Was so looking forward to trying J. Del's after the reviews I had read. In town for our 25th anniversary and ordered after 8:00pm thru Grubhub. Order received and told it would be about an hour. Got a text about 15 minutes later saying another 35 minutes being added to time. I was actually fine with all that. it's when I got the call from the Grubhub driver saying that 2 of the 4 things I had ordered would not be delivered because they didn't have it. Found this out 45 minutes AFTER I had ordered. I get it's a busy weekend... that's why I didn't mind the wait. But if you didn't have what I ordered, why did I find out almost an hour later..... This was a nice little family owned place that was great to slip in a get a quick meal away from all the tourist ridiculousness. The pizza was OK, slightly greasy and very garlicky. We came here for a trip for NYE! We were looking on Yelp for somewhere good and casual to eat after a long day of shopping, J. Del's had great reviews so we decided to give it a try and build a pizza ! Erin extremely helpful and so sweet helping us build a pizza! and Alexis the waitress was so nice and checked on us! the food was out in maybe 15-20 minutes and they gave us a large instead of small for free and told us happy new years! We ordered pizza from here after a day in the mountains. We went white water rafting and ended up being so hungry after! We called from the road and the pizza was delicious and ready for us to pick up and take back to our cabin in 30 minutes. It was pricey for sure, $46 for two larges, but hit the spot with no traffic or wait to speak of. Just had a spectacular meal at j del's on teaster. They are located right across from the mountain mile that is being built where the old belz mall was located. We split a dinner salad which included three hot, soft garlic knots. Then we progressed to the large meat lovers thin pizza. Best pizza we have both had. Thin, crispy with lots of toppings. Needless to say we took home enough for two meals for both of us. We tried the zeppole with raspberry sauce. They were hot and soft dough pillows. Everything was delicious. They advertised Chicago style hot dogs and Chicago Italian beef sandwiches. Well they no longer have hot dogs and the Chicago beef sandwich was not even close to a Italian beef sandwich it was basically a tasteless French dip. J. Del's was OUTSTANDING. The pizza was the best that I've ever had. Good music and a very nice atmosphere. You can tell it's a "local" place. Not some chain with mediocre food for a high price. Given the location in this touristy town, the prices for not only the quality of the food you get, but also the quantity is well worth the visit. The owners run the shop and make the food. It's refreshing to visit a family run pizza place that the owners take a lot of pride in providing great pizza. This was our first visit and we will be back. The kids loved watching the owners make pizza in front of everyone. They even gave the kids some dough to play with. We had the garlic knots and there was fresh crushed garlic in the butter. Honestly it's hard to rate this spot. It's between 3 and 4 (could be 5 easily) stars for me but I'm a snob and don't like to round up but I will for this place. I think it's some of the best food in East Tennessee. They serve some of the best pies in the south. If you are from up north and are missing a good pie or an Italian sandwich this is the place to go. That being said you're gonna have to order ahead. It's gonna take you a while before your food is ready. I.e. 20 minutes on a slow day. They toss their own dough and it's great. But they also sell dogs, and that's why I go there, Chicago and New York style. But if you are coming in for one be willing to wait. A dog should take a minute or two to make (or less!!) and maybe they don't sell a lot of them but it's gonna be 10 minutes before they can prepare your order. Still the best dogs and pies I've found in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. Don't pass this spot up. You'll be happy you waited but don't go in if you are in a big hurry because they care about the food and take their time to make sure your order is just right. Del's, and ordered a half-pepperoni / half-chicken pizza. I can honestly say that their pizza is delicious. The crust is perfect, not to thin, not too thick - just right. The toppings were delicious. For dessert, I had the Italian Zeppoles with dipping sauce. Absolutely delicious! Moreover, the owners, Joe and his lovely wife Jodi, are among the kindest, nicest people I've ever met. Two tables were clean while the rest were littered with used plates and silverware. I'm confused if this is a sit down place or carry out. We walked to the counter and placed an order and were told it would be thirty minutes for our pie. They don't serve the food to you, but rather call your name and you go pick it up at the register...somewhat awkward there. We ordered a small meat lover's pizza. Price was $18.99. Kinda bland, lacking in flavor. I had to put a heavy shaking of the table side red pepper flakes, but missed not having the grated parmesan cheese.
