This used to be my go to place for flowers, ONLY because they had someone deliver the roses in a vase. The main reasons why I'm taking my business elsewhere, the tip option at checkout on the website. Tipping should be based on performance after a service is completed, not beforehand. The deliveries are always late in the day (so if you send someone roses to their work, expect them to receive the flowers close to the end of their shift). The quality of the roses is underwhelming. I tipped on the website expecting better quality roses and timely delivery, but it seems the tip option is just a cash grab. It's ironic they ask for tips while increasing their prices. I've been a customer for a few years and can see the price hikes compared to what I paid before. So now I'm paying more and tipping for mediocre service? It just doesn't make sense. read more

Service good. If you order online and put a recipient and pick up (you paid), the order is not going to be in your name. The regular offerings are minimal but you can customize although a little more expensive and no pricing listed. This is my second time here. I thought my first order was a little puny (the standard version). After seeing the picture of the standard version of the Orchid Basket, it looked puny too. The website said that the most popular version of this arrangement was deluxe. I wanted it more full so I ordered the premium version. The standard version was $75, the deluxe $102, and the premium $114. . So disappointing that the premium version, $39 more was less full than the standard version. Paid the extra money for less foliage and flowers. I actually ran to a flower shop and picked up a couple of orchid stems and foliage to make it look like the price I paid. Additionally, I left them a $10 tip (never heard of tipping a florist but there was a space for it). Wasn't really smart on my part. Hopefully it went to the minimum wage employees. I always had my own florists in Hawaii and they sent flowers here. They are long retired and I have been struggling to find a comparable place. Designs are nice but not anything out of the ordinary. Will see how long the arrangement lasts. read more

Their team was so patient and understanding of my vision, they were able to reuse the ceremony flowers in the reception saving me tons of money - the aisle markers were repurposed as centerpieces and our grounded arch was flipped to wrap around our sweetheart table. Also the bouquets, this was a major reason for me choosing them in the first place. I had a very specific ideas for the bouquets. I am about 5' tall and felt the "typical" bouquet size would completely overwhelm me so I wanted petite bouquets for me and my bridesmaids. Most of the other florists I talked would try to persuade me into not going "too small", but Jane and her team never tried to convince me to go with bigger bouquets and this was something that I appreciated. My wife became a big fan of J Flowers after coming across their Instagram account. They have the aesthetic that my wife really loves vs your more typical "1-800 Flowers" type florist, and they clearly have incredible passion and talent in what they do. I went into the store (beautiful btw) and got to speak directly with the daughter of the J Flower mother-daughter duo. I gave a bit of background as to what my wife liked in flowers, discussed a reasonable budget, and then left the rest to her. For those "on the outside" (like me) who don't live and breathe in the world of flowers, all we know is whether we "like it" and how an arrangement makes us feel... not always why! I called at 1:30 pm to see what time you have to order by to get same-day delivery, the woman told me 2pm. Awesome. I placed my order, for a dozen roses for my friend going through agressive chemo. I wasn't sure which color to pick, she advised me. Peach. I give her all my info, she tells me it will be delivered within a few hours. Perfect. One hour later, my friend texts me thank you for the flowers. Tells me it's a gorgeous bouquet with the prettiest vase (I'm on the East Coast so I didn't see anything in person). Normally, the vases are just cheap clear ones. This one is a gorgeous gold. The roses are perfect. My friend sends me a photo 24 hours later, the roses are in perfect bloom.
