I had a truly fraudulent experience with J&L Plumbing, specifically with a technician named Tate. Before arriving, Tate assured me over the phone that he would do his best to handle my repairs. However, the reality was the exact opposite. He is a total two faced scumbag working for a fraudulent company. **Damage to Home:** Tate was supposed to replace a corroded kitchen faucet but to try to avoid responsibility and coverage all he did was tighten it so aggressively until it caused a major leak, resulting in water damage to the cabinetry underneath. **Negligence & Bad Faith:** He spent less than 5 minutes in my home and claimed he was "unable to inspect" the angle stops and water softener. I later discovered this was a deliberate attempt to avoid performing covered repairs under my home warranty. He chose to lie to the warranty company to ENSURE my claims were denied, despite the items being clearly covered. **Zero Accountability:** Since his visit, I have called J&L and Tate over 10 times and left countless voicemails. I have never received a single return call. Every time I reach the receptionist, I am told he is "busy" and then promptly hung up on. This is an UNETHICAL company that colludes with warranty providers to avoid doing work, while actively damaging customer property in the process. I have officially filed a complaint with the state regulatory agencies and considering complain to Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC) regarding their conduct. Save yourself the stress and the damage--hire a real professional instead. read more

I wish I could give a 0. this company was good until their best plumber Cody left (2 weeks ago). All other plumbers are uneducated and unprofessional. The office secretary is super rude. She keeps screaming and shouting in the phone. The plumber confirmed he will order the broken bidet. I got an email confirmation that next day on Jun 4th,2026, they will come. I called the office and secretary said no we want to cut the whole kitchen ceiling open to find the leakage. The only problem was broken bidet. i mentioned that this is not what we discussed and he had enough evidence to see the problem. She screamed and shouted non-stop. Please do not waste your time and money with this plumbing company. They are referring with EcoDry ( scammers) company to cut the calling and all for big profits. they come and give you more than 10k estimate for leakage. I hired 2 trusted plumbers and they said there were no issues with my ceiling or anything. Cancel your warranty and hire an experienced plumber and do not deal with these scammers. read more

I was truly disappointed with how they handled the plumbing and job for my sisters house. They installed her water heater incorrectly (thus voiding her warranty) and also did a poor job on her roof plumbing. User Beware..... company quoted me a repair for 650. When another plumber explained to me it was a 20.00 part leaking and would repair it for less than 100.00. I am forced to work with this company through a home warranty and the experience has been nothing but horrible. No call backs, paying a service fee and the. Being ghosted not once but twice. Not only did they NOT rebuild my toilet correctly, but they ignored all 3 of my texts to please fix it correctly, claiming that their phone system was sub par and they never received my request. When I finally called them directly, they claimed that my 30 day warranty had expired, which it had not! Then I requested an owner call back which never happened! My warranty company sent a tech from J and L to work on a leak under my sink . Paul showed up, took a look at the problem, tightened a few areas and was not quite sure where the leak was coming from . He told me the leak was bad enough that I needed reclamation service to come out and do work to prevent mold. He told me that if it continued to lead to call and he would come right back out and try to fix it. The next day it was still leaking. I sent him a message and told him I wanted to schedule him to come back out.. I had no contact from him. The very next day, I tried again to contact him and explained again that I had the leak and needed it to be fixed to please come back out. Now it's the third day. No word from Paul. I ended up calling another plumber out to fix the issue. I ended up paying for it out of pocket. The leak was urgent and could not wait. I thought he was a very nice young guy and was impressed until he did not return any of my text messages. He also did not find the obvious leak from the angle stop under the sink! So this being said, I cannot recommend this company. read more

Placed a claim with Choice Home Warrantee to repair a leak under my kitchen sink, that was referred to J & L Plumbing. Called them to set the appointment, which was made for the following day. Luke arrived early in the time frame, which is always a plus. My reverse osmosis was leaking, he adjusted some settings, and when the water was turned back on the leak was gone. Four days later it began leaking again I called J & L and they sent Luke the same afternoon. When he pulled the unit out this time, and turned the water on, he discovered a crack in the end cap in the fifth filter. He dried everything and replaced the leak censor. CHW approved the claim and Luke returned the next day, replaced the cap, and no more leaking. I am extremely happy with Luke and J & L plumbing, I highly recommend this company. read more

They performed my sisters installation incorrectly, which caused the system to fail and resulted in additional repair costs that should not have been necessary. The work did not meet plumbing code, and the customer service response showed a lack of accountability or willingness to correct the mistake. J & L Plumbing works with Old Republic Home Warranty. They have responded to a few requests for us through ORHP. Initially I thought they were ok, they fixed an outdoor valve leak. At the time the guy they sent said that the faucet itself was leaking. He could fix it for $225, or I could call in another ORHP request ($100). I let it go since we didn't use it a lot. We then reported an issue with our toilet. The guy (a different one) that came out said: "oh, it doesn't flush well because where the water flows into the bowl is clogged with calcium. But I'll request ORHP to replace the flushing mechanism because it is starting to fail (but not completely failed yet). We then reported another issue with our same toilet (leaking from the base) a few weeks later, and since we can report multiple issues on one service call report with ORHP, we reported both outdoor faucets leaking as well. The guy they sent was the first guy who said he would fix the broken faucet for $225. He said no the toilet is leaking from the tank, not the base, and replaced the gaskets around the bolts holding the tank to the base. He then said he tightened the outdoor faucets and that would solve the problem. He apparently was wrong about the leak coming from the tank, as it was still leaking from the base. And he made the flushing problem even worse. He was wrong about tightening one of the outside faucet, as it is still leaking. And the faucet he wanted to charge us $225 to fix, he claimed he fixed it by tightening it. He could have gotten a great review if during his first visit he tightened the outside faucet as part of that whole repair ... but he chose not to. So we called them back out to fix the toilet, and same guy came out and replaced the wax ring under the base. And decided to go ahead and replace the flushing mechanism, now it flushes as if there was no blockage with calcium...I wonder how that happened (#sarcasm). Unfortunately I hadn't checked all of his work before he came out to repair the toilet for the 3rd time, because we still have an outside faucet that leaks. So another few hours holding on the phone with ORHP to get another recall set up to fix the outlet...and J&L cancelled that recall - no phone call to me, no excuses to ORHP, they just cancelled the recall service call. Just spoke with ORHP, and they are assigning a new service provider. SO if you use Old Republic for a home warranty and they assign J & L, immediately request a new service provider. If you are considering hiring J & L on your own - you might reconsider. read more

We had a poor experience. This company was sent out to my rental property to fix a slow draining bathtub and a garage pipe leak issue. The bathtub issue was fixed and an appointment was set up to snake the garage line and no one showed up. An appointment was rescheduled and after snaking the line my tenant was told I would receive a call with the results. No call and less than 24 hours later the kitchen sink backed up. That was 5 days ago as of this writing - and I still have not heard back from this company. Poor results and terrible communication. read more

Referred to this plumber through Home Warranty. Appointment set for Tuesday Jan 13/26 between 8:00am and 12 noon. Started calling the dispatcher at 1:00pm. Four different calls to find out where the plumberwas. By 3:30pm I was back on my the phone to the home warranty company to transfer the claim to another company. While on hold the tecynicism called. We went ahead with the initial appointme. The following day the home warranty company called with a long list of costs not covered. We had the claim transferred to another company which provided an estimage the same day. We agreed to the pricing which was more reasonable as the hot water tank was still under warranty. This company shows zero accountability, zero professionalism, and zero respect for customers' time or money. Letting them into your home is a mistake -- they take your payment and deliver nothing. They were suppose to unclog a toilet that is hardly used. He was here for 5 minutes said all done! Really I asked , yes you have 30 days if it happens again. It happened again 29 days later on a Saturday. They aren't open on Saturdays so the rude office lady said to bad you will have to pay to have us come out again! I have attempted to call and email but have not received a response back. First off, I was told all work completed would be covered by home warranty, but then got a quote for $585 to replace hot water heater. Unable to get thru to someone for clarification, I electronically approved the quote due to urgency of leaking hot water tank. The work was completed, but nothing done to address the water damage caused by the leak. I attempted to follow up and still haven't gotten response back. Also noticed I was charged $610 for the service instead of $585. Disappointing service and responsiveness especially considering they are contracted with One Guard Home Warranty. read more

An initial appointment time conflicted with my schedule so I tried to contact J & L to make other arrangements. I tried at least a dozen times to contact them but was always told to wait, which was never answered, then to leave a message, which was also never replied to. Don't deal with them if you need someone that will talk to you and plan an appointment. read more

Jennifer, the initial Representative called us promptly the next business day and they worked with our schedule to come out as soon as possible. Luke arrived timely and worked diligently to identify the origination of the leak. During the assessment process he answered my questions and kept me abreast of the plans. J & L suggested other organizations in which they partnered with (Mitigation & construction.) J & L worked alongside these other businesses to address the issue, as well as collaborate the timeline for all to be done. Horrible service. They came out through my home warranty and gave me a dented water heater. They said cover it up with a magnet. Also we went out of town for the weekend and coming back we had not noticed there was a leak from the pipe. It was not a faulty water heater but that the technician did not correctly tighten it and the whole drain pan was full of water when we came back and the floor in the garage. I called to see if someone can call and at least take a look at the pipes to make sure it would not happen again and he said I was a LIAR and he did not believe me. I sent pictures as proof of what happened. I would not call this company because if you have issues after the fact they will not help you and then they stop answering the phone calls. Plus the manager hung me up when he called me a LIAR!!! read more

I could go on and on about my positive experience with J&L Plumbing. In spring/summer of 2023, my home warranty assigned J&L plumbing to repair my kitchen sink. Let me start by saying that J&L responded so quickly to my request and got me on their books for the next day. The problem was much more serious than I thought, and I'm so grateful they came out so soon, as the pipe had cracked down to the foundation. I believe it was Zack and Patrick who worked on that project, and I could not be more pleased with their work. They were willing to talk me through the whole process of the repair, and answered any and all questions I had. They were also incredibly efficient and had everything back to normal within a few hours. Flash forward to January of 2024, again, my home warranty assigned J&L to tackle a plumbing issue, this time a slow draining shower and sink in my guest bathroom. Patrick came out first and attempted to remove as much debris as possible from the drains, as we had assumed the issue was just a clog. However, the slow draining persisted so J&L asked if I would like to check things out with a camera. Chris and Cody came out to look at the plumbing in my house, and put so much time and care into 1) being thorough in their inspection, 2) keeping me informed about each and every finding, and 3) drafting a report that was equally as detailed and informative as their verbal feedback throughout the appointment. Unfortunately, what they found was that the plumbing in my (very old) home was shot. Chris provided me two very reasonable estimates, as I had asked if I could split the projects up for financial reasons. Within a few hours of signing off on the estimate, the team at J&L had blocked off three days THE VERY NEXT WEEK to tackle the first half of this project. Chris and Cody returned, along with Jose and Dan, and they completed the work in less than two days... even in the rain. Again, each technician took great care in keeping me informed about each action they were taking. I am incredibly pleased with the quality of J&L plumbing's work. I have to admit I am somehow even more pleased with their customer service. First, like I mentioned above, their administrative/scheduling team is ON IT. Not only do they schedule quickly, but I have never had a phone call go to voicemail. Second, and most importantly, the J&L plumbing team is made up of the kindest and most helpful technicians. They truly go above and beyond. As an example, Chris offered to put my new license plate on my car, the first time he visited. Completely unrelated to the plumbing job, but something he still offered to do because he clearly values his customers. Thank you, J&L team for taking care of my home like it's your own. When he came to my house to look at my water heater, he quickly identified the issue and explained it to me (in simple terms) so that I could understand the root of the issue and what needed to be done to fix it. Paul was extremely knowledgeable and provided insight to ease my troubled mind. He then made his professional recommendations and helped me figure out the best solution for my family's needs. All this occurred at our first interaction. Paul then came back to do the work later that week, as promised. Knowing my family was without hot water for the week, he did all he can to make sure we wouldn't go the weekend without the issue resolved. This isn't easy when it comes to dealing with insurance, getting the new heating system, etc. He installed a tankless water heater in my garage, per my request. He was extremely well mannered, professional, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. The end result was an extremely impressive installation! A couple days after completing the work, he followed up with me to ensure that the water heater was functioning as expected and to answer any questions or concerns I had. Unfortunately, I did not do my homework before accepting J&L Plumbing as my assigned plumber by my Home Warranty. From reviews I read, J&L Plumbing appears to make it part of their business practice to include the term "modify" in their assessments on home warranty repairs. This allows them to gouge their customers by double charging for the same work. In my case, total payments for the leak repair to J&L Plumbing was $275 from the home warranty company AND $200 from me for the modification. The complete job was sliding on a new no hub coupler ($275) and adding a ~1 foot of PVC pipe, the black section in the after photo, to move the joint higher for the "modification" ($200). Time to complete the work was less than 15 min, the plumber was in and out in less than 30 min including time for the PVC joint to cure and test for leaks. $475 for 30 min. I did accept the job after the initial assessment, despite my concern about the modification charge, as the home warranty said I could not change service providers once the initial assessment was completed. I have no interest in doing business with a company that makes gouging their customers a standard practice. I will not be using J&L Plumbing again. read more

This Company was called out on a home warranty claim. They submitted on one claim that we had "tampered" with our broken hose and it was denied. If tampered means, tried to remove the hose and discovered it was broken, sure. We paid them to do the repairs that were sloppy and burst after they did it. Our yard person fixed it. They were then called out a second time by our home warranty when we discovered a broken valve causing pressure issues. At no time did we touch the valve or any of the pieces, yet once again they claimed we tampered and it was denied. These guys are crooks and terrible plumbers too. 1 star is too many. Avoid at all costs. So pleased to have our stucco covered in the mess your plumber left. We have been in bed with the flu for a week- tell me when we were out there trying to fix it? Funny how convenient it is for you to say we tampered with it so you can upcharge us for the repairs. BBB will know about this too. These guys are sloppy crooks. read more

Absolute worst company...and I really do mean that. I am a single mom of 2. I was without water for 11 days. When TATE finally came back, he unhooked my plumbing and never installed the garbage disposal. He was set to come back at 7:00 am the following day to complete laundry box, disposal installation, and replace shower heads. He never showed up and refused my calls. Company then sends out field supervisor, who takes pictures and leaves. The manager Kristin was not remotely friendly. It went from Tate saying he would replace the laundry box and needed a pipe fitting, to a $380 estimate to modify. When I attempted to advocate and find accountability, I was fired as a client. I still have a pot under my sink. Tate is still a liar, and the company continues to back inept and corrupt techs. read more
