'm so appalled by the food & price that I'm writing this review before the meal has even digested. This is the place for you if you are a health nut. Instead of soy sauce, J&J has a seasoning with 16 different amino acids. It pretty much tastes like soy sauce. They have everything a health nut would want to be healthy. I sat down and the first thing I noticed was the ambiance to the place is pleasant and the decor is very vibrant. A very uplifting type of place. I ordered an iced green tea and a portabello wrap. I blinked my eyes and my food appeared before me. I agree, he wasn't the most friendly guy and the fact this place is packed all day is surprising because its just average and extremely over-priced. The prices are beyond ridiculous but this place targets the Saint Andrews/Pine Crest mothers who are either coming from the gym or need a pick-me-up after some Neiman Marcus shopping. The service is usually good and with a smile and that too is surprising given the constant unappreciative and demeaning ways of the owner. The menu is very robust but a few doors down (First Watch) services better breakfast and lunch. If you are in the mood for a $12 green life shake then this place is for you. I've been here many times over the years. The food and the smoothies/juices are good... maybe a little bland. And, prices are a little high for what you get. After I placed my order, the wife is looking around and sees a small cup of yogurt in the cooler that she wants to try - she buys that and we step outside while we wait for my wrap to be finished. In addition to the inside tables, they have maybe 5 or 6 tables outside - all were empty. So, my wife sits down at a table and begins to eat her yogurt. A few minutes later, the cashier comes out with my wrap in a to go bag. Since my wife hadn't finished eating her yogurt, I begin to sit down next to her to wait for her to finish. The cashier gives us an attitude and says all huffy "Next time, if you want to eat here, we will bring it to you". Since my plan was still to take my wrap home, I said, "Yes, I am going to take it to go...". She cut me off before I could say anymore and gives me a very sarcastic and rude, "Yeah right, I can see that", turns her back and walks back inside. I can see how she might have misunderstood our intentions. Obviously, she is a rude, Boca B*. But, seriously, why the attitude Bocahontas? What if we had changed our minds and decided to eat there...? Wouldn't better customer service have been "Hey, if you changed your mind about taking it to go, let me know I can bring you a plate and some utensils"? I took a lunch break here with my girlfriend today and had a horrible experience. After waiting initially for over 30 minutes our waiter came out to tell us he forgot to put our order in. Once our order finally came out they had brought my gf the wrong food, but argued with her it was correct, before admitting it was just the chicken that was missing... we asked for the manager several times (15 minutes go by, no manager, no correct order). The waiter comes out to say he would take 25% off our bill, which at this point my gf has yet to receive her correct meal or even the "missing chicken". Third time's a charm. We'd tried to go here two previous times, but both times they were closed during times that would seem to be pretty good "eating" times. For example, they're closed all day Sunday, which seems odd (to me!) for an eatery. Anyway... We ate outside and didn't even venture into the building. It's kind of ironic that Juice & Java is situated right next door to Omaha Steaks, but oh well. The outside eating area has some zen-like music piped in, with a water fountain over some rocks and foliage. It's nice considering it's basically in a strip mall type of environ. I'd opt to eat outside here every time if the weather was right. The menu here is HUGE, and I LUV, LUV, LUV that there are many, many, many healthy choices for both meat-eaters and herbivores. I enjoyed the house veggie wrap while my husband enjoyed a grilled tilapia wrap. If you'd like sauces/dressings they're available upon request and don't cost extra. I asked for the tzatziki sauce, but didn't care for it. In fact, it was more like tofutti with some cucumber bits in it, and tasted nothing like tzatziki sauce. It has a sour cream consistency, and was way too thick to be called tzatziki. My husband had the miso sauce with his wrap and it was DELISH! Next time around, I'm adding miso to anything I order. The juices were excellent, though they're on the spendy side! You really can't come here and NOT get a smoothie of some sort though. They are fresh and tasty and worth the splurge. Yaas to fresh juice!! This place has my heart because it always makes it's juice fresh unlike some other juice places near by. I usually get "the cure" which contains a bunch of different fruits and veggies (ginger, carrots, celery, beets, spinach, and others that I can't remember at the moment but it's all good when it's mixed together!) They have smoothies too that I'm sure are just as good! The food here is pretty good! It is a little pricey for me to come here all the time but when I do I enjoy it any ways regardless of price. I don't really remember what I ordered, I believe there was some quinoa, avocado... your typical healthy meal. Of course the flavours here aren't the saltiest or sweetest because it's made naturally with no extra seasoning added. If you're looking for something with more mouthwatering tastes then go get food somewhere else. They offer snacks and take home cold foods throughout the restaurant that all look good but I personally never got any. The atmosphere is really chill, you could order at the bar or sit and they will serve you at a table of your choice. I get juice from Juice and Java at least 3 times a week. Best juice bar in the area. They have a huge variety of juices to choose from so its impossible to get bored with the selections. You can create your own juice combo as well. J&J has loyalty punch cards which is great if you go there a lot. The people who work there are always nice and can recommend different juice and food to fit your taste. They are knowledgeable about the menu. Their food is great too. Service was good but the food had gone down hill big time !!! I ordered the Chicken Burger (grilled chicken sandwich). The chicken was clearly frozen as it was butterflied and not cleaned well. The sautéed onions were half grilled and no where near cooked which they changed out but didn't take the old ones. My wife got the salad which was stocked with olives and lettuce was soggy. The juices are 5 star. They will custom make to order and, serve it in an air tight container. The only other juice places in the area either pre-make their juices or, hand it to you in a cup so that you have to drink it on the spot. For take home, custom juices, this is the spot. But other than that, this place couldn't make worse food if they tried. Their menu is soy and, grain heavy. So, my daughter got a salad, with chicken, I got stir fried vegetables (Ordered with no sauce) and, the mushroom, eggplant with a lettuce wrap instead of a grain one. My daughter's salad was a slab of right off the grill chicken with melted cheddar on a bed of lettuce that had wilted from the heat. The stir fry veggies were over cooked covered in so much sugary goo, I just through them out. The portabella, eggplant in a lettuce wrap turned out to be a mushy mess and, on a bed of spinach. We just threw out 3 meals. There were all a soggy bunch of over cooked, sugary garbage. How can they not know this? They really need to find someone to run their kitchen. What a lack of respect for their clients. If you are looking for healthy, edible food, you'd be better off at McDonalds. read more

I usually enjoy this spot but placed a to go order for a smoothie with an older gentleman at the counter who was rude when I asked what base is used in the smoothies (yogurt or ice etc)...he answered ice and I said "Oh ok, you do use ice," and proceeded to order one although feeling disappointed. He went on to be quite defensive and say it wouldn't be a smoothie without ice, which isn't true and was not a kind way to speak to a customer. The smoothie is mediocre.
