I rarely give a 5 star review. This place is deserving. We timed it just right between lunch and dinner so we were seated right away. Very comfortable environment with an upscale downtown Chicago menu. Prices are not Chicago style. I had 2 cosmos and my husband had 2 Blue Moons. Sorry I didn't take pictures of all the amazing food we had. We ordered a few appetizers and the out of this world delicious asparagus soup with crab meat. We had the bone marrow aranccini, Brussel sprouts and feta crostini. All delicious.

Pretty basic on the inside, but very clean. We had a Quattro Frommaggio which was the best European pizza I have had here in Indiana. Dough is lite and fluffy, the cheese was excellent. Courtney was pleasant and informative.

The food here is generally excellent. Homemade dough, some homemade pasta noodles, fresh and vibrant veggies. Sometimes I get a special I don't care much for but overall we like it. It's a cute place, lots of fresh herbs and even tomatoes growing out front. We have found the service to be friendly and good, but super slow at times. We stopped in on a Friday evening, the place was packed. We waiting about 15 minutes for a table which was fine. But then we sat there 10-15 minutes before anyone took a drink order. Then she dropped off the drinks and said she'd be "right back" for our order... another 10-15 minutes. We spent almost two hours there. And I totally don't mind a leisurely dinner but there were so many people waiting you would think they'd want to turn tables a little more quickly. I think they just need a couple more servers or something. We enjoyed the big ass mozzarella stick, though I really wanted a nice cheese pull which I didn't get. I had the lasagna which was rich and delicious. My partner had the meatballs and a side salad which he enjoyed. The desserts looked amazing and generous but we had to leave as we were out of time for dinner. Definitely go but make sure you have plenty of time!

This lovely spot is a gem! We always love the food here. The service is on point and we've tried enough of the food that we always want to come back, and I feel I can give a fair review. There are chefs features that change weekly and we like to try to order from that menu As well. The pizza ingredients are unique and delicious! The only thing I would do differently is making sure the wood fired pizza crust stays crisp in the center from oven to table, like maybe serving it on a grated plate instead of a solid aluminum pizza plate. Other than that it's delicious. It won't stop us from returning again and again!

Amazing food, the appetizers were not skimpy, the waitress was awesome. My some had the pepperoni pizza and he loved it, said it's the best he's had, my fiance had the malfaldine pasta (spelling is probably wrong) I had the smash burger, my only regret is that I wasn't able to eat it all cz I got full lol definitely stop in.

It is now closed - but it was the best Italian in 30 miles and the pizza chef woman was edgy and hot.

Salad was enough for 4 - 6 people. Me and my partner had plenty of leftovers. So many ingredients almost too many to list. The ingredients that stood out were the Asparagus, mushrooms, and broccolini. Ingredients were hot and delicious. We split the Carmelized Onion Tortellini. It was magical. Great buttery taste and the Carmelized Onions oozed out of the tortellini when I cut into it with the fork. We were stuffed when we left and had enough leftovers to eat for dinner the next day. We came at lunch time & got right in. Ordered the focaccia bread. It came with olive oil & marina sauce. So amazing. Also shared the kale Ceasar salad. It was huge! Enough for 4-6. It had a lot of ingredients. Roasted asparagus, broccolini, shaved Brussels sprouts, mushrooms. It was delicious, but I would have preferred a lighter summer salad. It was hearty & warm. I'd get it again in the fall. We shared the caramelized onion tortellini. It was huge too. Amazing prices for the amount of food. It was so delicious. The onions were sweet & the pasta was perfect & fresh. Lots of leftovers to take home. Cute ambiance, friendly service. Loved that we could watch the chefs prepare the food too. Can't wait to come back for more pasta & try dessert.

Was hesitant…read moreto try it due to some pretty poor reviews of this place, but I'm happy to report our experience was fine! We did NOT have to wait forever for service or food. Our food was good--the deep dish Numero Uno could have been warmer (knocked off a star for that) but was still enjoyable. Seems like Uno's is sort of combined with the Speakeasy at the Spa place. The building is adjacent to the Spring House Inn. The dining room with the bar definitely has the speakeasy vibes--they even have a grand piano in the corner. There is also a separate large family dining room. They have some interesting historical antiques to look at in the lobby/waiting area, as well.

The crust was soggy and sad, the sauce tasted straight out of a can, and the cheese was a greasy, rubbery mess that slid off in one chunk. Zero flavor. Zero effort. Service was just as bad. Slow, careless, and you could tell nobody working there gave a shit. Food took forever, showed up lukewarm, and still tasted burnt and bland at the same time. That's honestly impressive--in the worst way possible. For the price they charge, this is embarrassing. You're better off with frozen pizza from the grocery store or a gas station slice. At least that won't waste your time and money. Uno Pizzeria & Grill is riding on its name and nothing else. Overpriced, overhyped, and disappointing. One and done.
