Peanut butter banana ice cream with hot fudge

Such a great ice cream spot! It is expensive though. $8 for a small with one topping! But the ice cream is always delicious and they have excellent seasonal flavors.

What better way to end a day of shopping than treating yourself with some JP licks ?! This time my fiancé and I decided to split the cookie sundae and it was so yummy -- vanilla ice cream with a warm chocolate chip cookie at the bottom and topped with whipped cream, chocolate chips, & chocolate drizzle. The service was fast despite the long line of hungry shoppers. JP Licks is always a great family- friendly spot for a sweet treat and the one at assembly row didn't disappoint!

They say I'm a J.P. Licks fan but I know I'm not the only one. It's been said that there are better ice cream shops out there, especially in the greater Boston area. But honestly I haven't found any. As far as I've experienced, this is the pinnacle of bombass ice cream shops in the country. Every time I try a new flavor and every time I try a new location, it just works for me. It's like a comforting blanket of sweetened cream and sundry mix-ins and chunky tidbits to lay on. How could ever I want to cheat on that with about ice cream shop? That's sacrilege. More than that, it's disrespectful to my first love of ice cream. I think once you find your ice cream joint, you shouldn't go looking for another. In fact, you should shout about your love to everyone you come across. Tell them how great you have it and invite them to join in the love. In that regard I hope someday you join us and the lovers of ice cream will live as one.

We stopped by J.P. Licks on a busy Saturday evening, and as expected, it was pretty crowded , a clear sign of its popularity! My son tried their vanilla low-fat frozen yogurt, and he loved it. Creamy, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. Despite the crowd, the service was quick and friendly. A great treat spot for families ,we'll definitely be back!

4 Scoop Plate ($9). Mint chip, black raspberry, cookies n cake batter, and maple butter walnut.

It was a pleasure experiencing this Boston based ice cream shop. They have a sweet story told in a humorous manner on their website that I enjoyed reading. This lovely ice cream shop had a good layout that made ordering quick and efficient on a hot summer day. The line was almost to the door, but the staff seemed to have it down to a science. Flavor samples were offered, which is always appreciated. This day, we decided upon the four scoop plate ($9) with the mint chip, black raspberry, cookies n cake batter, and the maple butter walnut. It was some of the best tasting ice cream we've had. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was laid back. Outdoor dog friendly patio seating is available, which we gladly took advantage of. Very good visit with very good ice cream. Thanks, J.P. Licks!

JP Licks is a nice place for ice cream, and the salted caramel and the PB one are pretty good.

There's something so special about places that care about food allergies. They take it serious, scoop with a different scoop, from a different container, without getting upset. It gives you such peace of mind and I'm thankful. Chocolate chip never fails. My favorite behind their seasonal chocolate chip cheesecake (please bring it back) This location has a great outdoor seating and perfect for people watching or relaxing. 10/10 service, ice cream, location

Food: I LOVE ice cream in general, so no doubt, JP licks seasonal Thai flavors really hit the spot on a 95 degree day in Boston. Also, look how cute this kiddie scoop is! Service: The worker was sooo nice! She was smiley, friendly, and let me taste like 3 flavors lol. Everyone there seemed so happy!

A small little JP licks in Somerville. Friendly staff with some seating inside. Honestly, we stopped by on a cold November night and it slapped? And it was really busy? Amazing. We thought we might be crazy for wanting ice cream on a cold November night, but it was actually always getting a continuous flow of people coming in and out as we sat and ate our ice cream there! Maybe ice cream is the move on cold days? Beats me but hey, ice cream is ice cream. It's the best. So that explains it. My one cup had 1 scoop of brownie batter + 1 scoop of Oreo with sprinkles, and it was $9 and something cents. I can't help but think I could buy an entire pint of ice cream from the supermarket for that much? Idk man. The prices are getting a tad high but it sure is good. Anywho, a great location, a popular location, and I'm not sure the parking situation, only because we walked from my friend's apartment so that's trouble as is.

The service was quick on a Friday night and they had a range of flavors. I was especially excited to see a seasonal special of Thai iced tea ice cream! While the flavor was there, the ice cream didn't seem to be well frozen and was already half melted when I received it before paying.

Hard served ice cream that was close to soup.

We love J.P. Licks in our hometown, but the one at Assembly Row was disappointing. The place is dirty and not sure what the workers are doing when it's slow but they are not cleaning the tables. Filthy! My son ordered a small brownie brownie batter that looked just like batter. I think it would have been nice of the worker to let us know it was going to be a cup of soup before serving it. What a shame!!!

Highly recommend the black raspberry cookie and cream flavor for those who don't like their ice cream to be too sweet!

Awful wait! I am not talking about waiting in line but even with our turn, it took 15 minutes to get 3 hot chocolate & 2 kids ice cream. Too long to the point she didn't even remember I didn't pay yet until I said I still needed to pay as she told me I was all set to go. As I sat down, the hot chocolate was no longer hot!!

Mike's Pastry in Cambridge brings the famous North End bakery experience to Harvard Square, making…read moreit easy to enjoy their iconic pastries without heading into downtown Boston. Located on Dunster Street, the shop is designed for efficiency, with a straightforward layout that keeps the line moving even during busy hours. There are a few counter seats inside, but it's primarily a grab-and-go destination where most people leave carrying one of the bakery's signature string-tied pastry boxes. The cannolis are the main reason to visit, and they certainly live up to their reputation in terms of size. The classic chocolate chip cannoli is generously filled from end to end with a rich, sweet ricotta cream, while the crisp shell provides just the right amount of crunch. If you're looking for something a little different, the Florentine cannoli is an excellent choice. Its honey-nut shell adds an extra layer of texture and a subtle caramelized flavor that pairs beautifully with the creamy filling. Beyond the cannolis, the bakery offers an impressive selection of Italian pastries, cookies, cakes, and other desserts. The lobster tails are another popular option, with flaky layers surrounding a rich cream filling, and the display cases are filled with enough variety to make it difficult to choose just one item. Prices are a bit higher than your average neighborhood bakery, but the portions are generous enough that many pastries can easily be shared. Service is quick and efficient, with staff focused on keeping the line moving throughout the day. Since seating is limited, it's worth taking your pastries to nearby Harvard Yard or the Charles River, where you can enjoy them at a more relaxed pace. Mike's Pastry may be best known for its North End flagship, but the Cambridge location delivers the same oversized cannolis and classic Italian desserts in a much more convenient setting. Whether you're craving the original chocolate chip cannoli or one of their many other pastries, it's an easy stop whenever you're spending time around Harvard Square.

Anyone who has spent time at the Widener Library knows that you have to wrap up before 10 p.m. to get a late night fix of sugar at Mike's (how many bakeries stay open that late, I ask you?) Mike's has an outstanding selection of pastries and gelato but the star here is the carrot cake. We ordered the Boston Cream pie as well and while it is delicious it is the carrot cake that carries the day. Any visit to Boston demands a stop at Mike's for the carrot cake!
