They were friendly and gave me the space i needed to look at the vehicles on the lot. They weren't pushy. I picked out a car to test drive and it drove really well. I decided that I was interested in purchasing it. Lee gave me the car fax for me to look over. Transaction was smooth and they took the time to listen to all of my questions and concerns. Just some general tips when buying a used car, look up when the certain parts of the vehicle are due to be replaced. I had a small issue with the door ajar light staying on and causing the battery to drain, with a little research I realized that was a normal repair needed for this vehicle at a certain mileage. You are buying a used car not a brand new one. There is bound to be repairs needed down the road. Just be prepared for that. Check the basics while you are there, like breaks, suspension, tires, etc. if you see an issue bring it up with them and they will be more then happy to replace/ fix. Overall my experience was great for a used car dealership. And the price was fair for the market value. read more

Stay away from this place and take your business elsewhere. They are unethical and dishonest and sell cars with known major issues. You can see here in Yelp about all the angry customers that have purchased cars with issues from this place and then have issues trying to get the owner, Jack Miles, to make the needed repairs that are covered under the warranty that comes with the car. The have an F rating on BBB and are not an affiliated BBB business. I have now taken a car back I purchased from J and M Imports on, 7/10/2025, twice towing the car back to the dealership. After giving them two attempts to make the needed repairs they have not done so. One issue is that you smell coolant when you turn on the heater. To fix this they disconnected or bypassed the heater so the smell is blocked but the heater no longer works. I believe the car has a major engine issue that they don't want to repair. They also have not performed the necessary test on the car to determine if the car has a major issue or not. I will now be filing complaints with several local and state agencies against this dealership and will obtain an attorney to try and get my money back. I got the car inspected at a local shop and was told everything was fantastic except one thing needed repairing. J&M did the work recently and I could not be happier. I purchased a newer model Hyundai Sonata from them. It worked well for about a month (2,000 miles) and then the engine blew on me on a trip in Vegas. The car was $10,000 and change, and the cost of having to extend the trip during the diagnosis, logistical plans to get back to Phoenix (rental car, Ubers, taxis, hotels, etc) cost another $5,000-10,000. When i called in to ask if there was anything they could do for me the owner said no, and i said i may open a lawsuit. He responded "good luck!" The no bs attitude that they attempt to portray is there to disarm you, but make no mistake, they really are blowing smoke up your tailpipe... The car we purchased was listed as previously owned by someone who was very meticulous. I should have taken the fact that the car was filthy as a sign to turn around and leave immediately, but I didn't. I knew the risks of buying a car with no warranty, and yet I still bought it. When we took a test drive there wasn't very much gas in the car, so we made it a short test drive, that was a big mistake. When you go here and you test drive a vehicle, put some gas in it and drive it for a long time, take it on the freeway and go fast, test the brakes, get your own mechanic to look at it. After we purchased the car we went straight to the gas station to fill it up, and then the car wouldn't start. After pumping the gas a few times we did get it to start. On the way home the ABS light came on. It turned out that there was a crack in the brake fluid overflow tank connection, so we had to order the part to repair it. The next day after the repair, while driving, the check engine light came on. After having the codes read, it indicated that there was a bad catalytic converter. We spoke with j&m and we're told that they could get us cheap parts and have their mechanic look at it, but that it really wasn't a big deal because it's just the emissions system. We declined to do so because on the day we purchased the car, their mechanic came to look at the upside down backup camera, and the man who came was so high I was surprised he could function. Not really someone I want touching my car. Because the catalytic converter was still under warranty we chose to go to Ford. Ford charges you $180 for diagnostics which goes to the cost of the repair if the repair is under warranty, thankfully it was. However, the mechanics at the dealership informed me that there were markings all over the engine as if it had come from a salvage yard, we were not told this. We were however, told that the oil had been changed, but it in fact had not. The motor mounts were bad, the engine had once been on fire, the air filter was melted, there was a bad EVAP control valve on the catalytic converter, and the catalytic converter was bad. Had I kept driving it, it would have likely caused more damage. Everything has been repaired and we hope that that's the end of it, but if it's not I'll be sure to come back and update further. Now I'm sure they're going to attempt to discount my review in some way, but I would like for you to take a look back at some of the other reviews, in which they call women hysterical and various other things. Calling women hysterical is a typical go-to for men who are trying to talk down to you. And I can assure you this is the type of man to talk down to women, their offices are covered in Trump trash, flags, religion, etc... I'm sure you know the type. I would also like to encourage you to look at their Yelp reviews and their reviews on the Better Business Bureau site, which they are not a part of You really are taking a huge risk here if you purchase a car from these people, I've seen several other reviews mentioning bad emissions systems, so it seems to be a pattern for them, selling cars with this type of issue. I believe they knew full well what was wrong with this car, they purposely left it with very little gas knowing that people aren't likely to add more. I believe that they do this after clearing error codes. If you don't have enough gas to drive around for very long the codes won't have time to come back up. Do your homework & inspect the F*%#^ out of anything you're considering buying!! I bought a vehicle listed as 4 x 4 & later found out the whole drive shaft for four wheel drive was missing. The odometer dash display was in Arabic & the guy insisted they had tried to change it to English. I was looking online how to change it or convert that system into miles... couldn't figure it out feeling rushed. As I was checking things on the car, the sales guy just watching us like hawks like we were going to steal the car. He told me to hurry up cause he had customers waiting. I asked him if he wanted to sell this car today or not and let me have whatever time I needed. I am a female & did the best I knew how to do but ends up, I'm not the greatest at inspecting cars (go figure). So by the time I had the vehicle home (I do not live anywhere close to Phoenix) & within that first week found out about the rear drive shaft was missing & got the display to read its mileage in English.... yep you guessed it. My paperwork did not have the correct mileage & that made my 500 mile warranty way gone. And also found out one lug nut was off and tinkling around in the rim cover center cap & 2 more on that same tire were super loose!! I'm lucky I made it home safely. Went to check out a car that was listed on CarGurus. I initially reached out through the Cargurus website and within a day had a response saying the vehicle was still available. The dealership called me and a man named Lee left a message saying that we could come check out the car. We get to the dealership and it is oddly positioned on the street which is okay but because of this weird positioning, the parking spots are weirdly angled. It is likely if someone not paying attention when they turn it they will hit the car that is parked on the end as its space cuts into that side of the road. There is practically nowhere to park but the lot is overloaded with cars, tight-packed, and small (#1). We park and go to the office. There is no signage on the door except for a paper in the window with operations hours. The window was also tinted so if you weren't looking closely you would have missed it. We open the door and walk. The building is a mess ( #2) there were packages all over the place, broken blinds handing off the door, and the office where Lee was sitting was covered in papers, there was also a controversial poster around ( everyone has the will to have their beliefs but it was coming off a little prejudice against certain minorities). I spoke and told him that we were interested in looking at a specific car and we reached out the other day about it. He looks up and says yep it's still available and you can go look at it, it's out back. It seemed like Lee didn't want to move from his chair, give us the keys, or anything (#3). So we're still standing looking at him like "Are you going to get up and at least show us where it's at give us some keys." Fi Ally gets up and goes and grabs the keys and leads us to the back door where the car is parked. He gives his spill about dos and when looking at the car he leaves us. We get to the car and it's blocked in by 2 other cars and there's barely any space to get the driver-side door open. The car looks okay inside and is clean, with no visible damage. We trying to do a thorough inspection of the car and because it is so tightly packed we can't fully open the trunk or any of the doors. I go inside to ask him tome the cars that are blocking the cars that we want to look and he does. We ask him (Lee) about taking it for a test drive and he mentions okay let go talk number then you can take it out (#4). We were just looking at the car so initially with the intention of purchasing but taking everything into account I was a little skeptical so it wasn't something that was going to get done that day. The reason he gave was talking numbers first was because he didn't want people test-driving cars that they couldn't afford (is it a valid reason? Maybe but it's a low bar dealership so the cars there were super expensive). Whether this was also a factor or not I am a person of color and pretty young which leads back to #2 was he stereotyping... from that encounter we didn't want to look at the car anymore handed him the key back and left. It didn't really seem like Lee was interested in selling the car and was very unmotivated. I would not recommend this dealership as it seemed like their business is a little sketchy in operation. read more

I called this shop when I found a 2005 Volvo XC70 on Craigslist. I spoke with the gentleman letting him know that I would be there around 5:45pm knowing they closed at 6:00pm. He said they would be closed by 6:30, and if I could make it before hand, they would show me the car. This was the third time I called to get information on the vehicle, because he was "busy with a client." Let's note that he didn't take my information (phone number, name etc.) I finally got to the dealership, and was not greeted with a friendly face. He just simply threw the key towards me and refused to let me drive the vehicle. (Keep in mind I had full cash on me to buy this vehicle outright.) The vehicle smelled like cigarette smoke and was NOT clean as you would expect from a dealership. I can't tell you how it drove because I wasn't allowed to drive it. I went back into the office key in hand and before I could say anything, he wanted me to "be on the same page" and expect to pay $5,400 out the door FOR A 2005 VOLVO with 151k miles. More than a thousand dollars over asking price online and more than $2k over KBB and Edmunds. (Keep in mind I had cash in hand and the vehicle was advertised for $4,250 plus tax, title, and license) I could care less if your cars are overpriced. At least pretend like you care about your customers. I would've purchased that car then and there if I was treated with respect, and they actually negotiated. My son and I just purchased a 2007FJ cruiser with 193,000 miles. The vehicle is in great shape two days after we purchased the FJ the alternator went out. Ace was our car salesman came within 45 minutes and picked up the vehicle. They fixed it within two days and had it back to us. The vehicle is running great! We absolutely love it! They didn't give us any issues about repairing it. I am very happy with my purchase. I am very happy with the service I received. Lee LITERALLY demanded that I not talk to his other customers in the waiting room who I was casually informing that they could get a $50 inspection down the street at my mechanic. I was shocked that he would try to control a customer like that. Lee hates it when customers ask questions (as another customer noted above). He acts irritated and moody so you'll back off. That won't fly with me. I know what a manipulation looks like. So he labeled me a trouble maker. I asked if he was trying to make me walk out and he said LEAVE, STAY, I DON'T CARE BUT I TOLD YOU NOT TO TALK TO CUSTOMERS. I instantly dumped the keys in his hand and started walking to my car. There was a yelling match along the way that outdoor customers heard too. Bottom line: Be willing to be labeled a troublemaker. Ask questions. Don't be intimidated into silence by a bully who prefers that you take your chances and shut up. It's YOUR purchase and you have to live with the car. I told my mechanic I wouldn't be in for an inspection and told him the story and he agreed...RUN! Now let me tell you about 3 cars I looked at (all SUVs under $5k). First I learned how to do a basic inspection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDv5bUR_Plo&t=3s - #1 (2009 Hyundai Santa Fe) had a muffler so corroded at the seam that pieces would fall off if you touched it. You can see this easily VISUALLY by just looking underneath. It also smelled horrible. I turned on the A/C and realized the smell was pumping thru the system. I stopped there. - #2 (2008 Kia Sportage) had blue smoke out the exhaust at start up and made a squealing noise at start up. That was enough for me. - 3 (2006 Nissan Murano) - I didn't do a full inspection but a cursory inspection only found a left blinker not working, but even that bugged me because these cars are legally supposed to pass a BASIC safety inspection before they are road worthy. That's the one I was going to have inspected on my dime independently. Lee doesn't want customers looking that closely. He got really mad. Next day update: Jason just called me and told me that he read my review and told me I am not to return to the property -- not to apologize but to tell me that if I return to the property that they will CALL THE POLICE ON ME. What thick headed person doesn't understand that my review means that I will NEVER return? I just called the police because that call was retaliation intimidation and the Phoenix police said I can get a retraining order. Seriously, who are these people? The worst dealership I have ever been too. I saw one of their trucks posted on Craigslist and asked to see it when I got out there and was told I wasn't allowed to see it because i didn't get the okay by Lee, the owner. I drove all the way out from Mesa, 40 min drive so I was upset. I went inside to talk to Lee about another truck I had seen and asked to test drive and he told me I wasn't allowed to unless I had money in my hands. Watch out the fees...This place charge ridiculous doc fee. You do your research, compare prices and check book values before returning in earnest. You meet with the salesperson, negotiate a price and shake on a deal. Then you head to the office to sign a contract. But fees you may not be aware of could increase your final cost significantly. The so-called documentary and administrative fees are supposed to cover costs associated with processing paperwork and registering the car. In Arizona, the fees are not capped and differ from dealer to dealer. State laws also don't mandate when fees have to be disclosed to buyers; in many cases, buyers aren't told until after they have agreed to purchase a car and are ready to sign a contract.
