They handled the licensing and financing right there in the office. They even let me bring my dogs in to play while we were doing a test drive and filling out the paperwork. Mike was even kind enough to send me some winter mats which I requested as part of the deal. Colin was willing to take the car to my mechanic for an inspection before the purchase was complete. SCAM! We came to this place over a year ago. We liked the SUV, but they told us the gas gage needed to be fixed as it was signaling higher than it should. They gave us an I Owe You, and that they'll make good on the gas gage issue, but when I called to schedule the appointment to fix it, they were slammed busy and told me to take it where I'd like and that they'd pay for it. I took it to the actual brand dealer, and had over $900 in costs to fix. I sent them emails, called, and they never replied until it was 6-8 months after I submitted the request for fund that they owed me. They sent back a little over $100 dollars. They decided they weren't going to reply again. Don't go there. They are not good people. The store manager Mike, is a liar and no good on his word. read more

My automatic headlights nor my fog lights didn't work. They took it into shop and when I got it back a/c didn't work either nor did they fix fog lights or headlights. Chased them around 3-4 months and it was always same excuse. No loaner vehicles. When I offered to pay for half of rental car even I was denied. I gave up. Karma will come around. Bought a car and warranty package from them come to find out the temperature in the vehicle only shows in Celsius. After being told that the warranty would cover the issue to be fixed, 3 mechanic shops, and over a year of battling with the dealership the car has not been fixed and no compensation has happened. I finally got the owner over the phone and he said he would be looking for a new Vehicle for me and I could trade in (for a significantly lower amount that I purchased it for) I have not heard from them in 6 months. I would not recommend purchasing a vehicle or services from J Brinks. read more

As a single mom helping my teen son to purchase his 1stcar, it was all the nightmares one tries to avoid. Typical fast talking car salesman assuring us the used car had been completely checked over by their "team" and was in top shape. We believed him, he hooked us. Bought the car with every cent my son had. At 1st oil change, he was told by 2 different mechanics the tranny fluid was so black it looked like it was never changed and lucky his transmission wasn't damaged. Cost $100 to fix that. Also discovered 3 more needed repairs costing add'l $800. Son wrote a Google review on this car buying experience. Got attn from salesman who sold him the car who said JBrinks has no responsibility for $700 ball bearing repair (even though the car was barely driven since purchase) but would SPLIT the cost of their $270 oversight of tranny fluid and missing wheel guard, apparently feeling this was 1/2 my son's problem now that they got it off their lot. JBrinks' "complete check" of their autos is sadly only visual issues and you are left to deal with what was hidden or upcoming to break down. To top off this horrible experience, salesman refused to send the repair check until my son removed his Google review. If you weren't convinced to not buy a car at JBrinks yet, that behavior right there shows you what kind of place it is. BEWARE. If this wasn't how they feel a car purchase should play out - then they would have paid for these overlooked repairs in full. What happens AFTER the sale is the true test of the integrity of the dealership/salesman. read more

This is the car dealership people warn you about. Bought a beautiful CR-V and the rotors were busted. They promised to fix the issue when we were finalizing the purchase. They only fixed the back rotors and not the front. I confronted them nicely on it and promised to "make it right". The transmission fluid was also dirty so they were supposed to fix that. I'm extremely frustrated. So they picked it up for me and they "fixed it" except I wouldn't know if they really did because they didn't get me a receipt for the work done. Not to mention when I looked at my car the next morning I realized that the guy who had picked it up had backed it into something scraping the paint off the bumper and the back corner of my car. They are "looking into it" but I'm not holding my breath. They have been pretty dishonest since the start. Please save your time and money and stay away from this dealership. read more

I bought a 2012 Dodge Avenger that immediately started having problems. I am chronically ill and rarely use my car. In the first 6 months I had it I maybe tried using it 10 times at the most to get to doctors or hospitals. My car only started 3 times. I emailed, called and left text messages on their webpage explaining what was going on. I was mostly ignored. I called to find out when my 6 month warranty was up and never received a reply. I had my car towed twice to a local mechanic where I live an hour away from J Brinks and was told it was my battery. My battery wasn't covered by my warranty so I paid $279 for a battery on a car I'd driven 3 times which included the trip home from the dealership. Two days later the battery was dead again. I have a chronic disease and am in and out of the hospital and didn't have the time or energy to constantly battle for a call or email back. I finally got it into a dealership in my town who found the original dealership had put a tracker on the car that was constantly draining the battery. J Brinks is denying all knowledge and associated costs. I have now paid $279 for a battery I did not need and over $300 to figure out the tracker and remove it. When I contacted J Brinks it was basically a reply saying that sucks but not our problem, here's my number call me if you have car questions in the future. I would think as a reputable business you would refund the expenses I never should have had to pay for. I explained over and over prior to my warranty expiring I cannot afford to be paying for unknown issues to be solved or major mechanical issues and was assured again and again I was getting a dependable car. That dependable car cost me over $600 in ambulance rides since it wouldn't start to get me to the hospital when I needed it to which is the reason I bought it. So for anyone looking for honest dependable used car dealers (I know it's funny just typing it) these are DEFINITELY not the ones you want to gamble on. Just because the office is nice and it looks reputable doesn't make this business any better than the scumbags at the buy here pay here lots. read more

At first the experience of buying a vehicle from this dealership was good. The salesperson was nice, the gentleman doing the financing was nice but when something goes wrong right after you purchase you're out of luck. I had my truck for two weeks before it started making a terrible noise. After taking it in I was told the back brakes were metal to metal and needed to be replaced asap as well as the rotors. I understand this is a maintenance thing but when I've owned the vehicle for two weeks I would hope the dealership would help but that wasn't the case. I called twice and got nowhere. Buyer Beware - I purchased a vehicle from Jack at J Brinks in February and it has been issue after issue. From vehicle issues to communication issues. For starters, I was looking for a vehicle in a specific price range (as most do) because it was what I could afford. The vehicle I purchased was at the top of that range but after several conversations with Jack and other salesmen I was told numerous times they would fix minor scratches on the vehicle and rust and they would fix ANY issues and hold themselves accountable if I had anything go wrong. As for the scratches they covered them up and it looks terrible. The scratches now just have a thick coat of paint and it has the WORST wax job. However, these are not the issues I am frustrated with. Within the first three days of owning my vehicle the traction control, air bag and check engine light came on. They immediately picked the car up, kept it for a week and brought it back with no lights on. But, they took two weeks to give me the service records which basically said they changed a sensor (two dealerships have now told me they were covering up worse issues). Guess what.. the lights came back on.. the same situation repeated and I finally took it into my own dealer. This is when I was informed that I had a bad timing belt ($700) a radiator leak ($300) my transmission fluid was low and dirty and my power steering belt is going bad. I have now reached out to the dealership repeatedly for weeks and no answer or emails back. I realize now I should have brought this vehicle to a mechanic before buying it but I live over an hour away and could not make it back and forth to do so with my schedule.
