I'm a big girl--not so much "wide" big (although I could stand to lose some weight), but Russian peasant "built like a brick shithouse" big. Hence, I've learned to associate clothes shopping with disappointment. Even if someone does have clothing in my size, even if we're talking the more expensive stores, most women's clothing is designed with a skinny 15-year-old girl with a delicate frame in mind. When they size that crap up, yeah, it fits me, but I come out of the dressing room looking like Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap, when he lands in the body of some poor schmuck with a pair of tits. Or worse--the designers know that particular frock's not going to cut a good shape on a girl who actually resembles the national average, so they add ruffles or pink leopard print or not-particularly-well-thought-out decorative buttons. Hazel Boutique quite literally changed my mindset about clothes shopping. Here's why: The styles are classically stylish AND they work for someone my age (late 20s). And the stuff they carry fits me, how I carry myself, and how I see myself. They have shirts with roomy shoulders that still remind folks that you're not a lumberjack. They have dresses that are roomy on the bottom and say "Hey, check out this girl's awesome childbearing hips!" rather than the usual "OMG, let's pretend these hips don't exist, and maybe we can pass for normal." The clothing is decorated in its construction more than with baubles added on to dazzle. And it's designed with an eye toward showcasing your figure rather than using you as a vehicle for whatever fashion trend some twit in NYC thinks is the latest and greatest. Yes, it's expensive. But I actually wear the nice clothes I get there. And I enjoy wearing them.

This is a slightly smaller location than some of the Kohl's stores I have been to but it is still very nice and I do enjoy shopping here. They have a very good selection of clothing, linens, seasonal decor and many other items. There is also a Sephora within this location and it is always fun to browse in there to see what's new and maybe pick up some new cosmetics and fine fragrances. The items at this Kohl's store are for the most part very reasonably priced and I often get Kohl's coupons in the mail that help me score some additional savings. I have gotten many great deals on clothing here. The store is stocked very well and I never have any problem finding items to purchase. The cashiers at the checkout area are always very kind and they are a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Since discovering Amy's shop, it's been our tradition to stop in and check out the selection. I always seem to have luck here, and I get compliments on everything I've purchased. It's refreshing to visit a true boutique; the pieces here are unique, "forever" pieces and are of exquisite quality, mostly being made in Europe, with some Canadian and US items as well. Amy carries brands that are not easily found elsewhere, even in the high-end department stores. Reminds me of my childhood, when many luxury garments were still made in places like Austria, Scotland, Switzerland, and the US...before manufacturing moved to China. Yes, high quality materials + design + construction = high price, but honestly this was the case 35 years ago, too. While shopping 1.5 weeks ago I learned via the Mgr/Asst. Mgr that I had the $600 in Torrid Cash and that it was going to expire on the 12th. At that time the other employee spoke up, stating that there was a notification that it was going to be continued until the 18th. The head person rang me out. I asked for proof of the $600 Torrid Cash and the expiration date printed. I was told I didn't need anything, that it was on my account. On the 12th I called to confirm that the Torrid Cash would be good through the 18th, or did I need to come in and shop? I was advised the Torrid Cash was continued to the 18th and no worries - I wouldn't be losing it. Today, the 17th, I went into another location to use the Torrid Cash and was advised that all Torrid Cash had expired on the 13th. I asked if it could be just the Seabrook store because of their limited hours (11 am - 5 pm daily, closed weekends), I was given a very blank stare as if I was speaking a different language than I had a minute prior. I called the Seabrook store and was told to call customer service, that they "had no power." They were given wrong information and passed it along to me and other customers, too. After speaking with customer service for 20 minutes and several holds, the rep advised and followed up with an email that the Torrid Cash has expired. They are very sorry and are trying to reach the store manager to see if anything can be done -- BTW - there are only 2 ppl working at this store, not working that day - I seriously mean the store has only 2 employees.
