We were a big group celebrating our friends birthday. We got Tuna tartare, Dry Aged New York Strip, Scallop Risotto and with a side dish of Brussels sprouts. My other friends got a bunch of other dishes too, most all enjoyed their meals. My boyfriend was really disappointed in his steak...he reported it as being a steak but not wow steak. On the contrary, I loved the tuna tartare, that spiciness was good. I loved the Scallop Risotto even though the dish was cold by the time it reached me. The scallops were cooked perfectly, I definitely will be back for that. The side dish of Brussels sprouts were also good, but a dash too sweet. One word - Unforgettable! First, we called to make a reservation. There wasn't a time that suited us so the hostess let us know the patio was first come, first serve. We decided to chance it. Best decision EVER! Within minutes of being sat, we were offered a sampling of an app to try. Yum! Then Tiffany, our server, proceeded to impress us with not just her service, but also her recommendations - all ON POINT. Hubby and I each ordered one of the specials. A-MAZING. The cocktails were fun and unique. THEN they brought out a dessert because it was our first time there at which point we told Tiffany our reason for being in the area (a sad one, unfortunately) and that we had chosen to eat there based on reviews and a photo of a dessert that's on the menu. Tiffany asked which one, so we showed her. Next thing we know, she had them bring us a complimentary dessert! Yep, you guessed it! The one in the pic that was the final selling point for us dining there that night. I was really impressed with the service and quality of food. I'm so happy that a quality higher end restaurant moved into this building. I felt like I had a little of everything. The lobster bisque was creamy, rich, flavorful and loaded with real lobster. It had some microgreens on top that provided a nice texture. The Mediterranean salad was delicious. It was large enough to share. The lobster macaroni and cheese was creamy and rich. It had a fair amount of real lobster. I loved it. The asparagus was flavorful but a little too oily. I finished with an ice cream. The server said it was a local brand. YUMMMMMMM. On a side note, the service was great. Our server Julie was on top of it. The rest of the crew was attentive as well. I came here last night and am absolutely glad that I did. This place is a delicious delight serving up some impressively decadent food. The service was also as high quality as the food. Everything about this restaurant made my evening an enjoyable one. I had the Mediterranean Salad, Blackened Scallops and Crispy Shrimp, a taste of the Lobster Bisque, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Sauteed Crinkle Asparagus, and the Steak and Frites...quite a lot I know! And even though it's a little pricey, it is worth every penny! The Mediterranean Salad was delicious and nicely coated with a tasty balsamic vinaigrette. The Blackened Scallops and Crispy Shrimp were absolutely delicious with the scallops being perfectly cooked the shrimp delightfully seasoned all on base of bisque and topped with micro-greens. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was sinfully delicious...so cheesy, so creamy, so chocked full of big pieces of lobster. The sauteed crinkly asparagus were good...exactly the flavor I like with asparagus. But the entree and star was the Steak and Frites. The steak was a marinated skirt steak that was cooked to the perfect medium temperature and flavored by the gods. It was moist and tender and absolutely delicious. It was drizzled in a very fragrant chimichurri sauce that may be too strong for some...if you aren't into garlic, horseradish or strong mustardy flavors then get it on the side and dip into it. And a special shout out goes to our server, Julie. She was fantastic, quick, funny, and made sure we had everything we needed and more. It was a joy having dinner in her section. Wanted to sit at bar, but only limited tables available for 4 so we sat in the main dining area. Service was exceptional. My steak was cooked perfectly and was quite tasty. All the food and drinks were faultless. I tasted from the shellfish tower, shrimp cocktail, French onion soup, and corn side dish. The split crab leg meat was intentionally served cold, an odd experience for me. Raw oysters were fresh and served with all the desired accompaniments. Only negative, if you call it one, is the pricing. Upscale restaurant, flawless service, I guess you pay for what you get. I will go back. read more

I bet I've driven past this place a dozen time but never got to experience the incredible food and service until recently. My golfing buddy Gregg eats here a lot and after a day on the links he treated me to dinner there. Not only was the ambiance cool but we got seated right away. Then it was food ordering time which Gregg directed me through the incredible menu. We had an order of calamari which was the best I have ever tasted. No tentacles but strips of tender squid perfectly fried to a golden brown with a dipping aioli sauce that was not needed but very good. The French Onion soup was fabulous with a nice blend of the ingredients that was totally on point. I also had the massive burger perfectly cooked and served with three huge onion rings. None of the fried items were greasy and everything was delicious. The service by an ample staff of waiters was some of the best I have experienced in a long time. Easy five stars for this place and I can't wait to take my darling wife there soon. read more

I was excited to try this restaurant when I learned that it's the sister restaurant to RCB, which is one of the best restaurants around this area. The good: The staff is extremely friendly, funny, attentive and took care of all our needs. That's speaks well of the management, especially during these post pandemic time, when finding talent is extremely difficult. That's the only reason I'm giving this review 3 stars. The managers on duty were equality attentive and gracious. The bad: Extremely disappointed with the steaks. This is supposed to be a steakhouse and they charge a lot for their steaks. My steak came out overdone and I had to send it back to the kitchen. By the time they brought me a new steak, my entire party had finished eating. I don't mind paying $110 for a steak, but if you're going to charge those prices, your cooking skills better be impecable. Another person in my party had to send back his steak because, in his own words, it was rancid. I took a survey of the rest of my party (16 in total) and everyone was equally unimpressed by the quality. One went as far as saying that we could have gotten better steaks at Longhorn. Went to J.Prime yesterday evening to celebrate my grandsons graduation from KSU. We had reservations and from the moment we arrived the staff made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Our server, excellent, he was patient, informative and constantly checked to see how we were doing. Our meal was delicious, we had risotto with scallops, prime ribeye, NY strip steaks, house salad, calamari strips, burgundy mushroom caps, huge onion rings, mashed potatoes and creme brûlée and chocolate cake for dessert. The wife and I decided to try J Michael Prime for a little anniversary dinner date night, as we had not been there before and wanted something a bit closer to the house. The restaurant is spacious and well adorned, and I was excited to have an excellent meal. The lady that sat us at our table wished us a happy anniversary when seating us and we were promptly greeted by the server's assistant who took our drink order. After our drink order came, we placed our order for appetizers (she got the lobster bisque, I went with the Cesar salad), mains (Her the 8oz Center cut filet with veal demi, medium well (I know, I know) and I had the 12 oz center cut, with cognac cream, medium rare), and sides (family style: Mushroom caps, brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes). Our soups and salad arrived at our table less than 5 minutes after ordering. There was nothing noteworthy about the salad, but the wife did thoroughly enjoy her soup. The main dishes arrived very quickly after the apps, and the whole thing felt rushed and scrambled at the same time. For instance, our steaks came out, but we had to wait an extra 3 minutes for the sides, and even then, they all trickled out instead of a seamless presentation. I like to bounce around the plate when I eat, so having a slab of beef with no sides was a slight frustration. Additionally, the young server's assistant was on his first day of the job and would hand me plates instead of placing them on the table. Not a huge deal, but just an annoyance when you go out for a nice dinner. Date nights out are scare, especially when we get so few of them as parents of three kids 5 and under, so perhaps I was hyper-sensitive. Foodwise, I thought my steak was cooked beautifully but woefully under-seasoned. The wife's steak was a bit under cooked, but she refused to call attention to it, so that is on us. The half portion of mashed potatoes are supposedly enough for 2-3 people, but we barely had enough for 2 portions. Maybe we just have heavy hands? The mushrooms and Brussels really stole the show and food-wise were the redeeming qualities of the night. Did I mention it felt rushed? We had 6:30 reservations and our check printed at 7:29. Normally when we visit a nicer restaurant and spend a decent amount of money on a meal, we are there for a few hours, taking in the experience and ambiance. Being rushed through a few hundred-dollar dinner stung a bit. That aside, I did appreciate the noticeable effort the staff went through to make us feel special. A personalized, handwritten celebratory note was given to us along with a complimentary glass of champagne to toast with and a free dessert. By far the farthest a restaurant has gone to make us feel special on a special day. After paying our bill, we went outside to the valet and while I am sure the valet is an independent company, they are a complete mess. We must have waited outside for 15-20 minutes for the valet to retrieve our car, playing Tetris with the other cars in the lot to free ours from its captivity. I want to give them 3.5 stars, but since that is not possible on Yelp, I will go with 4 stars, with the note and champagne earning them the extra half. I am not sure we would go back as there are other places a little further away that offer a little better food for comparable prices, albeit without the same atmosphere. read more

Ate here last night - to be totally transparent - I'm a huge fan of Bones - but was hoping to find something a bit closer to home (Canton). So my review is pretty much a comparision to Bones - which I consider to be the prime example of perfection. We went with friends. Food was very good. We tried the NY Strip (wet) - ordered Medium, served Medium Well (this would never happen at Bones). Sides were fair - creamed corn was good, garlic potatoes were too garlicky. Pricing was very similar to Bones - Service was the real differentiator. Even though the restaurant was about 10% full when we arrived, our waitress didn't come to our table for a full 15 minutes after we arrived. My spouse had to ask her about specials as she turned to leave, then she remembered to let us inform us of them. Silverware from our appetizers was removed along with the appetizer plates, but new silverware for the main course arrived 5-10 minutes AFTER the main courses arrived- a bit frustrating to look at your steak and not be able to eat it. Overall, not a bad experience- but I still prefer the GOAT, Bones - and will probably just make that drive whenever I'm craving the best of the best. J Michael's may be the best in town, but it's definitely NOT the best. Just an update - I heard from the staff once my review posted - it was very heartening to see how much they cared - we will go back in the near future and give them another look! read more

So this night we were celebrating my brothers presidential scholar award and the location was perfect! We had an amazing server but management is SOOOO PERSONABLE! Keith (Manager) and Frank (owner) - don't quote me on the names. I loved how they cared about the occasion as much as we did! Like a family! Our server was on top of it. So I had the waygu filet special and it was AMAZING! I take videos of everything so please watch them!(video wouldn't upload so I have photos of the dessert platter) It literally melted in my mouth! The food was specular but I believe the most important reason to go to J. Michaels is the service. The people there really care about you and getting it right for you! I would 10/10 recommend!
