Here is a picture of my skid shield with broken bolt Jlube returned to me and charged $100
    Steven B.

I had Jlube change the oil on my Toyota FJ and they charged me just under $100.00 I asked why they charge so much because my last oil change from the Toyota dealer was $65.00 and they said because the oil is synthetic and they had to remove a skid shield. I had them show me what oil they used and Miejers had it in the 5 quarts jug for $22.00. I got home and noticed the skid plate cover hanging down. I looked under my vehicle and they broke the bolts off of the shield and left it hanging broken. I will never take any of my vehicles back to J RIP off incompetent lube!

Used to be a great place. $80 for two quarts of oil and nothing else! What happened to this place?

Probably the best service station I've ever been to…read more Shop is super clean and they have a waiting area where you can sit and enjoy coffee while your car is serviced. Conventional oil changes start at $35.99 and include a bevy of more service than your standard oil change. They check and top off all the fluids, check lights, tires, and even vacuum your floors. When you're all said and done, there is a free car wash to boot. Staff is incredibly helpful and don't really try to sell you too many extras like other shops. Air filter was definitely bad but the attendant said it wasn't "pressing." I decided to change the filter anyways. Will definitely return.

I had a bunch of questions, as an out-of-towner who was having some car trouble; the Front Desk Guy was super helpful. Waited for s/thing like an hour at least - they were short staffed. Very happy with my oil change. ONLY prob: they seem to have disconnected my wiper fluid tube, and I had to pay another mechanic to reattach it. If I'd been A Local, I'd have just taken it back and requested replair, but it took me a few days to realize & by that time I was already getting other work done. In sum: I'd go back; my car did run more smoothly after; DON'T GO DURING LUNCH HOUR or other high-volume moment. Would also not go right before getting on the road, leaving town. 4/5 stars

We took our vehicle to the nearest auto repair and they confirmed it was an issue with the alternator and at the current rate, we wouldn't make it back home without repairing it. Although helpful, they unfortunately could not service our vehicle due to being short staffed. Knowing this was an alternator issue we called several other auto repair businesses (including a Honda dealership) and no one had any availability until the following week; it was currently Wednesday. Losing hope and already thinking of alternative ways to get home we called Traverse City Public Service Garage (TCPSG) and they luckily had someone available to re-diagnose and potentially service our vehicle (it was about 1pm at this time). Upon arrival they were able to verify the issue, order the faulty part from one of their local suppliers, have it delivered, and installed it in about 4 hours or so. While there was an element of luck that came into play (available mechanic, supplier with the part, time of day, etc.), the service we received was both friendly and fair all things considered. The good folks at TCPSG got our vehicle back up and running and we ultimately got back home later that evening safely and in one piece. From me and my family, thank you Traverse City Public Service Garage for your hospitality and quality service.

The first person who looked at it thought the AC compressor needed to be replaced to be safe to drive but they had a second person look at it and he was able to offer a quick fix to get us up and going. We were ready to leave it and have it fixed when their AC person was available but they were honest and gave us a better option even though it cost them business. We cannot thank them enough for helping us in a pretty desperate situation.

I also had installed a tow bar on our car that used to rattle when the old exhaust would move under pressure over time... and that noise no longer exists!!! My case may have been custom, and I am a hard man to please, but the work was done professionally for the cost of just one (and there are many) of the parts that would be needed from our car parts catalog! Every case is different but Cliff's worked for us, I'm almost positive they will for you too!

Having my car towed to Cliff's, I had left a note for the service team to use a manufactured starter to save money as I'm selling the car. I was first charged $150 to analyze the problem (as the car was dead), then upon my getting a new replacement battery to use, was charged another $150 to remove the old battery and install the new one..wow! (This is a free service at many car parts stores and usually takes less than ten minutes.) then instead of replacing the starter with a remanufactured unit as requested (cost $227 to $284), an expensive New starter was installed at a cost of $575 for the part and $375 for labor. This brought the bill for what should have been a $700 fix into a whopping $1200+ expense with no discount offered by the owner went questioned about it. He referred to a remanufactured (and guaranteed) replacement unit as poorly made...I'm not that stupid to believe it. Should you decide to gave any work done at Cliff's, get an estimate first. I will not be going back.
