This my first time ever going to this ice cream place even though I'm from Boston. First of all the flavor of ice cream are amazing and creative. They had four flavor of ice cream with Sriracha- I'm not a fan but I tried it and it was good. They had all flavors of in season fruits- try the Peach or the HH raspberry- to die for!!!! I'm coming back as a regular! New Englanders eat on average 15 gallons of ice cream a year- after going here I'm going to guess I will be up to 20 gallons a year. read more

Ice cream varieties and taste is the best! Especially the fresh banana ice cream. If you want something chocolate, they have many different types you can choose from. There ice cream cakes are so good but i was hoping that presentations wise would be better. I also wish that they had more color varieties for writing and decoration because no one likes to look at a brown cake. I also wish paying would be faster because there is only one person working there when ever I go. I also wished that they would put tables outside for the spring and summer for us to enjoy the weather. Overall I would come back. read more

Not sure why but I was ignored when I inquired to order, the other 2 customers behind me had been asked except me, and I was not being a dick but polite. Until one guy asked about me, I ordered a soft serve and medium size hot chocolate; I even pointed at the cup size but the guy clearly called for a small. I don't know what they did but both me and my wife later got real bad diarrhea. We drank hot chocolate frequently at other JP Licks locatons before so WTH. I did not say much or acting weird except being the only Asian dude at the store during that time. Not sure why I'm still having such a bad vibe about this location. read more

They have many varieties..gf, dairy free, hard and non fat yogurt icecream flavors apart from seasonal picks, and breakfast. We tried coconut almond chip ice cream and cheesecake non fat yogurt ice cream..and it was upto the mark and beyond our expectations..would love to go again. read more

Best hot chocolate with soy I've had, and delicious icecream! The environment is friendly and inviting and convenient with shops and restaurants all around. Have been going to Jp licks for a long time. Probably my last time after tonight. Walked in to the assembly row store. Music blasting employees dancing. Bathrooms were disgusting. No soap paper everywhere. Stop dancing and clean the place. Paid 21 dollars for 3 little half sized ice creams. Girl says she weighed it. No scale in sight. Saw her dance moves. Those weren't good either. Go get dance lessons or learn to scoop ice cream. Would've been better off going to encore casino losing 21 dollars on three licks there than the puniest ice creams I've ever had. read more

Two guys behind the counter with about 50 people in line the day after Xmas is not the best planning folks. Plus this location is a narrow space with hardly any seating and just not the best design. I went to JP Licks in Assembly Square mall after shopping with my children and was delighted by the friendly employees and manager. My children were not sure of what to get and the young lady Kennesha was helpful and patient. I enjoyed th e music and was comfortable spending my money there. I will be back and recommend this site. We were told by locals this is THE place for ice cream! I understand why. This line was long but moved quickly. You need time to read the menu anyway. My son is allergic to dairy and they had 2 dairy free options, which we were excited about. Pineapple coconut and pistachio hemp. We got both. Both were outstanding! My son liked both as well but always wishes dairy free could just be a plain vanilla sometimes. Regardless, it was still a good experience and will definitely return. read more

They must be doing brisk business in Assembly square, given how busy they were. Took over 15 minutes to get through the claustrophobic line to place my order. Design of the restaurant doesn't easily accommodate the crowds the size that they had, but hard to see how they could do differently. I give them props on cleanliness: everything was well maintained. The ice cream is great. They have a wide variety of flavors and toppings to choose from. However, the walk in counter is quite slow for the amount of customers that use the location. Being located in Assembly Row I would expect there to be quicker service. The staff there are nice and pleasant but it's clear they're understaffed. Often there is only one person working the counter and one at the register when they often need 2 or 3 people working the counter making orders. Could be a much better location if staffing was increased. read more

I just don't get it. I don't understand what people are tasting here that I'm not. I have tried many flavors and they go from cloying to tasteless. I most recently tried vanilla: tasteless. It was just like putting cold cream in my mouth with zero flavor. Seems like everything over at Assembly Row is an exercise in mediocrity. What a shame. read more

Location is great. Line is always long, but it moves fairly quickly. It's a pretty smooth system they have going on. Someone scoops whatever you want, you get it, and pay the cashier. stopped at JP licks around 9:40 (closing time is 10) last night after eating dinner nearby. four teenagers were working and all rolled their eyes when we walked in. as we approached the counter one kid was telling another girl "i can't just tell them to leave" to which she responded "yes you can." another worker then rudely asked what we wanted and gave her coworkers a look at which they all laughed when i said i wasn't sure yet and wanted to look at the menu. paid $15 for two small, partly melted ice creams and then left. horrible service, mediocre ice cream. won't be back. read more

What a nice surprise to discover JP Licks! We have dairy, gluten and egg allergies in the family. JP Licks is the most allergy-friendly ice cream place we know. Their big ingredient book is so helpful and their GF and dairy free flavors are clearly marked, and all of their flavors are egg-free! We are also very impressed with the service. My first encounter was over the phone placing an ice cream order. Gabi was so patient, friendly and funny. Now that was a great first impression. When we went to the store, the employees were super busy, but they were all really helpful and patient. Nice flavors as well!! We will definitely return. read more

Very negative experience - the setup of this line literally lost at least 10 people - I wanted a Hot Chocolate and there were several older couples just coming in for coffee - and we were directed to the back of the line for ice cream. The older couples just walked out and I waited an eternity. Not much of an ice cream fan, so take this review for what it's worth. I love the coffee here; I used to live by the original in JP, and I'm always down for a cup. This place in Assembly, though, is SO SLOW. That's always been the case, but I've been here twice this week (it's school vacation week up here) and they've had 2 people working both times. There are lines of kids, families, screaming babies, and they have 2 PEOPLE WORKING. It's not the workers' fault, but management needs to get its act together. read more
