He has me order the parts & then sets up a day to come over. Ok cool I'm thinking, I get everything planned out, parts are delivered, I let him know & he says he'll be by in 3 days after 6pm. An hour before he's supposed to be there he texts that his daughter is sick & he is starting to feel sick too & he will get a hold of me when he figures out his schedule. 3 days goes by with nothing, I text him finally to find out what's going on & that I'm probably going to have to find a real mechanic to do the work & he says he won't be able to work on my car because life overwhelmed him this past week/weekend. So, now I have a box of parts from Rock Auto that I think I need on my car, but not sure.

The price for labor at Keystone is reasonable, especially compared with other shops in the Traverse City area. I was given an estimate for the repairs which they suspected I needed, but once they popped the hood, they found it wasn't quite as serious than they initially expected. Rather than make those repairs anyway, and charge me an extra hour of labor plus parts (which I've experienced before from a more dishonest, mainstream auto repair shop), they reduced the price from my estimate and made the correct repairs. Not only that, but they knew my situation was difficult, and that I needed to travel several hours by car that same evening, so they began the repairs immediately in order to get me on the road before the shop closed rather than the next morning. All around a good experience and an honest mechanic, and I will return the next time my vehicle inevitably needs work.

I asked how much I had to pay for the "diagnostic" they preformed to say it was a "misfire" and was told "we haven't done anything yu don't owe" took my truck to another shop they plugged me up n got a old misfire code, took my truck home did my speed sensor myself after ordering 2 my truck was perfectly fine. speed sensors dont throw codes!

Mr Moore installed the wrong AC belt on my car, it was making a terrible noise and was a fire risk…read more I returned for him to take a look at it, he charged me an additional $35.00 to look at it and tell me he put on the wrong belt, then said it would be an additional $150.00 to purchase and install the correct one after I had already paid for him to install the belt and AC and now another 35.00 to look at it. I went to the dealer and they installed the belt for $40.00 Moore is a crook and very rude if you don't agree with him he is quick to fly off the handle. BEWARE I will never do business there again and would not recommend him. I rate his business less than 1 star When he originally installed the parts he said it would take 4 hours at the most and offered me a car to use, he didn't have a car for me to use when I arrived, and didn't tell me until I was already there, he dropped me off at the mall and more than 7 hours later I called him and he said he would be done in about 30 minutes. Everything that needed to be done was done with no expensive surprises!…read more I now have an exhaust that does exactly what an exhaust should do... completely remove the engine waste, and not leak in the process! I also had installed a tow bar on our car that used to rattle when the old exhaust would move under pressure over time... and that noise no longer exists!!! My case may have been custom, and I am a hard man to please, but the work was done professionally for the cost of just one (and there are many) of the parts that would be needed from our car parts catalog! Every case is different but Cliff's worked for us, I'm almost positive they will for you too!

Having my car towed to Cliff's, I had left a note for the service team to use a manufactured starter to save money as I'm selling the car. I was first charged $150 to analyze the problem (as the car was dead), then upon my getting a new replacement battery to use, was charged another $150 to remove the old battery and install the new one..wow! (This is a free service at many car parts stores and usually takes less than ten minutes.) then instead of replacing the starter with a remanufactured unit as requested (cost $227 to $284), an expensive New starter was installed at a cost of $575 for the part and $375 for labor. This brought the bill for what should have been a $700 fix into a whopping $1200+ expense with no discount offered by the owner went questioned about it. He referred to a remanufactured (and guaranteed) replacement unit as poorly made...I'm not that stupid to believe it. Should you decide to gave any work done at Cliff's, get an estimate first. I will not be going back.
