The staff is great most of the time they're friendly too. But I don't order from here because I'm trying to make friends. I order from here because the food has been great for the most part. The wings are crispy and not burnt. The wing sauce is great too. I just wish they drowned my wings in the sauce, they said they didn't do that but they can give me extra sauce on the side. ‍ At least I get that right... The pizza is amazing. I recommend the supreme. Anyway, I have eaten at the restaurant too and it was nice. Clean. They have game machines like back in the days to play on while you're waiting for your food. I love JJS PIZZA. I will not order from anyplace else. Today I was very disappointed. I ordered a beef boat and asked to put cheese and veggies on top of meat.Everythong was on the bottom, the bread was soggy on bottom and fell apart but the bread on top and sides was very hard. read more

No"thank you", no courtesy. Called to ask to add delivery instructions, response "is that it" hung up on me. I am staying in a hotel and there are about a dozen pizza places that deliver here. So I went down to the front desk to converse briefly with the staff about the best pizza joint that delivers. They recommended J & J's. When I called to place an order the employee was very friendly. The delivery driver was exceedingly cheerful. The pizza was.......disappointing. Unless I just happened to order a pizza on an "off" night I am puzzled by the glowing recommendations. I enjoy all types of pizza: deep dish, thin crust, stuffed, pan, you name it but I expect it to have some flavor. The stuffed pizza I ordered had a very bland crust and the sauce basically had no spice or seasonings. Being in a hotel room I had very little to add to the pizza to spice it up. I was able to find some Tabasco packets, salt and pepper in the (closed) breakfast room but that was the best I could do. True, it was very cheap. But I would rather pay more for better pizza. So........four stars for friendly customer service. Five stars for exceedingly friendly delivery. Two stars for the disappointingly flavorless pizza. And extra credit for being cheap eats. But two stars overall says I won't return unless I have a dozen hungry teenagers to feed on a limited budget. read more

It's sad to see how they have fallen. A couple of months ago we ordered a pizza with sausage and mushrooms and the mushrooms were from a can. I said I'd never order there again but tonight I gave them another chance. I ordered a pizza burger (burger, mozzarella, Swiss or provolone cheese with marinara). The girl answering the phone told my wife if it's off the menu the high schoolers making the it would mess it up... I should have listened but I thought home can you mess that up. I got a plain burger with marinara on the side and col mozzarella in a box on the side... Really JJs... you really need to get squared away. This is probably one of my favorite pizza places around the Chicago land area I think it's top notch and basically my go to pizza place. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because they really don't have a dine in option. I have basically ordered every style of pizza on the menu. I gotta say my favorite is the deep dish kitchen sink pizza. I think the kitchen sink is well worth the price the don't skimp on the toppings and it is just a awesome pizza. I will say I'm not a huge fan of the stuffed crust with the kitchen sink style normally just stick with the deep dish or thin crust. I also think that the customer service and delivery drivers at this place is really above average. They are very nice and always pleasant. I also think the wait time is pretty reasonable and I've never had any problems. read more

I went to JJ's Pizza Shack in Portage Indiana on Monday 11/08/2021 4:pm to pick up a phone in order. There only seemed to be two people in the back taking and preparing orders. A table of six was already served and the guy in the back was preparing at least six orders including mine. It was amazing watching his work ethics, speed, and efficiency while working all the orders at one time. Thumbs up to the two people keeping up with the phones, baking, and gathering the orders together. The crispy pizza bread I ordered was soggy and stuck to the aluminum foil that it was wrapped in directly. the same for the tomatoe bread that I ordered. when I called they blamed it on a new hire who put too much cheese on as topping. now I have purchased numberous pizza and tomatoe breads with extra cheese and have never encounter the problem. They offered to make me new order but at !0:00pm at night I had to decline. I also order chicken wings that I have ordered in past and loved but this order was soggy not crispy and definitely not hot wings. This is not the first time I have been disappointed in the Portage restaurant. The pizza I have had from Hobart location was wonderful. What is the difference? Is there a decent pizza place in Portage? Unfortunately I did not take pictures but sure if the pictures could justify.! read more

Good pizza-terrible service The pizza is awesome in my opinion. All pizza is unique to the place. So I think that they're version or take on pizza is good. The stuffed crust is pretty much all I get, and I just switch up the toppings. That pretty much sums it up. I did not order from these guys recently, but i can say when my gf and I were in Valparaiso, In we would order form that location all the time and loved their pizza. Different types of foods ordered, on different occasions were their pizzas of course taste awesome to us, their shrimp basket was ok, but honest fried foods don't sit well with us as much, so i can not give a true opinion on them for anyone. I can say their beef sandwiches are awesome as we loved them. We as well have had their chicken wings , which also are good. We have yet to order form the one in portage as we reside in now, but we shall seriously do so soon again. read more

It took them an hour to cook a couple of 12in one topping pizzas and they didn't even tell me when the pizzas were done. Good pizza, good breadsticks. Reasonably priced food, and their party pizzas are great for entertaining a lot of people. Sparse settings inside and I have actually never eaten inside as we live just down the street. You won't be disappointed with the food here. read more

The pizza is very good but after four inaccurate order, I called and politely asked to speak to a manager. Lauren, the manager, is my sole reason for giving a 1 star rating. I opened by saying that I wanted to respectfully share some feedback with her. I explained the situation and all she did was make excuses. I even agreed with her that everyone makes mistakes and I was not complaining about their new employee, who took my order this evening, but rather the fact that something has been wrong multiple times which is why I was calling. She continued to make excuses then smugly said perhaps if I was the one having reoccurring problems with my order I should request to speak to a manager if I want to order there again. Someone needs to teach this young lady a lesson in customer service. read more

What can I say! I ordered $80 worth of Pizza and Wings as a group was getting together. This was our first night in Indiana. (June 30) The order arrived late, to say it was trash is to say the least. Ordered stuffed pizza ( pepperoni and cheese) Zero Pepperoni! little cheese, the pizzas were cold and had to microwave them. The wings were cremated, looked like jerky. Attempted to call back that night, there was no answer. When I finally contacted the manager, she sounded like a little girl. Stated that their policy was $5 credit. Give me a break!! Also said if YOU DO NOT CALL BACK ON THE SAME NIGHT...TOO BAD. What an attitude. I would highly recommend another place. What kind of food business does not stand behind their product. The shack is where it is at. I've been told how good this place is and I was not disappointed. I tried jalapeno poppers which were the best ones I've ever eaten. I also ate the stromboli with sausage and mushrooms. It's not your typical looking stromboli but it was very delicious. Also I do recommend the banana fosters bite those were amazing. read more

People rave and rave about JJ's in the region but I've never been highly impressed. They make a good italian beef but that's about it. The pizza doesn't have much flavor and always seems soggy for a thin crust. Also I always think their pizzas taste way more salty then anyone elses. My dad loves their kitchen sink which has every topping imaginable on it and orders it all the time. You really have to try a 'stuffed' pizza. It's like a massive calzone cut into pieces you can grab and eat. If you get a lot of 'toppings' it will be one hell of a mess! Try it with just cheese and pepperoni--best pepperoni in the area that I have tried! We usually get a medium stuffed--with extra,extra cheese and a bit of extra sauce. I will admit over the last 13 years of ordering from this location we have never been let down, had rude service, or had anything missed upon delivery. There have been some slightly overcooked crusts in the mix--but all you have to do is say "Hey guys, could you watch my crust and make sure it doesn't burn?" And they know your a regular! read more

We called and repeated the order of food that was mistaking and got a ear full of rudeness and apparently we cant read the menu from their website cause we are wrong.. As much as 3 people in my house read the same thing that I ordered from THEIR menu and I knew I wasnt reading it wrong.. But to J&J Pizza Shack as their customers "that can read" We are all wrong. So as Im Typing this we have to give back the food that THEY messed up and have to wait even longer for our kids to eat. I thought that little Caesars was the worst pizza but j&j's has beaten them hands down. j&j's used to be a great pizza, but how things have changed. one would get more flavor out of eating a sponge than a pizza from j&j's, OH! We were passing threw Portage and wanted a pizza. We found JJ's on Google maps. The girl at the counter was very pleasant. We ordered a ground sausage pizza, breadsticks, and breaded mushrooms. They were all excellent. They also had arcade games and old fashioned pinball. The kids had a lot of fun while they waited. All in all very great place. I used to think this place was great. I think that is before it was moved a few thousand times.
