J Bistro is Korean and Chinese fusion restaurant, although it leans more Chinese. The interior is nicely decorated and quite clean. There are tables for small and large parties. The service was quick and the servers were attentive. We had a large party so lots of dishes were ordered, but the main dishes that I took note of were the Twice Cooked Pork Belly, String Bean with Ground Pork, Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp, and Scallion Pancake. I love Twice Cooked Pork Belly, having had my first taste at an amazing Szechuan restaurant at my undergraduate institution. I have been looking for a restaurant that sells this dish in Atlanta AND makes it well. The Twice Cooked Pork Belly here was not bad, it was thinly cut pork belly slices, which I liked. I think there could have been more flavor and spice to it, though. The String Bean with Ground Pork was yummy!!! I love getting green/string beans at Chinese restaurants. I also liked the Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp. The sauce was good and the shrimp was pretty large. I was very disappointed in the Scallion Pancake. The waitress asked if I wanted to pan-fry or fry (I assume in oil?) the pancake and I asked for pan-fried. The Scallion Pancake was not crispy at all and it should have been. It was kind of floppy and it did not have enough scallions in it. Overall, I think that this is a nice Chinese restaurant. There are lots of options to pick from (including some Korean foods). I am not the biggest fan of Chinese food, but I would consider coming back here to try their other dishes.

Always a must stop when we're in town! Portions are huge and we always leave more than satisfied. Wonton soup and Dan Dan noodles were very fresh and flavorful. Staff is always attentive and welcoming. We enjoyed the beef scallion rolls and crab rangoon as well.

Came by on a Sunday evening and it was quite busy for dinner, and barely staffed. Took awhile to get our waiter's attention and food took longer than expected. Water boiled fish: quite good, tender fish, large portion, but could def be spicier with some numbing spice. Beef rolls: tasted fine but wish there was cucumber in it like the photo to add some textural contrast. Spicy wontons: tasted fine, but skin was very thick and not much filling. Pea sprouts: can't go wrong with this veggie dish although would have appreciated some more garlic flavor. Not bad though!

I have walked past J-Bistro a hundred times now without any interest in trying until my friends started talking about it recently. I finally got a chance to check it out with my girls last month. Everything here is served family-style which is how it ought to be. I love trying a little bit of alot of things! Food: * Hot & Boiled Fish ($24.95): Yum! I highly recommend ordering this massive dish. It's so tasty to eat with rice. * String Beans with Ground Pork ($14.95) * Chicken Lo Mein ($14.95) * Scallion Pancake ($5.95) Service: Excellent. The staff here is very accommodating and friendly. We love the food and J-Bistro has yet to disappoint. The vibes are casual with moderate noise. There are booths and tables in the open area. We have opted for booths for a slightly more private dining experience. I'm a huge fan and can't wait to be back to try other menu items.

Update- ordered UberEats from them last night to give second delivery try. Awful. Beef and peppers, snow tips, chicken and green beans, and hot and sour soup. As of this morning, about to toss in garbage. We barely ate it for dinner last night as it was not good. Was so awful that we ate a few bites, put in fridge but neither of us want to eat it...so in the trash. Not sure why it tasted so good when we went to restaurant to try for the first time. Maybe it is a different chef who does delivery orders. I retract my recommendation as it is a complete waste of money...no consistency. At least for my tastes. Seriously...the fast takeout place that we order "cheap" Chinese food on Roswell Road is a gazillion times better for fraction of the price. Not even sure if I want to waste a meal by dining in the restaurant. But this review is for the delivery. Waste of money. Pictures are of the food in the takeout containers as I was throwing in garbage.

I think we just found our new go-to spot for Chinese takeout!! We ordered the Mongolian Beef, Kung-Pow Chicken, and the pan-seared Potstickers. Everything was delicious!!!!! The Mongolian Beef was cooked to perfection, and the abundance of onions and scallions made this dish perfectly balanced. The Kung-Pow Chicken came with plenty of veggies, and the added zucchini was a nice touch. It was swimming in a succulent sauce that had great flavor. The portions are giving- we ordered 2 entrees and one appetizer, and we had enough left over to eat for dinner the next night too. I'm really looking forward to eating it again for dinner tonight lolll :) I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for good Chinese in the area. I'll definitely be back!

J bistro is our go to Chinese restaurant. The service is always quick, and the food is authentic, delicious, and flavorful. We've brought our friends and family here, and always had a great time. The price is not cheap compared to other Chinese places, but I think it's well worth it.

First time trying this place and I still can't believe it took us this long. As soon as you walk in you're hit with such yummy smells and can clearly see into the kitchen in the back where all the woks are being used. There were plenty of seats available from booths, tables and large family style tables. The service was great, everyone was so polite and we never had to ask for refills on our water. My husband and I shared an appetizer and 2 entrees - and honestly, the portions were so big that this could have fed 4 people lol. We definitely want to come back to try the other dishes, probably in a bigger group setting so we can maximize our ordering. A lot of tables around us were getting the black bean noodles and sweet and sour pork so that's at the top of my list. Food/price: - Braised Beef Scallion Rolls (~$9): appetizer, comes as 4 pieces. This to me tasted like the beef version of the peking duck you get with the tortilla style carb and not the bao bun. The flat bread it was wrapped in is flaky, there's plenty of meat and it was very good. - Hot and Boiled Beef (~$20): comes in a HUGE shallow bowl with so much beef, napa cabbage slices, and zucchini. It's not as spicy/numbing as I thought it would be, maybe not enough Sichuan peppercorn? I think I would ask for it extra spicy next time. But even still, I thought the flavors were good and this paired really well with the chong qing chicken bc that was a bit saltier and spicier than this dish. Comes with shareable rice. - Chonqing Spicy Chicken (~$20): sooo good! Great portions and flavoring. While it's not super crispy, the batter is light and the meat is juicy and there's plenty of it. Overall, really enjoyed our meal here. Everything we had was great, can't wait to come back!

Ordered a variety of dishes to be shared. All the dishes were so flavorful and great portions. The service was friendly and fast as well. We really enjoyed the snow pea tips, tofu, spicy fish, and the spicy chicken dish. Overall, I would definitely came here for family style meals.

Super tasty Chinese food! Definitely one of the best Chinese places I've tried around Atlanta. The cumin lamb was tender and extremely flavorful with each savory bite. The fish dry pot featured crispy fish and an assortment of various vegetables that complemented the spicy, numbing mala undertones particularly well. Will come back to try other items on the menu!

THE BEST MONGOLIAN BEEF. This is a Northern Chinese / Korean Chinese food restaurant. The owner has been successful in several restaurants on the Northside of Atlanta. We recognized the cook (open kitchen) and the waiter from the open kitchen at the Old China Inn that used to be about 2 miles away in Chamblee. There are menus in 3 different languages (English, Chinese, Korean). There is some crossover of dishes, but there are unique items in the Chinese and Korean menus. If you love Mongolian Beef, then get prepared to have the best Mongolian beef you've ever eaten. The only Mongolian beef that I've ever eaten as good as this was a long time ago at a place far away (Wang's in Gardena Ca). The (medium spicy) "Gan Bong" ("Dry Stir Fry" style) shrimp (large shell-on shrimp, no head) from the Chinese menu at $28.25 is crazy good. Unless you can read Chinese or Korean, Keep your eyes open for other interesting dishes on the other tables to ask your waiter about. read more

If you're searching for an authentic Chinese restaurant, you can't go wrong with J-Bistro, which is conveniently located in the H-mart plaza. The spicy dishes had a nice kick to it. Loved this place! It is by far one of the best Chinese-Korean restaurants in the area, and I cannot leave this review without saying a huge thanks to the staff for being so welcoming! I believe it was the manager there (male) who was consistent with coming by our table, explaining the items on the menu, and just had such a great attitude! And the food was so well-crafted -- flavorful, hot and fresh! We ordered the K1. and K28. , and wow! I thought they were a perfect serving for two, and I am leaving quite satisfied! I love this spot! This is my second time trying J-Bistro, and the food is always delicious. The first time I did takeout, and it was terrific. This time I dined in, and it was even better coming straight from the kitchen! What I got: - Hot and boiled fish (5/5): one of their most famous dishes. It was so delicious and not too heavy like the traditional spicy fish dish. There was less oil (which I preferred) than the classic style. The fish was so delicate and tasty! - Honey glazed walnut shrimp (5/5): this dish surprised me! When I have had this dish before, it is usually too sweet for me. This one was perfectly balanced with sweetness and savoriness. They added caramelized walnuts which were a perfect touch. - Sichuan spicy chicken (4/5): another great dish, but it was a little bit too oily/fried for me. The dish is supposed to be like that, so if you enjoy that, then I think this dish will be perfect for you. - String bean with ground pork (4/5): the fresh veggies are what stole the show. The string beans were nicely seasoned with the addition of minced pork added on top. Sometimes the veggies at Chinese restaurants can be a hit or miss, but these were good! - Pork baby ribs gangou (4/5): I always love this dish, and this one was wonderful. Again, the veggies added were tasty, and I enjoyed the added bits of potato. I wasn't a big fan of the pork (a personal preference), but I would for sure get it again with beef or another protein! Overall: A beautiful restaurant that I highly recommend. The food is traditional with fantastic spices! Many of their classic dishes are from the Sichuan area, which is known for spicy food, but they have an assortment of dishes to try. Additionally, all staff members are extremely lovely and welcoming. I can't wait to go back here and try more of their yummy food! COVID measures: *ONLY indoor seating NO outdoor* All staff members wore masks, and there were plastic separators throughout the restaurant. All COVID measures were taken, and I felt very comfortable with the indoor seating. read more

Please come support this amazing gem! This place is at a perfect location for you to grab something to eat, go get boba or even go grocery shop afterwards since it's in the same pavilion as H-mart! We got the spicy crispy chicken, dan dan noodles, eggplant with garlic sauce and the szechuan hot boiled beef. ALL dishes were delicious! Great portions at an affordable price!! And, if you come during lunch you'll get a soup (egg drop or hot & sour) and a egg roll. The restaurant is super spacious and beautiful with an open kitchen. They definitely didn't spare any money opening this place. They also practice safety protocols with Covid-19! They have these plastic barriers that cover all around the tables! The owner is amazingly sweet and friendly. We ordered the dan dan noodles and he even made it a point to come over and help us mix the noodles into the sauce. Def will become a regular here! read more

Hand down the best Chinese restaurant. The cleanliness, service, food and ambiance were all impeccable. The server was extremely attentive, provided extra seating as needed, extra to-go boxes, plates, etc for our large birthday celebration. The food was so tasty and freshly made. Portions are large, I believe it's meant for sharing. The prices are unbelievable for the amount of food we received. I tried a pomegranate wine that was very delicious. I highly recommend and will be coming back again :) read more

I stopped here to pick up takeout and let me say this place was amazing. They have a large menu of delicious selections. I had the crab Rangoon, Mongolian beef and beef with broccoli. The beef was flavorful and tender. The Rangoon had a good amount of filling and I loved it all. Parking is easy. They follow strict COVID protocol which is comforting in these times.... complete with dividers for the dine in guests. I will definitely return and highly recommended that you do the same....you will not be disappointed. What a great find. read more

Just a non-food-related story: On another occasion, I happened to be parked in front of J-Bistro. I had takeout from another restaurant, and needed to feed my boys (they were getting hangry), so I just had them step out of the car and fed them along the sidewalk, Asian squat style. Evidently the owner/manager saw me from inside and kindly brought out two chairs for us to sit on, and told us to take our time In times like this, generous acts are that much more appreciated. As if the food wasn't reason enough to support this place.... read more

Sorry guys but I didn't take any pictures of my food. I have been here twice and I can say that the food and service is top notch. I really love how attentive the staff was. This time they were closing soon but we were welcomed and treated as if it was the middle of the day for lunch. No long wait and the portions were shareable. I ordered the Spicy Noodle Soup and it has seafood in it. It was so tasty but I love chili oil and that took it to the next level. The hubby ordered a chicken dish. He can't remember the name but he enjoyed it. I recommend a visit for some fine cuisine. They were so nice and the food was so good! I had to say something. My bad about the pics. read more

I am not surprised this place has 5 stars at all - it was amazing in every way possible!! To start off, our server was soooo friendly. He explained the menu really well and was super personable - I loved him so much!! I wish I got his name so I could give him credit. We started off each getting a soup - I got the hot and sour and my fiance got the egg drop. They were only $1.95 and very, very good. I am picky when it comes to hot & sour and this hit the spot!! Then for our entree we split the spicy wok pork short ribs. SOOOOO good. The flavor was amazing and I asked for extra numbing peppers and they delivered!! Not to mention that the service was extremely quick. They had our entree out in less than 10 minutes! I need to try more restaurants in that parking lot because so far I am impressed with both this and Snackboxe!!! read more

We eat here a few times a month. Great family run restaurant. You can see and taste the attention to detail. The open kitchen is a show in itself. Lots to love in the menu. Make sure to look at the pictures and reviews on yelp to make sure you get what you want. It's more on the authentic side but there are americanized options. read more

I am going to keep this simple. When you order food to go, the restaurant should really make sure all the food you ordered are there. If you can't get this basic common sense practice into your business, then you don't have the food quality and taste in place either. This was proven to me during my first try at this place. Such lack thereof transferred into the cooking as well. read more

First off I would like to give Mr. Lin a very special THANK YOU! He gave my boyfriend and I exceptional service from the phone call to the visit inside. We had the AMAZING Hot and Boiled Fish **HIGHLY RECOMMEND** and we also had the Spicy Sichuan Chicken and for the appetizer Pan-Fried Popstickers Amazing as well. Simply amazing. J-Bistro's grand opening was back in March and I had the chance to try it before it had to close temporarily due to COVID-19. I am glad it finally reopened because the food is simply amazing. Just look at the pictures I have taken. Every bite makes my jaw shivers and melts in my mouth. Perfect temperature and right seasoning. You can see the chef cooking through a glass window. Our waitress (forgot her name) is on top of her game; she asked if we were doing okay, filled our beverage without us asking and also if we would like to try any other dishes. The manger/gentleman came by and asked if there is anything else we recommend and would like to see improvements. *Thumbs Up* The atmosphere is toward upscale Chinese restaurants and family-friendly. This is now my go-to Chinese restaurant in the area. You won't regret! read more

Honestly, the food was very bland. Even something as simple as pot sticker. It came out cold and flavorless. Seafood noodle soup is also very flavorless. And the spicy chicken... I truly believe un seasoned chicken is a lot tastier than what they gave me. read more

This place is amazing! My girlfriend and I have been looking for an authentic chinese restaurant for a while now & It is safe to say that J bistro has definitely fulfilled our craving and more! This is a very beautiful restaurant with a great ambience. We had the hot and boiled fish, Sichuan spicy chicken and the pan fried potstickers for the appetizer. The hot and boiled fish..OMG!...is LITERALLY to die for. The Fish just melts in your mouth and leaves you wanting more after every bite and don't let me start about the sauce with veggies in it! The Sichuan spicy chicken was also really good, the peppers and the crunchiness of the chicken...that harmony was more than perfect ! I want to personally thank Mr Lin the owner of the restaurant; his service was beyond exquisite and we would definitely be back for more items on the menu. My husband and I visited within the final hour of business for the day and even though it was close to 9:30 and the end of dine in the owner still allowed us to sit and eat. We were the only customers at the time. Everything we had was great. My husband had the shrimp lettuce wrap( i tried it and was delicious) and kung pao chicken with rice. I had the crispy duck with vegetable lo mein. I am so in love with this place and will definitely return. The staff was great. I cant stop telling people about this place and the delicious food. Excited to return to try something else. read more

We have been following Mr. Lin for 15 years. From China Inn, to Liu Fu and now here at J Bistro! He has both traditional Chinese food as well as the American favorites! Recommendations: Crunchy Spicy Chicken, Sautéed String Beans, Potstickers They are all fantastic! He's doing take-out and you really should go and check him out! read more

I was craving some spicy Chinese food so I came here for dinner one evening. I got the hot and boiled fish and the spicy wok fried (ganguo) intestines (it's not on the menu but they special-made it for me ;). Both dishes were well made and delicious. It was spicy but so good! I couldn't stop eating and totally over-ate because the flavors were so on point. Service was great! My servers were polite and attentive. It was a really great meal. I enjoy going to this nice and very clean restaurant serving authentic Chinese foods. Due to Covid-19, they offer takeout and delivery; and they have made a lot of effort redesigning the interior seatings with appropriate safety dividers for proper social distancing. Tte staff members are very welcoming, nice and efficient. The restaurant is well located, easy to access, and with plenty of free parking spaces. read more

I had the Mala Xiang Guo - Beef (dry pot) and the Szechuan Pork. It came with one big bowl of white rice. I was disappointed as it wasn't nearly as flavorful as I expected. It was salty and watery. I wished there were options to add toppings into the Mala Xiang Guo like mushrooms, fish balls, noodles, etc. It was disappointing overall. read more

J bistro is our go to place when we are craving for authentic and delicious Chinese food. We have been going to this place since it was opened. Our go to orders usually are Pocket Tofu, Chicken dry pot (from the Chinese menu), shredded pork with bamboo shoots, snow pea tip leaves. Make sure to ask questions on to get clarity on what the food you are about to order so to avoid any misunderstanding on what you expect. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

She made a rich golden chicken noodle soup and sealed in the flavor, heat, and aroma with a layer of chicken oil; and packed the other ingredients separately so that her husband could have a fresh meal as he studied. This dish and style of preparation/presentation eventually became known as Crossing-the-Bridge noodles and is categorized as an intangible cultural heritage for the region. Similar to hot pot, you're supposed to cook the individual ingredients in the hot broth when it all comes out; however, the pot isn't constantly cooking and it should all go in when it arrives at the table. The original broth is really flavorful, while remaining delicate and hearty, and all the various components go well together. The only thing is that the broth does cool down relatively quickly once you start putting in all the other ingredients, so some things weren't as hot as I would've liked. But, overall, I enjoyed my experience! Service was wonderful and there's always parking in this plaza.

It was just as delicious as it sounds. 2nd visit - Tacos The pastor con queso and the shrimp al pastor with cheese, onions, and al pastor sauce. You're welcome. 3rd visit - Fajitas Fajitas Texanas, with steak chicken and shrimp. There are 7 different combinations of sides that you can get. We got white rice, salad, and charro beans. This can also be shared, which my wife and I did. Speaking of the charro beans, they have the best beans I have ever had. For drinks I got the supreme regular mango margarita. My wife got strawberry. Both great. Service Food came out fast, but other than that the service was a little slow. Our waitress was nice, but it did seem that she forgot about us for a little while. The food was so good that I forgave it, plus at the end of the day I got everything I needed. Verdict If you're looking for amazing food and drinks, this is absolutely the place to get it. I recently visited J-Bistro for the first time and had a good experience. The staff was welcoming, and we were seated right away despite it being the weekend. The restaurant has a spacious layout with several large tables, which is ideal for groups and families. Service was also prompt and efficient. I recently visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner, but unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. Right after we sat down, our waitress immediately asked if we were ready to order, which felt a bit rushed. Despite explaining we needed a moment, she hovered over us and checked in about ordering every few minutes. This made us feel pressured, and I ended up picking the first thing I saw just to get it over with. The food did come out quickly, which was a plus, but when we finished, we were promptly handed the check and to-go boxes, as if they wanted us to leave right away. The restaurant wasn't busy, and they didn't close soon, so I'm not sure why there was such a rush. It really took away from what I hoped would be a nice, relaxing birthday dinner. I have to declare that this post is not in favor to this newly open Chinese Sichuan Restaurant because its cleaness and quick foods delivery sevices during this Pandemic social distancing period. The J. Bistro is one of my best -pick restaurants in Korean Super H Mart on Peachtree industry Blvd. I happened to find out this restaurant still open and take to-go order for its Chinese menu. The Dan Dan noodle is must for my dinner when I am craving for noodle dishes. The combination of scallion , Beijing Dark black bean paste and fatty diced Pork Belly brings out the best favor for your bite when it comes with the Home-made Korean style noodle. The second course is the twice cooked pork with Leek and red pepper also Delicious and tasty. Sizable dishes good enough for 3 adults. Will come back for different dishes. read more

Liked : bigger size of food, affordable dishes, and home cook style meals. We loved everything about J -bistro restaurant! The place was clean and dining table with newly installed glasses to practicing social distance was disinfected after each client but most importantly, the foods we ordered was great. The snow peas with garlic tasted so yummy, the golden brown fresh garlic added more flavor to the dish. The other dish was Sichuan spicy oil fish Fillet. The flavors of this fish was out of control--super spicy, super intense, super delicious. The manage was very helpful.He explained how the dishes were prepared and recommended several dishes for to-go . Well done. We definitely will come back . Will recommend to friends. read more

This place is one of our favorites...the manager and owner always take great care of us, especially our dad...I've said it before and I stand by my statement, this is the best place for jajjangmyeon and jjampong in the city, maybe in the southeast! These dishes are Chinese dishes made by Chinese folks who grew up in Korea...there is a special on Netflix dedicated to these noodle dishes that I'll link to below...hand made, pan fried dumplings, jellyfish salad, jajjangmyeon, and jjampong...we were taking pics of the menu on the way out and the manager chased my dad down and handed him a copy to take home...if you've asked me for food recs in Atlanta, especially Asian, 99% chance I've recommended J's! read more

J-Bistro has been amazing with everything going on. I picked up twice as well as used Doordash. J-Bistro's service is amazing and the food is even better. I loved their potstickers as well as their Sesame chicken. It was perfectly marinated and not too salty or sweet. Pair that with the house fried rice and you will be satisfied and full. I usually do not post reviews but with Covid - 19 going on I wanted to support J Bistro as they are professional and have great service. They can also deliver if you live close by. read more

J bistro is a Chinese restaurant located near the Hmart supermarket. If you are craving for Chinese food, I would highly recommend this place. I have eaten at several Chinese restaurants and would say the food every delicious. In addition, the food portion is good. read more
