The general manager came around many times to ensure we were having a nice dinner & enjoying everything. He comes with laughter & stories!

This was a special occasion for my mom's birthday! We started with Caesar salad & oysters kale-feller. For the main mom/JJ had a shellfish tower(3 tiers) & I ordered the wet aged New York strip (medium) with garlic mashed potatoes (real garlic on top) and broccoli. We ended with crème brûlée & a cute happy birthday treat from the house. Shoutout to our server & the GM for being the cherry on the top! Ambience is casual/dress up, dim lighting, a place to go and slow down for a minute.

I cannot say enough, good things about the quality of their food and service. When you want to go out to a special place, you want everything to be just right, and they consistently have mastered the art! From beautiful presentation to amazing flavors, and a well trained staff That seamlessly works together. I wish I had more photographs, but I was having too much fun

One of the best steakhouses in town, and would likely get way more hype if it weren't so far out there. Service was excellent, very attentive with several folks helping the main waiter we had. Drinks were good, with some pretty interesting cocktails and a hefty and very reasonably priced wine list. Steaks and cuts are a standout for sure, with more prime cuts, wet aged and dry aged selection than anywhere else in town. Sides selection was good as well, the cauliflower probably the most unique in terms of presentation. Brussels were good and mushrooms fantastic options. Don't usually go for dessert but given the occasion, everyone got something and everyone was pleased. Triple choc cake and turtle cheesecake were my personal favorites. Only slight stain on our experience was my wife's steak. She's celiac and they knew up front the glaze the steaks typically came out on were not safe to eat. However it still came out that way, and when it was noticed and called out. They took it back and the replacement came out within minutes. Did they prepare another steak that quickly? Have one already on the works? Or just wiped it off and replated? Hard to say, and my wife took a charcoal pill and ate it and thankfully didn't get sick. Would've been nice had the request regarding a food allergy been addressed up front instead of needing callout and correction. Would still be back and give it another shot.

Tried J Michaels for the first time and we will definitely be back. We got the bison ribeye and New York strip, both perfectly cooked. Our drinks were strong, service was excellence. Make sure you bring cash for the (complimentary) valet. The mashed potatoes were the best I've had! Definitely recommend.

MOCKTAILS! I was so excited to see the lengthy mocktail menu on our last visit to J Michael. Not only were the mocktails top shelf, they also looked so beautiful. Most canton restaurants are behind the times with mocktails, and if they serve them it's in a beer pint glass and full of sugar. J Michael's bartender is impressive and I can't wait to try more next time. Also our server was great, I can't recall her name but she mentioned she had worked there for about five years

We had the most amazing time at J. Michael's Prime! It was our first visit there and we will definitely be back! Our server Loren was top notch!! She made sure we were taken well care of! The birthday girl, our daughter, asked for wine suggestions and Loren gave her great advice! The adventurous birthday girl had the elk and RAVED about it. My husband and I each had steaks which were prepared perfectly. I highly recommend the blue crab Oscar on your steak! The manager came to our table more than once to check on us and made us feel so special! She even remembered the birthday girl's name when they brought her dessert! What a special night it was!!!

Just a quick update to an already 5 star restaurant. J Michale's is a fabulous steakhouse but if you don't know, they run specials almost every day of the week. So on Mondays they put out this amazing fried chicken special. Yes a chicken special from a steakhouse. You would be amazed. I'm not, because I know that everything J Michale's puts out is fantastic. So it's a 2 person chicken special. 8 pieces of crispy on the outside, tender and juicy in the inside, chicken (full bird). 4 huge pieces of the best corn bread around. So moist. 2 of any sides on the menu and there are some good ones. And a peppercorn white gravy that's out of this world. What a delicious dish. Next on my list is Sushi Tuesday!

Made reservations for an anniversary dinner and we were seated right away when we arrived. We were in a small room adjacent to the main dining room and it was nice and had a tv playing a fireplace scene. But it wasn't as moody as the rest of the restaurant ambience. They have a good variety of nonalcoholic beverages here and not just your typical "virgin daiquri", there were 0 alcohol wines, beers, and cocktails. For dinner we both had ribeye, one bone in and one without. I liked that they both came with seared garlic on the side. The steaks tasted good and were cooked just how we asked for them to be but there wasn't really anything about them that made me think "wow! This is worth $90" You know? My husband got a side of bone marrow and I think it is a great portion for the price. The side dishes were hot and we loved all 3. The wedge salad had a lot of dressing but it was not overwhelming because it didn't have too much tang or blue cheese "ness". It was a great balance. I loved it. The chocolate cake was to die for and a great way to end our anniversary dinner. They also packed up all of our leftovers and bagged them. All in all, great experience.

We had multiple rounds of oysters (which were good sized Gulf oysters), fish dip, shrimp cocktail, and wings. The star of the show was my plate, their soft shell crab plate. The raw bar is front and center, and there are several great options for oysters. There is a social hour option for chef's choice oysters, I believe it was a dozen for $24. I would've loved to indulge, but my friends were not so inclined towards raw oysters. We enjoyed the peel-and-eat shrimp and the blue crab fritters as appetizers. Both had phenomenal flavor, but the portions left a bit to be desired. For my main course, I tried the low country boil as I always love to see an elevated take on a messy classic. The spices were a bit underwhelming for my liking, but everything was cooked very well. I tried some of my friend's redfish, and it was clearly the star of the show. There was a wonderful textural balance between the soft pillowiness of the fish and the crispy exterior. The downside for me was the service. We had a difficult time tracking down our server, and when we alerted another member of the staff that we needed something, there was no attempt to resolve the issue expeditiously. We had to wait another 10 minutes before flagging down our original server. We were dining close to the lunch/dinner shift, so I'm willing to give them the grace that it was a fluke and not a habit. I would love to give Roberto's another try someday, the menu has a great variety, and the ambiance is hard to compete with.

We stopped by for lunch and were really impressed with the quality of the food and the great customer service we received. For our entree we ordered the special pasta of the day which was a pesto sauce pasta with chicken and the shrimp and grits. Two completely different types of dishes and both were absolutely FANTASTIC! The pesto sauce of the pasta dish was one of the best pesto sauces we have had in a really long time. Absolutely delicious. The shrimp and grits was just perfection the very best grits I've also had in a long time. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the whole dish was so full of flavor. Truly one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Best part - the restaurant was so affordable (especially for a seafood restaurant) which we loved as well. We have dined at many expensive seafood restaurants over the years and most are simply overpriced and the food is usually ok but not wow by any means. First good sign: the bartender had classic bartender energy. Easy to talk to and good at what he does. Looking at the menu, I immediately noticed some French touches, including escargot, which you almost never see around here. I had to try it. It wasn't the best escargot I've ever had, but when a place in Canton is putting it on the menu, you give them credit for the effort. The real reason I came in was the oysters. I'm a big Roberto's in downtown Woodstock fan, which I consider the oyster mecca of the area. So I was curious if Canton had anything comparable. To their credit, Going Coastal actually does oysters properly. Not just the usual generic stuff. They had Murder Points, which tells me someone in the kitchen cares about quality and sourcing. I also ordered a piece of fish. They cook it to order and let you choose how you want it prepared. Some people want the chef's call, others like control. Either way, the execution was solid and the flavors worked. Bottom line: this is a good seafood spot. The best seafood option in Canton.

They were clearly understaffed, which was apparent from checking in with the hostess. The line of people waiting to check in with her caused the waiter taking desserts downstairs to have to wait up to five minutes with that tray. Once we were seated, we thought things might go better. Crab cake Benedict was the #1 choice for my wife and BIL, but the kids' menu didn't have the chicken and waffles the guy who called to confirm my reservation had mentioned. That was no problem because my kids have learned to find something to eat wherever we take them, and I ordered chicken and waffles to share with them because I love my kids and knew I would get enough food one way or another. The mimosa came in a wine glass because they had run out of flutes, which was fine by my wife, but she said they tasted heavier on the juice than on the prosecco. My waffles came out a bit burnt, but they replaced them with no problem when we pointed it out. My kids got fresh waffles, and I enjoyed the burnt ones. The chicken was one decent piece for a person, but split between my daughter and me was less than I had hoped for. Thankfully, the salad was a decent appetizer. When the crab cakes Benedict came, we were shocked to see a mess of scrambled eggs on a thin crab cake with an English muffin under. We always ask for hollandaise on the side because that sauce can go several different ways of bad, but in this instance we were genuinely confused how a benedict could come with anything other than poached eggs! The flavor was okay, but the texture and presentation left a lot to be desired. My wife only finished half of hers and didn't touch the limp fries. You can probably figure out how I made do with food in this instance. Our kids, meanwhile, devoured their food like we had starved them their whole lives, so on the plus side we didn't have to hear kids whining about food! Service was polite but very slow. I don't know that we'll be back. With the abundance of good restaurants in our area, it's going to be hard to justify returning here.

Anyhoo, I did a quick search and asked if he wanted to try B&B again. Thank goodness he agreed, y'all. My only gripe with B&B is their parking lot. It rivals Trader Joe's for impracticality. So take your compact car! They had the corn hole stowed but heaters were blazing and there were people dining on the patio when we walked in. Better ye than me, folks! We were seated immediately and then we met our delightful server... Early server spotlight for Owen. Such nice energy for a gloomy Wednesday evening, really upbeat without being annoying, the perfect level of attentive. Go when he's there and reward his awesomeness as well! Okay, I decided this afternoon that I wanted a li'l blue plate special for dinner. And Husband wanted a burger. He got a spicy smash burger, the actual name escapes me. Spicy & smashed, she was! There was a good amount of heat from the pickled jalapeños so he took a few off. His recommendation is that they go for a smattering of the diced variety instead. (I've created a monster!!!) He was also very happy with his battered fries. Unless I'm misremembering, they remind me of A&W fries; not as seasoned or as battered as Checkers, but so good. What did I get? You're sweet to ask! I did three sides: garlic green beans, fried Brussels and fried okra. Yes, yes, and yes. They are so wild, I think all three were fresh! Can you even?! You know exactly what I'm talking about when I say frozen fried okra has a taste. If this was frozen ever, they need to patent that technology. The garlic green beans were giving Chinese food but better. Really balanced seasoning, good crispness, flavor. Green, if you can imagine! And the Brussels sprouts... With bacon and sauce... Those leftovers will hate to see me coming. "Leftovers?" I sense you ask incredulously. Yes. Because while perusing the menu online, I saw a nice, big picture of their Butter Toffee Cake. And I was instantly imbued with the knowledge that this cake would heal all my past traumas, pay off my student loans, and give me winning lottery numbers. Only time will tell on all counts. But if you order one thing at that restaurant, I demand it be that cake. The person handling those cakes went to the Hogwarts' Academy of Culinary Wizardry. I can hardly describe it and I have no idea what flavor ice cream is on top except it's the best one. If you like food, but especially butterscotch, or not - you need this cake. I blacked out after that and woke up here on Yelp, so... Please go try that cake.

Made reservations for Mothers Day over the phone and got a confirmation call to confirm them. Both…read moretimes no one mentioned that you had to do a buffet on Mother's Day. We sat down and menus were placed on our table. We all figured out what we were ordering and waitress said we couldn't order anything off menu. Buffet was not the best. My daughter saw them filling the sweets from containers from Costco. Would not recommend. Was not a great meal for a special day! Edit: It was not on website when we made our reservations.
