We came here for a late lunch/early dinner on a Saturday. Although we were late for lunch specials (I think they end at 3 and we arrived at 3:30) they made those offers available to us and we had two great choices!! The Mr. had "one of the best" plates of General Tso chicken he's had in a while, and I had a three roll sushi special. My sushi was ok/not bad, but I had a bit of "diner's regret" and was wishing I had gotten one of their Thai or Vietnamese specialties instead... We don't make it over to Fairborn's "Asian Alley" nearly often enough, and I really SHOULD have taken them up on one of their interesting curry options, or one of their many more adventurous (at least more adventurous than you can find in Springfield...) options!! NEXT time!!! Great service (this is really a "dine in" kind of place, I think, rather than a delivery spot, and reviews of their delivery service might agree...) and reasonable prices. This is a "no frills", "mom and pop" restaurant. I needed a little snack and got the shrimp tempo roll added tobiko. When I arrived, my food was ready. We got takeout here the other day including sushi and a couple of hot meals. The sushi wasn't spoiled or anything but it was sub par. The hot meals were both severely over cooked. I have no idea how the beef dishes were prepared but they were extremely tough and dry. It was also expensive compared to other offerings in the area. I used to like this place but it just gave me one of the most painful bouts of food poisoning I've ever had in my life. All I got was general tsos and pork fried rice. About a year later and I had to go back to remove a star. This place has become a hit or a miss. You really don't know if you're going to get excellent fried rice or mush. Today, I ordered house special fried rice and it was literal mush with vegetables. It's even more annoying that I paid extra for extra onions and bean sprouts. The exterior was lacking upon arrival. We are on the hunt for an amazing Chinese dinner being that our staple places, Flying Tiger and Xenia China Inn, have closed... For appetizers we order steamed dumplings and egg rolls. The egg rolls were SMALL for the price and the steamed dumplings were very dumpling doughy lots of meat though and they were large. For dinner I ordered the pad Thai. I would've like to have had a spice choice but there wasn't one. My husband ordered shrimp lo mein and General Tso's. We both agreed the portion sizes were very small for the the price. We also agreed the pad Thai- though sauced and appeared right had no flavor. The shrimp lo mein was the highlight and the General Tso's was more like honey chicken. Super sweet! There are no soda machines. Our families bill went up from 60 to 78 for a single meal. If you are ok over paying A LOT then eat here. I placed a rather large carry out order because I wanted to try several of the entrees since we'd never been here before. First off they don't have proper carry out containers so everything was cold when I got home. The sushi was very small and had very little fish, mostly rice and the seaweed wrap was so tough you couldn't eat it. The crab Rangoon was good. Hot n sour was good. The beef n broccoli had very little beef, raw broccoli and bland rice. The sweet n sour pork was hard pieces of meat that we spit out because it was so tough. From the tempura veg app and oniony miso soup to the Mexican roll and General Tsao's chicken to the green tea and red bean ice creams... the food was above par on all regards. I've ordered their dim sum appetizer before, and I would not recommend that. The dim sum pieces were super brown when they came out. And they were small and dried out. Like, it's not something they serve often so it was on its last life. Most of your dishes comes out with your choice of either, egg drop, won ton, or the hot & sour soup. Between the egg drop and the won ton soup, I would recommend the egg drop soup. Only because you only get one piece of won ton and the rest of the soup is broth for the won ton soup. Edit: After coming home from work today, the delivery driver showed up at my house. She apologized profusely for the mix up and brought me a bunch of free food. It may have been a day late but I'm truly impressed and grateful. Imagine what the world would be like if all businesses went out of their way to deliver customer satisfaction. I have changed my rating from 1 star to 4. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm really disappointed with the level of customer service that I experienced here. I ordered carry-out yesterday and made sure to tell the lady who answered the phone that I wanted steamed rice with my order, she told me that my entree came with steamed rice. I went to pick it up and then came home, when I opened the bag...no steamed rice. I called back and told them they had forgot my steamed rice, the lady on the phone acted like I was lying about it, as if I would call and lie about not getting steamed rice! Don't insult your customers. When we got that cleared up and I confirmed that YES my order was missing my rice, she asked me what I wanted her to do about it... How about offer some sort of refund or free meal, or COME BRING ME MY RICE SINCE YOU DELIVER. I told her that I wanted them to deliver my rice to me, it's cold outside, I'm sick and they already have someone out delivering, and it was your mistake. She made it seem like I was inconveniencing her, I was going to tip the poor guy who had to deliver my food lady, geez. So I give her my address (which took about 15 minutes because she couldn't understand my perfect English). So she takes my number and says she will have someone out to deliver my rice. I get a call 30 minutes later that the delivery person couldn't find my apartment, he said there was an apartment 1 and an apartment 3, but no apartment 2...I told her..that doesn't make sense, there IS an apartment 2..it's between 1 and 3. She said ok and would send him back out, well he never came and no one ever called me. I didn't get to eat my dinner and it was $8 gone, down the drain. No one apologized or offered me any sort of refund. Needless to say I will not be going back or recommending this establishment to anyone. I placed a delivery order over an hour ago, missed a call from their phone number and called back shortly after receiving the call. I was assured everything was fine with my order when I called back. I just got off the phone with someone that told me his name was Jim (who continuously talked over me and actually hung up on me) who told me they do not deliver to Beavercreek. He never once apologized for not leaving a message or for the misinformation I was given earlier. He just said the lady I spoke to was part-time, apparently that means that it's okay I was lied to and that my order was never delivered. I was told after explaining how I felt this was unprofessional that they'll go ahead and issue a refund. They hadn't even issued a refund for my order that they canceled and lied to me about before this point! Had they left me a message or told me the truth earlier, I would have happily picked up my order. Instead, my partner will have to get his birthday dinner from somewhere else now that it's late enough that most places aren't taking orders. Jim is absolutely rude and should not be in customer service. We've ordered from this place several times and usually do pick-up without problems. I would not recommend patronizing a place that believes this behavior and this man's attitude is acceptable. We had several people highly recommend we come here as they felt it was better Thai than other Thai restaurants we frequent. It was good but not nearly as good as other asian restaurants we frequent. The spring rolls seemed to be frozen rather than fresh. There were no soft spring rolls offered on the menu. The pad thai was heavy on noodles but lacking in vegetables or meat. The tang and heat I am used to with most Thai dishes was absent as well. The Chinese dishes my kids got were nothing special either. If this was my local Asian restaurant I wouldn't be upset at all but I won't drive out of my way for this again. read more
