We had the pleasure of having my best friend (my Brother) my Sister n love, and my favorite couple from Bama in town. We decided to get a bite to eat before going on our own bar crawl. I like the Vibe here and it's a nice quaint & antique style throughout the restaurant. The service so far is okay but maybe they don't have enough people working. Our table ordered drinks and our meals all together...because we weren't sure if we would see our server again anytime soon. On our table was...Lake Perch fish, 2 baskets of onion rings, buffalo blue cheese and bacon fries and 2 baskets of wings. Overall experience was 4 & a half Stars read more

Great pizza! Definitely five stars. Downside: they allow smoking INDOORS! If you're not a chain smoker, you won't be able to enjoy your food. Even some of the waitstaff complain of headaches and sore eyes. Outdoor seating is a bit better provided you're upwind of a smoker. read more

From start to finish it was a bad experience. Our antipasto salad came out and it was room temp. Nothing cold, or fresh. We ordered a half sausage, mushroom, green pep, and onion-the other half sausage and pepperoni pizza. It comes out all sausage and pepperoni. They took the pizza back to make it right. 10 mins later the same pizza comes back with the missing toppings laying on top. It looked like slop. Waitress noticed but didn't offer to make us a new pizza the right way. Whoever is in the kitchen wasn't concerned with quality control. I left feeling nauseated. read more

I absolutely love this place! I've been coming here all my life. Moved from Gary years ago but I always make it a point to come to Flamingo's when visiting home. Having their pizza years ago as kid back in the 70s & early 80s was a real treat and today, it still is. Wonderful staff, clean dining room and restroom, great clientele, food is amazing, prices are good and I love that they stay open late. There is a reason they've been standing strong since 1941. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. OVER 21 ONLY (which would be fine, if there were any other options around, but there is only like ONE) You have to order take out pizza if you have kids. Even for a bar, it's not my style because I prefer craft cocktails and wine spots. All I can say is that I am shocked how unfriendly the entire Miller area is for families. Usually spots like Flamingos are no kids after 9 p.m. or something, but this places doesn't allow any kids ever!!! So really it's a bar that serves bar food, not a restaurant at all. There aren't many options for dining, so I'd say, families just stay away from Flamingos (kids can't get in anyway). Just skip staying in the Indiana section of Lake Michigan PERIOD. We came for a little family get away for a few days to visit Indiana Dunes National/State Park after a convention in Chicago area. We didn't have luck anywhere close to Miller. So we had to drive pretty far west and back to Chicago a lot for dining and food. It's just really weird because usually people leave the city to go to more family friendly spots, but the reverse is true of this area of Indiana. read more

Kids aren't allowed. Kind of weird for a pizza joint. The hostess was nice about it but I guess we were moving away too slowly, deciding if we were going to order take out and eat it somewhere else, and another staff shook the sign at us rudely. I have loved Flamingo's pizza since I was a kid and still do. Back then they were on Bdwy. The spot in Miller is a local favorite. Yes, it's a bar and smoking is allowed. It is not a family spot. It's where you go to get away from the kids after they drove you nuts at the beach all day! But there is always the option of TO-Go orders. Not family friendly. My family enjoyed a day and afternoon at the beach for the first time and we saw this place on google and their pizza looked phenomenal and the reviews looked good so we made an attempt. - absolutely 0 parking in area. Couple spots they have are full constantly and the street parking is for residents in area only. - place is tiny - we tried to go inside to get a table to eat and were turned away because kids are not allowed. They said it's carry out only. We asked about the tiny patio seating outside and they said it's for adults only.. Due to it being a holiday (Memorial Day Monday) there were very minimal places open and we were so excited for Flamingos. So we left Gary and went back to IL and found somewhere else. read more

Pizza was good but staff was horrible. Waitress/manager comes off as arrogant trailer trash which ii find hard to pull off at the same time but she does it. Place is smokey and dark and the staff is rude as can be. Tables are dirty and heaven forbid you actually expect someone to do their job they will throw a fit. Busy early Friday evening but our service was great. Perch was outstanding! I highly recommend Flamingo Pizza.

Flamingo is our fave local spot for adult beverages and food! Not only is their pizza so fresh, tasty and has that chewy crust... but their fresh fish on Thursday through Saturdays is hands down the best in the area! This is a great spot to meet up with the locals and see your new favorite bartenders and servers. Heads up they are closed on Tuesdays so don't try to go then! The service and food is always spot on! Your correct that I should have opened the box and checked it but when the gentleman handed me the box and repeated the order I thought it was all good, The 1 star was not for the pizza itself as I love coming there but for the way that the food manager spoke to me to resolve this. We have the supreme pizza which was absolutely phenomenal. We also ordered two side salads, and all they had in them was lettuce and one or two small pieces of tomato. The service was adequate, and the atmosphere in side was quite loud and very smoky. The bottom line is the pizza is great if you can handle the smoke and aren't picky about a nice salad. read more
