JB Air Conditioning is a great local company.  We first used them during the heat wave in the summer of 2022.  Our 16-year-old AC units weren't able to keep up with the heat, and JB did some quick maintenance to keep us going through the summer.  During the winter we started getting some quotes on getting our system replaced, and JB Air came through with a very good quote and level of service.  Plus they are a  local upcoming business, which is always something we look for. The JB crew came into the project changing out two AC units outside and one in the attic.  Plus they removed an old central house fan and added a new quiet cool system. Jonathan came in and out in less than 30 minutes to fix an issue with our heating not working. I reached out to another company about a year ago and they diagnosed a bad control board. Long story short, Jonathan performed a diagnostic on the furnace in the attic and discovered that 1 of 3 safety switches was bad. The previous tech said that my entire control board was bad, which was obviously not the case. I rely on Yelp and feel a good company should be recognized. Jonathan is awesome- don't be thrown by the fact he's young looking (I'm a teacher and he looks like one of my students )! Here's why I recommend him: 1, PROFESSIONALISM - quick, detailed estimate emailed to me after visit. It noted model of replacement unit, 10 year parts warranty, 2 year labor warranty. I had another handwritten vague estimate that only noted the tonnage of unit- no make or model. Not as helpful (and that company had great Yelp reviews). 2. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING- he was willing to come and install at 4 pm- 8:30 pm on a weekday. 3. Extremely COMMUNICATIVE- explained his diagnosis and even figured out why our other unit died- bent pipe when originally installed. He answered ALL our questions. Which brings me to the most important point- 4. KNOWLEDGEABLE- he may look like my high school students- BUT he's taught the HVAC course at the local community college!! He knows what he's doing. It doesn't matter how great a unit you buy if it's installed poorly-as evidenced by our old unit. Plus-Jonathan will check back with us in the winter and next summer to be sure all is working well. It's part of the deal. His pricing is competitive and his installation was done immaculately- and he personally did the work/ supervised. And he gives teacher and military discounts! Valarie is the person at JB air that coordinates the work, provides updates, and does the accounting. From the very first call I made to her when our air went out, It was obvious that this local owned and operated business was top notch. They have developed a very efficient and friendly business approach that keeps you updated. Jon did the initial assessment of the repairs needed, which turned out to be replacing the leaking condenser on one of our units. He and Valarie worked up an estimate, and sent that along immediately. The price seemed fair, so we scheduled the job. Once the part arrived, they did the install in a few hours. Everything worked great! A few weeks later, the same thing happened to our second unit. We called JB air back, and they came right over. They determined that it was the same problem of a leaking condenser due to corrosion. Their technicians Mike and Ruben are polite and easy to work with. They determined that the underlying problem was that our units were sitting too low with poor drainage, and this caused premature corrosion due to moisture accumulating on the bottom of the units. They gave a few options to get it fixed the right way. We ended up with a plan for disconnecting both units and setting them aside. They mixed and poured concrete, and adjusted our drain. This review is a bit late. I had JB come and check out my system back in July. It was bit of an emergency. Murrieta has had some crazy heat waves and my AC wasn't cooling. They responded right away and found my Freon was low and had a leak. I was thinking I was gonna have to replace my Central air system. Instead they told me to hold on and and after further inspection they found a leak. They filled my unit and told me to hold on on having my system replaced. They also installed a drip pan and sensor in my attic. The thing is they could have just said you need a new system period and charged me 3x the amount of what I paid. They were very thorough and worked late. Very nice guys and made my wife and I comfortable with their service . I highly recommend them for good quality service read more
