Absolutely wonderful experience with Water Heaters Only! A couple of days ago, our water heater stopped, you know, heating water. We called the company that originally installed the water heater, and they did not respond to us, so we moved on. Water Heaters Only answered the phone immediately, and sent someone out within hours of our request. Only five hours passed between when we made the initial call and when our water heater was fixed. Spoke with Tom twice over the last few days. He was great, handled my water heater troubles quickly and was personable and professional. Tom answered my questions and assured me the tank size I wanted to order was sufficient for the size of the townhouse/ number of bathrooms. I had called 4 other places first, those with average reviews. The quotes varied from $1560 (all inclusive)- down to $1020 but didn't include the water heater unit (who does that!?). I had to deal with plumbers that were mean salty old men, and others that wanted me off the phone quickly. Luckily for me Tom was exceptionally ordinary. He didn't rush me and took his time. The gentleman that installed my water heater stayed in communication with me the whole time and even informed me of the correct temperature the heater should be set to and set it for me. So, only my experience with a quote, scheduling issues and they seemed really annoyed. Then they charge $65 for coming out to give me a quote which was different than over the phone price which is why I wanted to do an in person quote. The gentleman showed up ready to install a water heater and was confused and a little annoyed when I told him I just wanted an estimate. Then I get hit with oh by the way it's a $65 charge. First off, I don't really like when I need a new water heater. I've had water heaters replaced several times over the years so I do recognize good service. I have to compliment Water Heaters Only on their service. They came quickly, I thought he price was fair for a quality water heater and their installation was top notch with some extra details like a drain pan that included a drain to the floor just in case the heater should ever leak. The last couple times I have had water heaters replaced by other companies, they did not do these extra little touches. Don did an excellent job replacing our Rheem Water Heater with a Bradford and White unit as he did the last time 6 years ago. I have no complaints whatsoever about the quality of service. My only gripe was that this was under warranty yet the price was 10% greater than the previous non-warranty charge. Water heaters only technician "Don" was a pleasure to talk to as he is a Vet as well. He was honest in what he was telling me and did a great job in re-installing my new hot water heater. The heater was 5 years old and he told me that they typically last 6-8 years but seen them go out before then. My definitely did, it was leaking water like the Titanic. With the home owners warranty the complete install was $323, I can live with that if you ever priced a hot water heater minus the technician to install it, I say it was a good deal. They replaced our under warranty Rheem Water Heater a year ago. Which still costs us $450. Now a year later, I woke up to no hot water yesterday. The parts were under warranty but it was a $125 service charge. They replaced the rods. This morning we once again woke up with no hot water. My husband called and was given the 2-4 time slot. My husband was home prior to 2:00 only to find they had already been here and left. The person in dispatch claims to have told my husband noon - 2 and they now are unable to get to us until Monday morning. 10/17/2018. Needed a new water heater and after calling around, i decided to give "Water Heaters Only" the job. They were very friendly over the phone and they took the time to explain my install and pricing. Dan, my installer was there the next day and in the timeframe I was given. Unfortunaly after I made the appointment I discovered there had been a previous water leak sometime before I bought the house and the wall behind the heater had some pretty bad damage, so when Dan arrived he removed the water heater. After we inspected the area behind the drywall and determined there was no longer any leaks, he said to call when ready and he would come back to install the heater. I replaced all the drywall that afternoon and finished around 4:30. When I called they were able to get me in the next morning, that's pretty darn good! My warranty company, Fidelity National, sent out a work order to Water Heaters Only to replace our dead 65 gallon electric unit with a 75 gallon electric unit. The Technician was VERY helpful and was going to do research on a few 75 gallon units that would fit in our water heater build out based on brands they are contracted with that provide 75 gallon tanks. Within an hour I receive a call from the warranty company saying they were told it had to be a 50 gallon unit or we should cash out and install a gas or solar unit. My husband, who dealt with the tech, called back to the 800 number to find out what happened. He was told "we do NOT install anything above 50 gallon tanks". REALLY? You took a work order that was specifically for a 75 gallon tank when you do not offer that service. Now we are down for the weekend - cold showers! Shame on YOU Water heaters only! read more
