One of the most esthetically pleasing Korean BBQ places I've been to. It's an all you can eat spot with an extensive variety of meats to choose from. The quality of the meats is A1. Don't let me get started on the side options they offer! They provide substantial assortment of sides that are all savory & delectable. On top of the delicious food they also have a full bar available for your enjoyment. They have complementary parking available so no worries about adding an extra cost to the food adventure. If you sit at the tables with a grill it is an "all you can eat" option for everyone at the table only, no exceptions. If you desire to eat from the single meal menu there is bar seating available. There is a two hour limit per table but that is more than enough time to get your fill & moneys worth. I had heard that Thrill Korean Steak and Bar was a more "high-end" and modern AYCE KBBQ spot, so I was intrigued by it. It is really spacious inside and has a more luxurious vibe than most KBBQ spots. I went really late at night (near closing time) so it was really empty and quiet, but the servers were still attentive. We ordered the Egg Soufflé, Beef Brisket, Pork Belly, Ramen, and other dishes I cannot recall. To start off, I enjoyed the taste of the Beef Brisket and Pork Belly, although I will say that these basic meats start to taste the same at every KBBQ spot unless it is a really top tier a la carte restaurant. I really liked the Ramen as well (it had nothing special in it, but I just like ramen), which I think was the Shin Ramyun brand. I was not a fan of their Egg Soufflé... it tasted like an overcooked omelette more than the typical steamed egg you would get at a KBBQ restaurant. Overall, I think this is a solid place for KBBQ. It is not the best, but it is not bad. It is expensive to eat here, especially for the dinner option. After living for 7 years in Korea, I'm very particular about my Korean "all you can eat" BBQ restaurants. Sandy Springs is blessed with three very good Korean BBQ restaurants: Thrill Steakhouse and Bar, Iron Age in the Prado and Top Korean BBQ and Hot Pot. Thrill Steakhouse tells you up front that it is "all you can eat" but has a major caveat, it's all you can eat in two hours and how much you can actually eat is dictated by the level of attention and service of your wait staff. In our case we had 7 people and two grills but most of the time a single waiter was only cooking on a one grill. The "ban chon" side dishes were great and plentiful but I've never tried less variety of meat at this kind if Korean restaurant and that was a direct result of the slow pace and the limited use of both grills. The BBQ meat we ate was great. The side dishes were better than offered at most other Korean BBQ places and the ambiance and restaurant was first class in appearance. Just disappointed in the service and the sense that the meat was being rationed and deliberately slow. Since the 20 percent service charge (over $100) was automatically added because of the size of our party, there was no incentive to up their service game. Bottom line. I felt rushed. I felt rationed and I wasn't comfortable. I think I would have had a much better experience if our group was smaller. I'd go back but only with a party of four or less. read more

We lucked out finding this AYCE option honestly at midnight. The place has more of a modern, clubby vibe compared to your typical KBBQ spot. It's spacious and lively, tucked in a strip mall with plenty of parking, and the surrounding area's walkable if you want to wander after (during the day hours) Service was fair and friendly even though we came in late. We got to sample a ton of appetizers and banchan (I don't know why I ate so much egg souffle). They offer a solid selection of cuts. *All the pork belly's pretty decent, and the sauces paired well and kept the meal interesting with the drinks flowing. This is an AYCE type of Korean BBQ. So basically you get a grill at the center of the table and they keep bringing you meat to grill (yourself). The area is in a strip mall and it's free parking. There are a lot of walkable areas so parking and walking around after a dinner would be something that you could do. The vibe at the restaurant is super nice. They have an upstairs area so there is a lot of space inside the establishment. There is a lot of light so even though the decorations are dark wood, it's still bright. On the weekends it's the standard dinner pricing (the Donner and weekend price is $50 a person). Everybody needs to be able to eat the same, so just be aware that everybody at the table has to be on the same page. And also, there's no carry out for all you can. They bring the meat two at a time, and they bring a bunch of different accommodations in the forms of salad and kimchi and wraps and such. The appetizers are coming out hot so you have to think about ordering those. But it's pretty straightforward, order all to meat you want. I like the fact that The waitresses and waiters will want to grill for you between food and help you cook your food for you. I bet you may need it but it's nice that they actually try. That's a really good touch. For the appetizers I tried the Korean fried chicken, spicy, and I tried the chicken dumplings on my first go. The spicy chicken was fried chicken tossed in a spicy sauce and it was pretty tasty and savory with the proper spice. The dumplings didn't come with a sauce but I dipped mine in some yum yum sauce and that made it good. The egg souffle was also pretty good. Very light and airy. For my meat I tried to different cut steak and to be brisket to start off. I also tried the Hawaiian steak and the spicy beef bulgogi. I also dabbled in plenty of peppers /onions/ and mushrooms so they helped accommodate the meal. Aside from the Hawaiian (which may have had a little too much sweet for me), Everything was good. The bulgogi was kind of fatty but had plenty of favor. I ordered a few orders of brisket, they add sesame oil and a salt and pepper blend and it hits every time! My friend had never really done Korean barbecue and while I was in town, we decided to try this location. It's in a strip mall, but was in a great location for us as we were staying close. The restaurant has an upstairs and downstairs so it's very spacious. Our server was great very friendly came around very often and made sure that we had all the help we wanted. What a wonderful experience! My husband, friend, and I came here on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated quickly and our server, Koa, was very personable and professional. We ordered a couple of apps, which were delicious, and asked for lettuce for wraps. We could order two meats at a time, and I think we ordered a tiro al of eight or ten proteins. My favorites were the bone in short ribs and the garlic shrimp. All of the sides were delicious, and my husband loved the pickled vegetables. I liked the macaroni salad. The music was upbeat and everything was bright and clean. Our server came and wiped off the grill several times, and he helped us cook the meat when we needed help. Overall, this was a great experience! My husband is now a k-bbq fan, which is a big deal. As someone that enjoys plenty of Korean barbecue this was highly disappointing. When entering into the restaurant, the atmosphere and the lighting seemed welcoming, but as I was trying the food, there were way too many things wrong with it. My rice seemed like it's been sitting for awhile, the meats were way too sweet as if they dumped sugar in the marinade. Some of the meats had this weird orange flavor in which preventing me from continuing to eat and worst of all they charge almost double compared to other Korean barbecue places that was twice as good. I really enjoyed eating here. They are super nice and friendly. They also cook for you while you watch. I always burn my food so I'm glad they did. I am used to going to these type of places and come out smelling like smoke but this place airs out pretty good so you don't have to worry about that. The food is pretty good. Trying new things is such a big treat in the food world. Here are a few fun facts about Thrill Korean steak and bar. Upon arriving to this restaurant, you can enter either on the shopping center side, or there is parking on the front side of the restaurant. As you walk into the restaurant, you will notice a full bar and several tables for seating. Reservations are definitely recommended especially if you have large parties. The establishment was very clean and the staff were friendly. The food presentation was beautiful, but some of the foods tastes could have been better. The cocktails were refreshing and I definitely went back for another. Overall, the restaurant was good. Updating my review after trying again , Generally why I gravitate towards korean food is because they always have a balance spicy, salty, sour, acidic, garlic. And a bit sweet too. I have to say the bulgogi is strange its seasoned but not juicy like what I'm used to. Salty finish and dry and sticks together. It also a bit boring as theirs no onion or anything. Can I have Yoshinoya instead? The rice cake this time is stiff vs somewhat soft and "firm" . This time very salty. Not enough sauce The kimchi salty too. If I were a snail, I'd be dead! I think for the $15 price point I can't complain as its still okay food. I won't be ordering here again though. I used to frequent thrill almost every weekend. Once their price increased, I stopped going. It's a far drive for me and I could no longer justify the cost. We were in the area and figured we'd treat ourselves. With as much competition as there are now, this is just one I wouldn't frequent often. They apparently gave our sides to another table so we had to wait even longer for them and there were many times our grill was empty because the server was no where to be found to order more.
