Great hamburger but not a great photo.

I have been enjoying their food for almost a year now but today was the first time I got to enjoy it inside their restaurant. I think the place has the perfect look for a super casual BBQ restaurant which seems to do a large take-out business. In other words, there were enough tables and seating in a simple but comfortable atmosphere. The owner is ever-present and he and his staff seemed dedicated to providing top notch food and service. I love their pork ribs. You can choose from among several different sauces but for me the dry rub was perfect. I also experimented today with the smoked turkey and it had just the right amount of "smokiness" while being sufficiently moist. My friend had a Friday Special hamburger and said it was delicious. Hopefully others agree and this soon becomes a regular menu item. In the past, I have had their pulled pork, brisket, brisket burnt ends, and the smoked cheddar jalapeño sausage. All of these dishes are the real deal. We are very fortunate to have a true Texas Style BBQ restaurant in the area.

This establishment has parking adjacent to the restaurant. Walked in and was greeted by a friendly young lady. We placed our order for a sliced brisket and pulled pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw and Mac and cheese. We got the house bbq and the Alabama white sauce. If I had to pick the brisket was the best of the sandwiches. Perfectly cooked tender and perfect balance of fatty meat! Pulled pork was just okay as was the Mac and cheese. I recommend adding some type of seasoning to the Mac and cheese. If in the area I might stop by again.

Ribs. Very good. Brisket, served a bit cold? But good. Pulled pork, okay. Was a bit dry. Corn bread. Very good. Baked beans, good. Mac n cheese, not very good. Was a bit mushy. I mean, place is good and I'd certainly go back to try other offerings. Like the smoked turkey and chicken wings.

The food is not good. Everything, from the Mac and cheese to the brisket, has a strange grainy texture. There's no flavor to any of it. I thought the sweet heat sauce was more tart than hot. I just found it so underwhelming. Staff is nice but this isn't even good bbq for NJ. There are better BBQ places in Union County alone lol

Whatever these are, they were delicious!

Got the craving for brisket or ribs? Step on in. While both were good (brisket a tab more flavorful); the real stars were the sides so don't pass on them! Outside seating is a huge plus, interior is clean, staff is friendly with legit suggestions, so don't be shy and ask.

Delivery Order: I had been craving Brisket for some time and the last 2 places I ordered from were extremely disappointing. Thankfully, this Brisket turned out to be yummy and I wish I had ordered more items from the Menu.

If you haven't been to JBonesBarbeque, you're seriously missing out. OMG. Absolutely next level. Everything is delicious, and you can taste the love because everything is made in-house. From the first bite to the last, it's pure perfection. This place doesn't miss at all. Highly recommend!

There is definitely some good stuff going on here. I was happy to see another smokehouse making the scene to give Red White and Que some competition. Started out with the interesting Texas Twinkies and Eggrolls. The Twinkies are Jalepenos stuffed with brisket and wrapped in bacon. Really nice flavor, but they weren't spicy. We got both the pulled pork eggrolls and the brisket ones and enjoyed them. Good balance between the meat and the cabbage, but would have liked them to be a little more crispy. We got the sliced brisket as a main, and it was tender and had good flavor, but RedWhite&Que is better. We also got the pork ribs and they were excellent. For fall-off-the-bone tenderness, they are better than RedWhite&Que. Also the All Day potatoes are great, crispy on the outside, soft and hot on the inside. The sliced Turkey breast was a total bust, waaay too dry. The sides were tasty - coleslaw, potato salad, beans, and the cornbread all complimented the meats well. The service was friendly, but the lightning is too bright, and the decor too white and spartan for a bbq joint. Overall a good place and a welcome addition to the restaurant choices in this area. Standouts are the spare ribs and All Day potatoes.

Delicious BBQ, reasonable prices. Brisket sandwich is my favorite. Cole slaw and accompanying sauces were excellent compliments.

I dared to try the cauliflower wings (half & half), which actually wasn't bad. Both flavors was good, although I personally like the spicy better (just make sure you can handle it, although it won't be too bad if you're used to spicy food). Garlic fried rice was okay, but not the best. Also seems like they don't give you a side of pickled radish at this point, but maybe that's because we're in Jersey. Also the kimchi fries weren't what I expected. What the fries were crispy and tasty, they just give you a tiny cup of kimchi cheese sauce. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I expected the fries to be way more loaded. I ordered for pickup and it did take a lot longer than expected. I also felt sorry for the hostess, who was running around trying to help. There also was 5 people just standing around chatting, but the music was just a tad too loud to hear anyone trying to get their attention. I'm sure dining in would be a chill vibe, but can still have that and have it all together yk? Last thing is I definitely asked for bacon mustard sauce and heard them confirm over the phone, a bit annoyed they forgot that!

We have been coming here for a while and always get the honey butter rice balls without fail. The crunch on the outside and chewy texture on the inside is perfect and we love the sweet taste. I would pass on the bibimbap next time, it was kind of bland and the crispy rice was burnt instead of golden. The japchae was the star of the meal. So much flavor, perfect cook of the noodles, and thin beef. If I wasn't sharing dishes, I would get this all for myself. Lastly, we got the regular size of soy garlic chicken, which was 12 pieces because they were out of the big drumsticks. The crunch was great with perfectly cooked chicken on the inside. I don't like that they charge extra for sauce but honestly this meal was such a bargain. A meal for 4 under $100 at a nice restaurant is rare. The service was fine, refilled our water on time but our waiter could've been more attentive overall. Ambiance is always great with a retro vibe and cool lighting.

I will say parking is street parking or side streets and can get a little crazy on weekends. Service is always great and you feel like you are a part of the family here. Food is always fresh and amazing. Anytime I am near here we stop regardless of being hungry or not. I absolutely am obsessed with their vaca frita and black beans. It's a huge portion so leftovers are always good. My boyfriend always orders their cubano as he said it is the best one he has ever had. Their Maduros are also sweet and crisp and never greasy. We also tried their choripan sandwich and it was awesome. We've never had thinly sliced chorizo which eliminates the usual oil and messiness. Always an amazing meal. We also tried their pineapple Cuban smoothie and ended the meal with their delicious flan.

I appreciated the complimentary yuca fritters with special sauce, which was a kind gesture. However, the overall quality, freshness, and authenticity of the main dishes did not meet expectations. Parking is very limited street parking. The Cuban breaded steak was the biggest disappointment. A proper Cuban-style breaded steak should be thin, tender, savory, garlicky, slightly citrusy, well-seasoned, evenly breaded, and pan-fried until crisp and golden. The version I received tasted oddly sweet, the breading separated from the meat, and the steak had a gummy texture with an old-looking color. It did not have the freshness or clean savory flavor expected from this classic dish. The red beans were very concerning. They tasted strongly like vinegar, and I had to spit them out. When I looked closer, there appeared to be a white, murky-looking substance in them. Beans should never taste sour or vinegary unless something is wrong. Cuban-style red beans should be creamy, savory, aromatic, and well-seasoned with garlic, onion, peppers, cumin, oregano, and bay leaves. The white rice was also not acceptable. It was hard, did not taste fresh, and had a vinegar-like smell and flavor. It appeared as if older rice may have been mixed with newer rice. Proper Cuban white rice should be fluffy, clean-tasting, separated, and neutral in flavor. The moro with black beans and rice was better than the white rice, but still lacked depth. It needed more bay leaf flavor and stronger Cuban seasoning. A good moro should have a rich, savory base from sofrito, garlic, peppers, onions, beans, broth, herbs, and slow cooking so the rice absorbs the flavor. The oxtail was tender and okay, but it did not fully deliver the deep, rich Cuban-style flavor I expected. Traditional Cuban oxtail should be slow-braised with garlic, onions, peppers, tomato sauce, wine, herbs, and spices until the sauce becomes rich and the meat is deeply seasoned. This oxtail tasted acceptable, but it seemed as though it may have been prepared a day or two before and reheated. I understand that many restaurants legally prepare certain foods a day ahead, especially dishes like beans, stews, and oxtail. However, food should still taste fresh and be stored, cooled, reheated, and handled according to food safety standards. Sour or vinegar-like flavors in rice or beans can sometimes indicate fermentation, spoilage, or improper storage, and that should never reach the customer. The best part of the meal was the dessert. The vanilla flan was very good, and the coconut flan was excellent. The coconut flan was rich, creamy, and full of coconut flavor, with shredded coconut pieces that added texture and made it stand out. That dessert showed real potential. The prices were reasonable, but reasonable pricing does not make up for poor freshness and low food quality. It did look like they may do better with sandwiches and empanadas, which I did not try and perhaps should have ordered first. I cook Cuban food, Puerto Rican food, and other traditional dishes myself, and I lived in Miami for over nine years. I also learned from Cuban friends who cook authentic Cuban food at home. Because of that, I know how these dishes should taste. In my opinion, the dishes I tried did not represent Cuban cuisine with the freshness, authenticity, seasoning, or care it deserves. The restaurant may have people who know how to cook, but based on this visit, it seems the kitchen has lost some of the authenticity and discipline needed to serve fresh, properly prepared Cuban food. Food that tastes sour, vinegary, old, or questionable should never be served to customers. The service and desserts were the highlights, but the main dishes need serious improvement in freshness, food handling, seasoning, and respect for authentic Cuban cuisine. There are several areas that need improvement. Freshness and food safety should be the main priority. Rice and beans should never taste sour or vinegary unless intentionally prepared that way, and food that seems old or questionable should not be served. The breaded steak should be freshly breaded, crispy outside, tender inside, and properly seasoned with authentic Cuban flavors like garlic, citrus, cumin, oregano, and bay leaves. The rice should be fluffy, the beans creamy, and the oxtail deeply seasoned and fresh-tasting. I believe the restaurant may have cooks who understand Cuban cuisine, but the kitchen needs to reconnect with freshness, consistency, authenticity, and stronger food handling standards. Cuban food is rich in flavor, comfort, and cultural pride, and with improvement this restaurant could better reflect that tradition.
